College Park…read morelocation has had several additions to their menu that make them even better than they already were. I am a little sad that the donut collaboration ended, but they are still amazing. The cookie nachos allow you to get a tray of a certain number of smaller cookies with a number of frostings as the dip. For example, chocolate cookies with a cookie butter and salted caramel dip.... It's simply to die for. And the cookie pies are great for events -- you have to order it at least a half hour in advance and you get a cookie sheet cake basically. I have only had the cookie butter one so far, but it was awesome and fed a lot more than you would think. I'm not really a soda person so I haven't tried the dirty soda yet, but I did finally try the ice cream, and the salted caramel and ube were fantastic. I ended up getting the ladder between two cookies, and I realized I should probably try it with monsters next time. I found myself not being able to easily bite the cookies without the ice cream falling out. Maybe I should have gotten the cookies warmed up, but ultimately I think bigger cookies would work better. It was an excellent flavor combination. Let's see what's in store for my next cookie venture... They need to bring that Japanese Cheesecake back!!

Since then, she's been my go to baker for every event I have in the DMV, as well as personal celebrations. The only reason I'd ever order from someone else is if she's fully booked. She's that good.

I decided from all of the lovely pictures I saw on IG that this bakery had to bake some specialty cookies for me. I contacted the bakery to place an order. The owner was extremely professional and wanted to make sure my vision came to life. We discussed via email what I wanted and I even shared a few pictures that would assist in the decorating aspect. I made an initial deposit to proceed with the order. In the mean and between time before the party, I decided I should probably taste their goodies. I went to the Crofton Farmers Market, where SBL usually is a vendor. I ordered a few cupcakes and decorated cookies. Whew! They were all excellent! I knew I had chosen the right bakery for my specialty cookies. Side Note: they have a chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake that's to DIE FOR! On the day of the tea party, I stopped by the business to pick up my treats. Fun cake pops, chocolate chip and sugar cookies were all in my order. SBL is a home based bakery, so I picked my order up from the family home. The woman that met me at the door was so nice. Just a pleasant encounter from start to finish. The cookies themselves were absolutely perfect! My vision came to life! They not only looked beautiful, they were very delish! I'm going to be honest, the cookies were so pretty, I didn't want to eat them. Especially the wedding gown one. (Wink) Supporting home based bakers, like SBL is very rewarding. I just find them to be more personable and willing to go the extra mile. I'm already planning to make another specialty order in the future.
