6 course meal at their restaurant
    Cindy L.

We were roughing it in Iceland for a week so once we arrived in Denmark, we wanted to pamper ourselves. I splurged and booked this hotel for us, because we deserved it. Yes, I went a bit crazy spoiling my husband, but I get to enjoy it too, so why not?! From the time we checked in to the time we left, this hotel's service is amazing. Our room had a balcony with tables and chairs for us to sit out at night every night and have wine and enjoy a night cap. The restaurant located in this hotel is amazing and we did their 6 course meal dinner here and did not regret dropping so much money on the food, because it was phenomenal and worth every penny. I paid extra for the breakfast buffet in the mornings and that was a presentation in itself. With several chefs in line ready to make you an omelet or anything you want. The spa had a steam room, a pool, a sauna and many amenities for use that we loved. Our bathrobes were so plush and so soft, we loved living in it and didn't want to take it off. Best of all, it's centrally located to everything so we're just a walk away to everything we can think of. This hotel is on the top of my most all time favorite hotels to stay at.

I finally decided to try out this gem hotel in Copenhagen that many said it is THE Best in CPH. One gets the feeling of luxurious the moment you walked through the door. All the staff is nice l, courteous and very helpful, as one expect from this 5 star caliber. They upgraded me to a suite, and the room was very sumptuous and luxurious, down to the details that most fine hotel don't even considered. Furnishing was smart with the mixture of old world and new world. B&O TV as one would expect. One would have the feeling of being rich and spoiled just by looking into the mirror :) Everything else about this hotel is first rated. The gym, lobby, breakfast....I can go on forever. I only gave a 4 star because the bed is not as comfortable. It is a strange setup, a nice mattress as a base and a padding on top....very austere. Most good mattress requires several layers of padding like one would find at the Marriott or Westin. The sheets are good but could have higher thread count. The question became: should one pay the extra cost for the luxurious feeling of being pampered, at the expense of a good night sleep? May be there is a reason Zuckerberg stayed at the Nimb when they visited CPH?

The renovation of this building is pretty fantastic. It's going to set you have 400-500+ US a night so be prepared to lay some moola down. I was here mainly for the restaurant but to spend the day here was pretty spectacular. Drink lounge and eating is never a bad thing in such a ritzy place...

From the quaint, secluded entrance (which looks like it is on an alleyway but it was an actual street!) to the plant-filled, cozy courtyard to the room to the common areas, I was so impressed with this historic yet contemporary property! It was our first night in Europe, and to say we were jetlagged from our eight-hour transoceanic flight is putting it mildly. But as soon as my head hit the pillow on the comfortable bed I was off to la-la land! And the breakfasts! Oh the breakfasts! Absolute best and most elaborate and varied breakfast of the trip! I have never before or since seen such an assortment of foods and beverages, including cereals, hot foods, salads (yes, salads!), cheeses, meats, breads, pastries, you name it! And the coffee was divine! You got your own pot at your table. And the service was extremely attentive and friendly. Also they had a free happy hour from 4 to 6 with wines, beers, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages that was just divine. They even helped us find free surface parking, next to impossible in downtown Kobenhavn! They also recommended a great restaurant district only a block or two walking distance away! The staff also spoke impeccable English and were quick with a smile or to answer any questions you had. The only slight complaint was how small the guest room (and especially bathroom therein) was, and the fact that there were some stairs and a pretty tiny elevator, but only by US standards as I later learned. You have to realize these cities and many of the buildings in them are hundreds of years old! In summary, to say I'd like to return soon to the Kong Arthur Hotel is putting it mildly!

Not to mention it was really close to Torvehallerne Square, which is around an eight-minute walk from the hotel. I arrived early, before check-in, and the reception staff offered to hold my luggage so I could explore the city. They give you a code and place it in a locked and video-monitored closet down in the basement. It was easy to do and safe for your belongings. After some exploring, I returned to the hotel around 4 PM and finally checked in. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my single room had been upgraded to a larger room for free. I was stoked to hear that and loved the room and location they gave me. The room was beautifully furnished and was very clean! The only downside is the no AC. The temperature that day was in the low 60s (60-63 degrees). This may sound nice, but it was rather toasty in my room. They had a standing fan that, unfortunately, did not rotate, but it helped somewhat. They give you very heavy-duty duvets that are better for winter weather, but thankfully, I opened some of the windows in my room, which made it more bearable to sleep at night. The staff here was so friendly and accommodating. It's very close to plenty of sights, attractions, and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. It's a beautifully decorated hotel, with lovely rooms and an excellent location.

We booked both as wheelchair accessible and while the Marriott has textured bathroom tile floors unlike the St Annæ's slippery smooth tiles, the lower than ADA allowed toilet was a problem. Also only one of the four table lamps worked. The room's door closer and threshold made egress very difficult. Staff was very helpful. The breakfast was good but subpar to the local hotel's. The location is pretty along the harbor, next to BIG's swimming and sauna chalet, and they provide robes and towels for daring guests. However it is a bit isolated from the many nicer local shops and restaurants.

