I took my pc to get repaired and get maintenance. But when they called me to go pick up my pc they said the only ran diagnostics and nothing was wrong with it! Taking advantage of the 3080 shortage and inflating the price by 40% instead of the typical 70% and acting like it is a bargain isn't that good of a look to have. Business is Business, but I can take my business to online retailers where I know I can get a fair price by waiting. I would normally support local businesses, but practices such as this will only drive more people to online retailers. I can only imagine what they are asking for a 3090, maybe that is why they don't list a price for it on the shelf. Always price check before making a purchase. First I have to admit that I was more than totally surprised at the professional customer servIce when I took my desktop computer in and was expecting something sinister. I was amazed at the low price and the fact that if I decided I wanted to buy a new computer from them. the original deposit would go toward the price of the computer. The repairs were completed in about 48 hours and since it was a minor issue to them, I didn't have to pay more than my original deposit. In the past when I'd experienced computer problems I had friends whom I could call for help. Now I'm older and my friends have either died or moved too far away to help me. Now, I would like to explain why all this is such a big deal to me. Being an author on Amazon requires a desktop and though mine was less than a year old, writer's block and personal emergencies meant my PC was not doing what it was supposed to do. I'd already started and had made some progress on a sequel to one of my books when the PC proved that it was smarter than me. But I had to continue that manuscript because I'd already received many requests for a sequel to the third book that I intended to be a trilogy. But the requests kept coming in meaning that my stand-alone would have a sequel and my trilogy would become a series. I have done business with Quality Computers for several years, as have many of my friends and family. While many of my personal purchases are made online these days, I have run into many occasions when I needed a niche component and couldn't afford to wait. QCS stocks a surprising number of parts in their store (they actually build some machines in house, in addition to their repair work), which has been a life-saver in the past. I am the "computer guru" to many (more than I would like!) of my friends and family. However, I travel frequently and am often so busy with work these days that I don't have time to help everyone resolve their issues. Many times, for their more complicated problems, I have referred them to QCS and found that they have always been pleased with the service. Contrary to some of the other reviews listed about Quality, I've never had an issue with the management or any of the employees. Occasionally I can find a question that might stump one employee, but there's usually another one just around the corner that knows exactly what I'm asking. My family, friends, and myself have always been treated fairly in our dealings with QCS. As I've gotten older, I've come to appreciate all that small businesses do for the community in which they operate, and some of the challenges that face them, especially in today's economy. Update: As Brad mentioned, he contacted me about these issues. But, rather then helping me, he begins arguing with me about them. He claims that QCS "negotiated with Apple" for the price I ultimately received on my MBP!? Man, it's great that they want to take the credit for that NOW!? He claims they informed me, but that is not true. They seem to be trying pretty hard to put a revisionist spin on poor business decisions. After reading my initial review, I'm embarrassed that I didn't mention my third experience with QCS. It was when Apple's Snow Leopard operating system came out last year. I'm always an early adopter of Apple products, and this operating system was supposed to be a major update. I called QCS (I know, but Best Buy was not carrying it, and QCS was the only Apple retailer in town at that time), and the dude told me they have it. The upgrade was supposed to be $29, but when he rung me up, he said $42 (or something close to that). When I asked about the discrepancy, he said the owner added $10 to it to cover shipping. This was strike three. Here's what Brad said about that: "I did have to pay apple next day air. Once I got my next shipment in 3 days later it was $29. Apple does not "FIX" prices, vendors can charge what they need to to be able to cover costs. FYI if you charge what apple does on the web site you make 5% if the customer pays with an AMEX there is 3%, whatever to cover it's share of ground shipping and you are lucky to pay a salesperson to answer the phone." You know what: too bad. Was it really worth it, Brad? You already gouged me twice. You want to take advantage of the loyalist Apple customers? You can explain all you want, but it sure looks like you're were taking advantage of your no-longer unique position of being the only Apple retailer in Macon. Finally, here's what he said about the MBP in our last email: "I do not want you to have a bad feeling about my business. If you can bring me a copy of the service order from apple with what they did and to fix the problem with pricing, and your full name so I can look you up on my system I would be happy to refund the $85 for the MacBook Pro." I have the documents he asked for, but no refund. Instead, he called to harass me -- to tell me I was wrong. Great business sense. And I have an even WORSE feeling about your business now, Brad. Now, I have just two words for QCS: Peach Mac! Let me say them again: PEACH MAC! PEACH MAC! PEACH MAC! Unfortunately, I have to revise my last review: run run run -- take your computer elsewhere -- buy your computers elsewhere. Peach Mac just opened up the road. When ordering a new PC make sure to receive an itemized list of all parts and services included (e.g. Keyboard(s), Software Installation, Data Migration etc.). Sales is more than eager to make promises that are not representative of what actually transpires in the build. Moreover, escalation to a person of authority (Owner, CEO, General Management) for resolution of minor issues is non-existent. read more

