Fellow American visiting Copenhagen for the first time. My mom and I were looking for a hotel that was local, in a safe area, and trustworthy clientele. We stayed at D'Angleterre for 6 days and it was a little pricy but certainly worth it. Here's why:
STAFF RATING 6 out of 5 STARS:
D'Angleterre absolutely exceeded our expectations day after day. This professional and friendly establishment went an extra mile for us and every need was over met. The staff is exceptional and each of them were genuine from the heart. Every question we asked was answered, every need we had was met before we ever need to ask.
A HUGE shout out to housekeeping and room service! They were the reason why my stay was smooth, comfortable and without any stress. For example, the day of a very important black tie event I needed my $3,000 gown pressed and cleaned and back in three hours and house keeping said only one word, "Absolutely." And guess what? They brought it back in 2 hours and my gown was properly pressed and cleaned. And lastly every other night we had their wonderful staff tidy up our room which they over achieved at and every single night they left us complimentary water at each side of our bed and chocolate! I'm thoroughly impressed with this hotel and have nothing bad to say about their house keeping or room service. Outstanding job.
ROOM QUALITY 5 STARS:
The hotel was crisp and clean, complimentary espresso and fruit (fruit was only the first day) in the room, heated bathroom floors, tub + a private shower in our restroom and it was very spacious, well lit, fresh towels, and a great line of complimentary shower gel and shampoos. There was a couch and tv in our room, we didn't have a balcony but it was still cozy and classy. The closets lit up when you opened the doors and turned off when doors were closed. Extra pillows were stored there along with a large warm blanket. There was a secure safe that we used to hold our valuables in there as well. The TV was hinged to the wall which was pretty cool- there were nearly new released movies that we could watch for free (total of 36 movies to choose from).
SPA 4 STARS:
I had an aromatherapy massage and a peel which was good but not impressive compared to high end products from the US.
The good:
There were different aromas to choose from which was awesome but I wish they communicated I could mix them! The kind woman who massaged me was very attentive, nice, and knew how to take out a deeply rooted knot.
The spa in general is exceptionally clean, there were complimentary robes and a very soothing complimentary creamy strawberry body scrub that helped with exfoliating the skin and smelt like a very organic strawberry smoothie. In the spa lockers were showers, one bathroom, hair dryer/straightener, toothbrushes, deodorant spray etc. Inside of the spa itself (which is COED) are showers, a suana, steam bath, pool, big pillow-like floatations devices used for the pool which were very cozy, drinking water, and section pads to lay on and relax on.
CONCIERGE 6 out of 5 STARS:
The concierge was very educated about Copenhagen and went out of his way to make sure we saw every worthwhile corner and alley of Copenhagen!! He was very informative about where to go and where not to go, and recommended us to very unique and delicious restaurants that were in the area. He even mapped out a plan for us to go to Sweden which is just a short train ride away. Hats off to the concierge! Fantastic!
In a nutshell...
I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone who's looking for the BEST most dense hospitality in Copenhagen.
