Check-in was fast, but the hotel itself is extremely outdated and clearly in need of serious management attention and a full revamp. My room was expensive and dirty, with stains everywhere as you can see from my pictures. I was so uncomfortable I could barely sleep, truly unacceptable. There is only one restaurant on the premises, and it was both overpriced and subpar. Overall, a very disappointing stay. I will not be returning.

I was woken up by traffic and the subwoofer noise from the club downstairs. The club opens till 2 AM. I couldn't take it and went to ask for a room change. The manager came up as if he can listen the bass. I thought that was pretty ridiculous. Anyways he did move us to 340 and I had to use AirPods to sleep. Also the breakfast sucked. The bacon and sausage smelled rotten as if they handed the leftovers. I had much better time staying at T4 terminal holiday inn.

The room was warm so I turned down the temperature setting on the thermostat to 18C and headed downstairs to eat my free meal provided by British Airways. I realized that most of the people staying there were in the same boat as me having missed a connecting flight. Dinner was a buffet that served fried fish, French Fries and a pasta with bread. I wasn't pleased with the free meal (I know, I know, it's free) so I snacked on fries and bread. I met some cool people in the restaurant and eventually headed back to my room. I arrived at my room after 1.5 hours and noticed that the air conditioning didn't feel much better than when I left. I'm told that this is typical in Europe. I decided to turn the knob all the way down so I could try and get some sleep in comfort. The bed was comfortable and I didn't have any trouble sleeping. I did however, needed to get up after 3 hours of sleep to get back to Heathrow to catch my flight to Brussels. The shower and bathroom worked good enough for me to get ready to leave. I left my room and checked out. The process was hassle-free and the front desk staff was friendly. This rating could have been higher with better working air conditioning and better dinner options. This was a solid three stars.

Also, as it was attached to the Carvery, there was a really good continental breakfast available. However, upon my visit in November, i was disappointed to find out it had changed to a Travel Lodge. The entrance was lit up by harsh bright lights which made it look like a clinic. Going to the room, I was dismayed to find that the Lodge had stripped them out of any character they previously had. The room was clean, but I had to ask for a hairdryer. They had no shower gels or shampoo, which was annoying as i try to travel as light as i can. The only breakfast they serve is in the form of breakfast packs for £4.50, which contained juice, cereal yoghurt, fruit and croissant. The Carvery wasnt open and i werent a happy bunny! The only plus side is the fact that its next to a Carvery and the Harvester is down the road. Oh, and its only a short distance to the station too.

There is a gym that guests can use for a small fee that is 3 minutes away but it doesn't open until 8 or 9am depending on the day. That is too late for me since I was going to work early every day. The rooms are tiny with a double bed. I had a view of the rooftop next door. The mattress was pretty firm and the bed had 4 pillows one of which was a feather. The bathroom had a nice shower with one of those rain shower heads and the water got really hot. The shower door was one of those half doors that doesn't close. That seems a bit weird but it worked. The bathroom has a towel warmer but mine was not working which was unfortunate. It also got a bit stuffy in my room at night luckily the window was able to open a little bit, enough for fresh air! There are coffee pods, and tea in the room. I love that they give you the Walkers biscuits in your room. They are so good and there were many flavors that they replenished every day. Also they gave you water in your mini fridge. My co worker was not happy that there was no lotion or conditioner in the bathroom. She asked for lotion at the front desk but then had to buy some conditioner. I always bring mine so it wasn't a big deal for me. My reservation came with a buffet breakfast in the restaurant. It was your traditional English breakfast The coffee was horrible. 2/10 on the coffee scale. The location is fabulous and very walkable.
