This is a update to my original review to Quality Automotive which is now Car Lax Quality Automotive. I've been a customer of Quality Automotive for over 28 years now. I have never taken any of my cars to any other mechanic as the former Owner Dan came highly recommended. The former owner Dan his son Chris to all that knew chris knew he was a great guy and will be sorely missed. Jim and Todd who have been with Dan for as long as I can remember. A little over a month ago Dan sold Quality Automotive to Bruce who owns Car Lax automotive on 30th Street East in Palmdale. After buying Quality Automatic moved his business to the site of Quality Automotive and is now called Car Lax Quality Automotive. The sale wasn't a total shock to me after Chris's passing. God bless Dan and his whole family. However I took my car for an oil change and that's when I found out Dan had sold it and Bruce bought it. I wasn't sure what I was in store for or if I would stay a customer. After taking my car there I determined very quickly that I would remain a loyal customer. They were very busy when I arrived, yet they got started on my car right away. After being there only a few minutes the new Owner Bruce came in and introduced himself to me and we had a nice conversation. The fact that Jim and Todd are staying was also great news. After that day I read the Yelp reviews on Car Lax and like Quality they rated 5 stars. The fact that Bruce came in and introduced himself told me that he is a stand up guy. He was honest with me and stated he is going to keep the prices basically the same as Quality. They aren't the highest or the lowest, but they are very reasonable. I'll continue to be a customer of their's in the future and feel lucky that Dan sold his place to a honest guy. Bruce also brought his mechanic from his other shop so they can handle more work. I highly recommend Car Lax Quality Automotive as I truly believe they will offer the same great work and customer service. Thank you Bruce and Grace who works in the office as well as all the mechanic there. Dan you and your family will be missed. I wish you the best in your next adventures and know Chris will be missed dearly. God Bless you and your family. read more

This is the only mechanic I use in the Antelope Valley. They are honest and trustworthy. They are very busy so it can be difficult to get an appointment. I highly recommend Quality. read more

Been to Quality before - 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. Front pads & discs R&R. Chris opted for a better disc than one he's had problems with yet more readily available. I appreciate that. Ball joints R&R. Not cheap but the job is done right. I have paid less for work done elsewhere and got what I paid for... just go see Chris.... you'll be satisfied... read more

My go to automotive shop. I don't even live in Palmdale anymore, but anything that can wait for Quality, I do at Quality when I visit. Good prices, fair and honest. What more could you ask for. read more

Chris and his team are outstanding. Long story short. Check engine light came on and had it towed to dealer like an idiot. They said I need an $8000.00 new engine. Brought it to Chris on monday. One of the spark plugs was broken in odd way so he replaced all four. Check engine light is off. Car is okay now. Honesty and integrity, quality automotive. Thanks Chris Carol b. read more

Steering box R&R.. part took a little longer to arrive but no biggie. Tried to get other quotes but other shops didn't seem to totally know what they were talking about. Will return and chat with Chris about ball joint R&R.. Work seems fine and no leaks.. read more

Clearly an honest shop, no attempt to BS or upsell. Our car was draining the battery, and they took the time to diagnose our car correctly rather than throwing parts at it. Once they determined the problem, they replaced only the necessary part (alternator) and the car has been running fine for 6 months. They also took the time to listen to my questions about what might be coming down the road in near-term repairs and gave good honest advice on what could wait. They've earned my business for the long term. read more

Amazing! I just found my new mechanic. I thought I was going to have to pay over a thousand to fix my daughters Sentra. They didn't screw me around and gave me an honest answer to what was wrong. Instead of overselling and price gauging me they where honest and kept it under $200. Return customer for life! read more

I've had the best service with this mechanic over any other mechanic I've ever been to. They looked over my car to give me a run down of the repairs it needed free of charge, and was very knowledgeable, helpful, and honest with me as I tried to decide which repairs to make first (the car was an old beater car). After such service, these guys have always been my first pick when I've needed car repairs! read more

I love Quality Automotive. It is a father/son operation that does great work and they are very honest. They have won my loyalty for life. A fews years ago, a local dealership refused to honor my transmission warranty. Dan (father) replaced the tranny and did not charge labor. They do great work at fair prices. They work on all my vehicles including Chevy, dodge, jeep, and Toyota. I recommend them to all my friends and family. read more

I just realized this is my second review for Quality Automotive. Have you ever wanted to post a review for a company and yell from the rooftops so everyone in your city knows about them? If you ever needed an honest mechanic, this is the place! I cannot tell you how much they've helped us with our cars over the years and we were faithful customers to the mechanic just down the street for many years, prior to finding Quality Automotive. So grateful for this shop !!!! HONEST is an understatement. I do my homework and always get labor & part estimates before I go anywhere, but each and every time their work is always the best with lower prices. We will never go to any other mechanic. Thank you !!! read more

I called them to get an estimate for my 99 honda for the ac unit cause the compressor went out and they gave me this BS story that they don't make ac compressor for my car anymore and I would not be able to find one unless they rebuilt it or get it from another honda. Come on that story doesn't work on me maybe on someone that doesn't know about cars, but anyways I was able to buy one online and get it installed by a professional. I don't trust this guys if there going to be lying about things about like ac compressor who knows what stories they told to customers out there to screw them over. Thanks for nothing crooks!!!!! read more