The staff is friendly and quick to help. There are several amenities available on-site. The bathtub is high with a slope on all sides, making it very slippery to get in and out (1/2 star off). There is no rubber bath mat to prevent slippage. Be careful. The location is great if you are looking to mostly stay on the canal and walk around the boardwalk. However, it is 15 minute walk to the nearest metro station and city center. There is a hotel restaurant, but no other restaurants nearby within 15 minute walk. This is fine for the summer, but inconvenient in sub-zero temperatures (1/2 star off). I stayed here in February, so found myself rather trapped unless I take a taxi everywhere.

And finally, on my way out - (this was almost 2-years ago so apologize for late review). But when I was checking out Copenhagen was supporting the Tour de France, and a major part of the city was closed to road traffic. I had to get the the ferry terminal (to take the ferry to Oslo - which I highly recommend) And the concierge personally helped me with my bags, and walked me to the subway station and made sure I got on the correct train. He was absolutely phenomenal (picture included). I loved this place, and would 100% go back and stay here again.

During my recent visit, there was construction happening directly above my second floor room and it started at 7AM. When I asked the front desk, they were quick to apologize and offered breakfast which was nice. Apparently, the construction was not suppose to begin until 8AM, but it started at 7AM (at least above my room). At least I had to get up around that time, but the noise was shrill and unpleasant. Also, my room was exceedingly warm even with A/C running all night. I'd try the Skt. She shared her knowledge of sites to see. The location was absolutely 5*. Look out the window and you see a postcard view of Copenhagen that everyone thinks of. The room itself wasn't fancy like a Ritz, but the cozy boutique atmosphere makes up for all that. The room was nice and clean, had a comfortable bed, lots of windows that open up to fresh air. It turned out there was a downside to that as well. People were out all night, so we could hear all the drunken singing in the street through the night, but that was not the fault of the hotel. The most important feature of a hotel is a comfortable bed and quiet room. We were pleased when we had rooms facing the inside courtyard (instead of the noisy street) but very early in the morning, we were rudely awaken to sustained loud clattering over cobblestones. The next most important feature is wifi internet: the wifi internet was spotty and kept dropping for 1.5 hours and then went down completed for over 1.5 hours and then we gave up; we reported it and it was not fixed. We stayed in 5 hotels across 5 cities in 3 countries and this was the worst hotel considering the cost. Their cancellation policy was not aligned with the other hotels (2 day cancellation vs. 1 day or same day cancellation). We stayed here based on the stellar reviews but were very disappointed. The hotel is located right on the Nyhavn canal in the heart of what had to be the most touristy area. It is a haul to get to the Little Mermaid or any good food. The beds are comfortable with a teeny bathroom (what you might expect on a cruise) with no counter space. There is 1 small Sony TV in 1 room with very little storage space. The included breakfast was good with cheese, cold cuts, cereals and breads (but in comparison to the other 4 Scandanavian hotels it was actually the least varied and Spartan). Don't make the mistake of staying here. You can get a better quieter hotel for the money!

First real vacation in over seven or eight years. What an incredible choice I made staying here. It's hard to distinguish my deep affection and unbridled love for Danes and Denmark from just how much I loved staying here. Well, actually maybe not. The same qualities I was raised to appreciate and strive to emulate infused every aspect of my stay. Promptness, pristine manners, lively cheeriness and on and on. No request or inquiry was ever met by any Scandi staff member with anything less than cheery efficiency. The hotel is spotless yet still bears the regal fingerprints of time - over 100 years standing through Wars and Covid, downturns of all kinds but again the pride of Danes - not arrogant but joyous pride, has proven to be this fine grand lady of an edifice's key to thrive-al. I walked every hall of this enormous architectural marvel one evening. Discretely tucked away in two hallways were black and white photos of moments of history here - of royalty from Hollywood to London, of greatness. Even Judy Garland stayed here for what became her last concert of her life. I worked and slept and ate and healed here these nine days away. I occasionally imagined May 4, 1945 down there in the Rådhuspladsen from my balcony, imaging my mother crazy with glee in seas of freed Danes dancing and singing and crying and being fully alive again after the German Wargrip was loosened forever and her friend Uffe climbed up in the Tower to Jerry rig the electric and explode their five years' darkness in the forever light of freedom. It's that same esprit d'Danmark that thrums from the townhall square night and day with music and giddy tourists and sun worshipping locals and it's not bothersome or distracting or disturbing to hear but it's instead, life affirming and a celebration of community. Proud of life. The Danes that run this fine hotel celebrate life and are alive with every cheerful staff greeting, with every dazzling ergonomic modernism (Ike the double sets of thick balcony doors which SILENCE the bells incredibly nicely but when one wants to bathe in the bells' sonorous sounds, one simply throws open the doors) and with every swift little green cleaning of the rooms. I outright reject the accuracy or fairness of the few minor grumbles I saw in other reviews. Unfair, unwarranted and utter nonsense. My one challenge was having to find a workspace during my stay. It stands to reason the Dane's work-life balance would have only modest work desks in their rooms but as luck would have it, a truly spacious and quiet conference table is on the fourth floor in the hall complete with electrical outlets! As I pack, I'll miss the nine balmy days of August unbroken sun, my nights of infant-deep sleep on this comfy bed, the incredible breakfasts, the room of a shower, my beloved Rådhuspladsen outside my 100 year old balcony and the great, great joy It has been staying here. May the hotel stand for another 100 years and may I return throughout!
