An amazing staff, location, and hotel wrapped up in an adorable price. This has been by far the greatest hotel experience I've had (booking through Amex Fine Hotels portal). My experience included $100 dining credit, free breakfast for 2, and room upgrades (when available) through the Amex booking portal, so take that into consideration.
Food-
Coming from America, you can immediately tell the elevated quality of food in Denmark. Villa Copenhagen builds on top of the improved taste and creates a delicious breakfast and dinner experience.
Breakfast-
From 6:30am-10am, you're welcomed into Villa Copenhagens downstairs dining hall for breakfast. There are 3 main food stations: cold section, hot section, and baked goods. The cold section includes yogurts, overnight oats, fruits, cheeses, cold cut meets, and more. The hot section is where you get chicken sausages, bacon, scrambled or soft boiled eggs, pancakes, and more. Lastly, the baked section has delicious fresh baked breads and pastries. These options felt like a higher end dining experience and were top of my dining experience at Copenhagen.
Dinner-
There are two main dining options for diner (that I was aware of) both including amazing options. I opted for the vegetarian burger with fries and my girlfriend got the adult sized beef pasta. Both servings were around ~230 DKK (~$33 USD) each, so on the pricier side comparing to American prices, but the improved food quality and tastes were clearly noticeable. Unsure if I would dine here without the available credit, but I know I wouldn't regret my meal if I did. Overall, a positive dining experience.
Location-
For a traditional tourist, this location cannot be beat. It is across the highly efficient and easy to use public transportation system that Copenhagen uses. This made the arrival from the airport cheaper and stress free. Additionally, this allows for far more accessibility to the rest of the city from your hotel. And Tivoli, Copenhagen's grand amusement park, was on the corner across the hotel as well. I highly recommend a quick visit to Tivoli on your first night at Villa Copenhagen for some fun and a quick retreat to your nearby hotel afterwards.
Lastly, the Staff-
Hands down, the friendliest and most accommodating staff I have interacted with during any hotel experience. From my initial 3 night stay, the staff ensured my check in process was easy and seamless. I had no issues during my stay whatsoever but was reminded that the staff would help me with whatever request I had.
For my anecdotal nightmare experience of having our flight canceled by a winter storm (Storm Pia)-
Our flight was delayed a day, so we required an overnight stay in Copenhagen. Of course we directed ourselves right back to Villa Copenhagen, but an error on the Amex travel portal booked my dates incorrectly. I was fortunate that the Amex travel team was able to work closely with the staff and management to amend my non-modifiable booking. In the end, the staff of Villa Copenhagen was able to get my booking accommodations corrected and give me a place to overnight for the new flight timeline.
A HUGE shoutout goes to Marcos and Fredrick of Villa Copenhagen for helping out with the accommodations. Top tier people and kindhearted personalities. read more
