We had the full birthday package. I started in the changing area just before going into the chair massage area. The massage lasted about 15 minutes and it definitely set the tone for the rest of the experience! The next step was the hydrating shower. We had the option to shower together or separately. It is extremely steamy, so if you don't enjoy being hot I would suggest showering alone. Next up was the full body massage! I had a very much needed and relaxing experience. My massage tech really paid attention to my problem areas and made me feel at ease (I fell asleep,lol) and he for sure worked out the kinks. After the massage they gave us a few moments to center ourselves and then prepare for the next step. The hot tub room! Oh my it was so nice! We had complimentary sparkling juice waiting for us, a calming aroma of essential oils, and a 15-25 minute hot tub experience. After that, we got dressed and headed to the restaurant, Recline & Dine. I asked to used the ladies room before getting started, and they pointed to a door leading out of the business. I used a bathroom that is shared with several other businesses. The bathroom wasn't that clean. Once in the massage room, I fubbled around trying to turn on a light. I spent several minutes attempting to find a light so I can figure out where to lay my belongings. Once I finally found the light switch on the little lamp, the massage therapist knocked at the door. I instructed her I wasn't ready just yet. I then was ready and laid on the table. I TOLD the massage therapist that I have a lot of trouble with my shoulders and have knots that need worked out. She did the 1 hour massage fine, but she didn't spend much time on my shoulders/shoulder blades as I instructed. The theraptist didn't use that firm of pressure. The next day I felt like I couldn't move. I'm sure the lagging pressure irritated the knots in my back. I had to go to another massage theraptist to work the knots out of my shoulder blades because this person did not. I normally get massages at my chiropractors office, but I wanted to give a local business a try. I doubt I will return here.

I am glad I did!!! ‍ I generally DO NOT prefer men massage therapists for the "obvious" reasons being a woman; however, Mr. White was nothing shy of respectable, professional and damn good at his craft. He also called me at least 1.5 hours ahead of my appointment time to confirm he was running behind and could I come about 30 minutes later. I totally appreciated the courtesy and sufficient notice. The pressure wasn't too soft or deep, just right to work the kinks out. The atmosphere was very relaxing and calming...I think I even slobbered a little, lol. I purchased two more 90 minute massages and booked one before I left. I hold people very accountable and he did a really good job. I hope you give Mr. White a chance like I did. It's located on the Groupon but I missed it initially, Groupon users must book during the week, which was fine for me to get a mid-day Break.

I believe I had a student (who are not allowed to receive tips) and she did an excellent job. Excellent technique from head to toe. In fact, I love a good scalp and face massage - which many places overlook or barely attend to - and this young lady really listened to what I was wanting from my massage. She even worked out the kink in my "crunchy muscle" in my left shoulder. I would highly recommend Renaissance.

Don't let it fool you. I arrived at 12:55 pm for an appointment that was booked for 1:15 pm. When I walked in I told the receptionist my name and that I was there for a 90 minute massage. I stopped at the restroom (overflowing trash can and tissues all over the floor) then was shown to a massage room (large room for couples massages, nothing fancy, but not bad). After a quick ask of why I was there, I undressed and was on the table at 1:00 pm, face up as requested. I waited on the table for a long and concerning 20 minutes before anyone came back to check on me or start the service (I thought they may have left and I debated dressing and going to look for someone). At 1:20 pm the masseuse walked in and began the massage. No mention of the long wait at all. The massage itself was average. Very "grabby" versus more advanced massage techniques and while I mentioned tension in my shoulder and back area there was no extra focus or care given. It was very routine and I left not feeling relaxed or loosened (although the rough start may have contributed to that). The massage was done at 2:30 on the dot and the masseuse told me I was done and left the room. In my mind I was doing the math and realized that I paid for 90 minutes but only got 70 (not counting my 20 minute wait on the table). It was the Friday before the holiday and I just wanted to get out of there. While I should have spoken up then, I unfortunately paid them and (over)tipped and left. (Keep an eye on the tip options if you add it to your card, as they start at 15% versus 10%) They send a followup email for a survey. I responded to the email with my experience and said I chose not to write a negative survey response but wanted them to know my experience. They responded the same day with the following, "Our records show and if you check your confirmation, you will see that your appointment time was scheduled for 1:15pm. You arrived before your scheduled appointment time, therefore the therapist took you to the treatment room and gave you more time to settle in. Your treatment started at 1:20pm and ended at 2:30pm which resulted in a 70 min massage. Our 90 minute massages are actually 80 minutes of hands on treatment. The final 10 minutes are for clients to regroup and get dressed." So... I arrived early and instead of telling me or asking me to wait in the lobby, they set me up in a room and leave me. THEN, it is their custom to take off 10 minutes from your service, so you can change clothes within the time you've paid for. (Versus them coordinating that extra time needed between clients on their end, you know, as a business). Then they still started 5 minutes late and ended 20 minutes early (or 10 accepting to their day-spa-math). They offered me 10 minutes free to be added on to my next appointment, which I will skip since I'm not going back. They won't offer me a credit, they say, because I already received a $40 "1st time client" discount on my service. Just skip this place. There has to be somewhere with better customer service and better massages in the area.
