Stopped and got the fried shrimp and fries. Both were hot and freash out of fryer.People working were nice and polite.Put all the sauces I wanted in bag.The shrimp are big.Even though it's in a truck stop and an express, still had all the TVs on wall. The only reason for 4 stars is the drink machine and area for kids etc was a bit gross, could use a scrub. But I would eat here agai read more

So bad! Used to go to the one over in Portage and wanted to bring my son on our way through. Saw it was closed and referred us to this one, which is now an EXPRESS. Awful awful. Good service, quick, but the food just isn't the same as it was. Very poor quality. Skip this one and go someplace else. read more

The past three time I had Quaker Steak & Lube it was great. This location on the other hand the food chain should be ashamed of. The "grilled" boneless chicken wings were hardly grilled and very bland. I never would have gotten these had the not been out of bone in wings. Also they happened to be out of FRIES! WOW! Not pleased. read more

Some places say "Chicago style ", but don't use the right buns and don't have celery salt. Arnie's does . The beef is decent too. We normally eat the hot dogs at the counter and take the beef's "dipped" to go.

What happened to Arnie's Dog House is seriously disappointing…read more This was once one of the greatest hot dog stands in Northwest Indiana, and unfortunately, since being purchased by Luke Oil, it feels like almost everything that made Arnie's special has been taken away. First, they stopped using Vienna Beef for the hot dogs and sausages. Then they completely changed the chili, which now tastes like vinegary tomato paste instead of the classic chili people loved. And the fries? The great old fries have been replaced with skinny, limp, tasteless, greasy fries that are a major downgrade. They even got rid of the classic brown paper bag and replaced it with a sterile white one. It sounds like a small thing, but those little details were part of what made Arnie's feel like Arnie's. Unfortunately, this isn't just a case of a few things changing - the entire experience has been changed for the worse. If you're going to keep the Arnie's Dog House name, you should keep what made Arnie's Dog House great. Really, really sad to see what happened to such a beloved, longtime Northwest Indiana institution. This isn't the Arnie's Dog House I remember, and it's a shame.