When netbooks were first coming onto the scene I stopped by QCS to see if they had any so I could get some hands on experience with one and possibly buy one if I liked what I saw. My wife and i walked in and asked the guy behind the counter if they had any netbooks. He gave us a haughty laugh and said "Oh, do you mean NOTEBOOKS? What brand?" I had to correct him and say "NETBOOKS, you know, small form factor laptops with 10" or smaller screens and Intel Atom processors?" He just gave me a blank look. If you're working in a computer store you need to stay up on technology and netbooks are the fastest selling computers on the market and have been since they came out. His ignorance and attitude cost him a sale. Also, they advertise that they carry Apple products but they seem to only carry the lower end of the product lines. When I asked about a mid level Macbook I was told that they could order one for me. I can order one for myself! If we got a Microcenter or Fry's anywhere near here QCS would be out of business in a hurry! read more

First take: very clean and professional and loaded with gizmos I've never seen before there's something for everyone if you're single or a gamer or a husband that wants to keep himself or wife happy and keep kids busy. They fixed my iPhone w oem on the spot, recycled an old broken router and sold me on a My Cloud router and a pair of Epically awesome Usb headphones that have 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound w/bass. I recently took my computer in for a repair. I really hate taking electronics in for repair because I tend to take care of things and keep them for a long time. I still have an I-phone 4 and drive a 15 year old truck. The point is I take care of things. When I took my computer to Quality Computers I really expected the Tech to say get rid of it and buy the lastest and greatest. I was amazed he did not. I was treated as if I had brought in the most expensive computer ever made. I was told the someone would possibly look at the computer on a Wednesday and it would likely be ready on Friday. It was ready on Friday afternoon but I chose to pick it up on Saturday. I have literally experience better, there is nothing here I can't find anywhere else, the people working are rude and short. They don't give any form of real advice, the older gentleman is very rude, snide, and just absolutely atrocious to deal with. My experience with QCS has been completely positive. I am a "high maintenance" customer because I am a doctoral candidate working on a dissertation and I can NOT afford to lose data. I love this group of helpful people! I have been doing business with them for years. I have bought, and am still using, a computer they built. I have bought a couple of monitors to replace old ones I have had for years. The best thing about Quality Computers is the Quality Care. I only have to pick up the phone and click a button to have a computer tech on my computer fixing it without any problems. I love their Vipre Professional Anti-virus program and have bought it for my family members. I brought in a computer with a problem of not booting properly. QCS did resolve that problem, which I was charged for 2 hours and I did not consider it to be a quality and professional job that was done. A quality job to a customer would have included cleaning the equipment as a part of the services that was being provided by QCS. However, when I arrived to pay for the computer repairs the equipment was dusty throughout the tower. I mentioned it to the guy who did get some dry air to blow out some of the dust. Which really should not have occurred if the job was complete. In business, service is a vital part to customers which is most important to a continue relationship. read more

I bought a computer for my son from them through the Connect 2 Compete program right about the end of the school year last year. As soon as we upgraded to Windows 10, we began experiencing issues with strange errors. Instead of taking a look at it for me to see what kind of fix could be applied and then discussing money, they said it would be $50 an hour plus whatever else it would cost to fix it. SLOW DOWN! If I bought this from you under a low income program, it's pretty obvious I don't have the money to pay that type of fee. Furthermore, this is less than six months ago - you mean to tell me you don't stand behind your product? Also, I don't like the condescending tone with which I am addressed when I go in there - like, "Oh gee Little Woman, you don't know your way around a computer - let me help you." Fine. Whatever. I have been doing business with Quality Computers since the early 90's. This started out as a Mom and Pop shop that a professor at Mercer started and passed on to his son. Brad was one of a couple owners that saw a future in technology. His vision was to create a personal environment where service and sales may cost a little more, but the customer was satisfied. I will admit that on occasion I passed by Quality Computers to buy my equipment at Wal-Mart. We are all cost aware when purchasing our tech toys. I wish they were closer to where I live. In the late 80's there Apple stores all over Macon, but by the 90's they had left and the only option was to purchase them is in Atlanta or on line if you could afford them. i used to help people in Macon with their Apple/Mac problems by doing in-home service. Something Macon did not offer. Businesses had to use Small Business Machine (SBM) to complete their repairs or send them to a repair shop to be fix. If this was a software issue (corrupt or missing files, software incompatibility, etc), I could take days to weeks to have repaired. Best Buy and other computer super stores did not carry or support Apple product. Quality saw the need to include this in their PC line to help the customer. Being a long time Apple repair person, I can relate to the rules that Apple requires to be a repair shop. One of which is that you have to sell their systems if you want to do warranty repair. Something that was desperately needed in Macon. There is little room for profit in Apple that I have seen without the warranty repair certification. Sales from Apple are not much different than if you went to their site. Having someone local that discuss your issues and provide you service is rated much higher than access to the latest and greatest equipment from Apple. The variety of equipment and technology that Quality Computers provides is not always the highest end quality on the shelf or floor, but it does support the average computer user. Instant offers of gratification to the user may not always be attainable if the technology just hit the streets. Expecting a Larger, but still Mom and Pop store, to compete with technology superstores is absurd. It is great that they can provide the same services and if they can support many of the same products at a comparable price, but to expect them to provide the exact same offerings is unreasonable. To those of that go to Quality Computers and shame them for their service are not using their quality services, you are taking advantage of their kindness and misguiding the reason They exist. We go to quality Computers for the friendly helpful services you will never get at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and other Superstore Giants. read more