Very nice, family owned auto shop. They are honest and will take care of you-- prices are reasonable (not cheap, but fair). I will always come back to them for all our vehicles. read more

Quality Automotive was referred by a friend. Said they did good work at a fair price, well I'm a believer. These guys fixed my brake issue first time that two other shops could not. My car stops straight and squeal free, finally!!, and the price was fair. I was back to one of the shop 3 times and no success and much money spent. Quality you have a new regular. read more

This is a great place...they worked on my front and rear brakes the same day with no appointment, did the necessary work with no up-charges and were pleasant to deal with. Prices were reasonable and the work they did was top notch. Brakes now work perfectly (no squeaking or vibration) and the brake pads they used were excellent. Highly recommended..!! read more

Been going here many years. Honest, trustworthy, and they guarantee their work. My old vehicles keep on going.

We have been taking the family vehicles here for years! Dan & Chris are the most honest and respectable people you'll ever have the pleasure of knowing. The whole team is honest, reliable, and they do an amazing job, we wouldn't take our vehicles anywhere else. They even work on Diesel!!!! Now that's some top notch stuff. You'll drive away knowing your vehicle is not only fixed but fixed correctly. read more

My truck overheated I was from out of town they took care of me they replaced radiator pump hoses and took care for good price

I have had the best experiences with Quality Automotive. Knowing you can trust the information you are receiving and that the work will be done right always gives me piece of mind. The customer service has always been top notch and friendly. Now for the reason for this review 18 months ago I had some repairs done to the front end including a new gear box. The steering was loose again so I took it in to be repaired and I was told the gear box went out again. The Gear box had a one year warranty from the manufacture. Chris felt that the I should not have failed and replaced it with no labor charges. This is the kind of customer service and honest dealing that have made me come back every time I need work on one of my vehicles. read more

I'm a new client. In about a year I will write a longer review. So far very good. Clean shop (so important), friendly guys, good service and your not driving onto a dirt driveway or parking in a shopping center. Self contained location. Prices are what you'd expect to pay for quality and excellent service. My car is running great!! So, it has not been quite a year but my husband and I have had a few visits here.....We are very, very happy to have chose this as our new mechanic. Just sitting in their waiting room and listening to the many customers come in being treated with the utmost respectful way was very pleasing. It is difficult to find a good mechanic and this is THE BEST Antelope valley can offer!! My car runs great and never having to "question" the integrity of their work is the way all shops should operate. I had a major and minor service done and it was done to perfection. Same with my husbands car. No stress. read more

I have used this automotive service for several years without complaint. They have always been fair with their prices and have delivered on time. Even after I had moved out of state I returned to have some expensive work done on my vehicle that would have cost me twice what I was charged, at a dealership. That has to say a lot about these guys. The kicker was when I asked if I could get a copy of the receipt after 5 years in order to get partially reimbursed by the manufacturer. Chris provided it in 10 minutes. Enough said, if you want fair and honest treatment this is the place. read more

I have been taking my cars here for service for over twenty years. Great service and competitive pricing. No hidden fees or surprises. Mechanical issues are explained in easily understood terms. Telephone calls answered most times and messages are returned very quickly. read more

Chris, and his team are top notch!! Very fair pricing, and they really know their stuff!! When the dealer told us there were 2 oil leaks, and Chris said maybe it was throwing oil down lower to make it look like a leak, let's address the upper one and see...he was right on!!! It's been several months since he fixed it, and so far no sign of any other leak. Honest, conservative measures, but thorough. We love Quality Automotive! read more

Excellent shop!! Honest shop!! I have been doing business with Quality Automotive for more years than I want to mention!! We have sent hundreds of trucks over the years and not once has Quality Automotive inflated the jobs. They fix whats broken and advise on possible future issues they see. They charge an honest price and do good work. I take my company and personal vehicles there for repair (all the repairs for my company truck and the repairs that are beyond my ability, or tool set, on my personal vehicles) Chris is awesome and he has a great staff. They are working on my truck now!! read more

Quality is their name, quality is what you get. Last night my car broke down and I was able to limp it to Quality Automotive. Unfortunately they were closed. I left my car parked in front of the shop with the key hidden. In the morning I called and spoke to Chris, and explained what the symptoms of what was wrong with my car. Chris agreed to work on my car immediately, even though I did not have an appointment. I live two hours from Palmdale where the shop is located, but I know their reputation. The problem with my car was diagnosed within an hour. The ignition coil had gone bad, along with a spark plug coil, which was discovered after the ignition coil was replaced and was not included with the original estimate. We'll not only was my car repaired within a couple of hours, but Chris did not charge me for the spark plug coil. My car runs perfect now. I have had worked done here before along with numerous friends and family. I can not say enough about all the employees at Quality Automotive. They know their stuff, they are polite and answer all your questions. If I could give them 10 stars I would. I would not hesitate to take any of my vehicles to Quality Automotive or recommend them to anyone. read more
