Pros: - She's very good with being able to apply deep pressure - She listened to guidance and worked very quickly, getting a lot accomplished - Service overall is excellent! Cons: - Her technique with feet was a bit off (never apply full heel bone pressure direct to spine) For a therapeutic deep tissue massage, she delivered very well. I went in here with a stiff neck that was so bad I was in tears. Cathy was my masseuse and she really did a great job working out the knots and tension in my neck and back. The hot stones were a first for me and the heat felt so good on my muscles. She really dug in deep to my back and pulled and stretched my spine in what I believe is a shiatsu style massage. This is a relatively new place. The people are nice and were willing to work me into their schedule even though I was a walk in. For a simple relaxation massage this place was alright. It was a completely different experience for me. My previous experience with massage was one where it was all about my comfort (e.g. how much I wanted to get undressed, only exposing areas that were being worked on, etc.). This place made it seem almost required to get down to only underwear and at times the majority of my body was exposed. SHIATSU massage!! I have only seen a few places in Memphis that so a true Shiatsu massage, and this one is great. Tina was my therapist, and she is extremely firm with her feet- very deep. My lower back felt like a ball of rubber bands.. She stood up on the table and grabbed the rods in the ceiling, and she used her heels to twist back and forth right on my tailbone- bones and vertebrae were popping back into place and setting back where they belonged. Neither of them introduced themselves nor asked what we wanted them to work on; I believed it was because they didn't speak English. I previously had an unpleasant experience at this establishment, however since then, they have made up for it and have been very accommodating to my issues I experienced previously. The massage services are very good, my discomfort in my neck and shoulders are usually relieved when I leave. I encourage the staff members to just do better at coordination of time/appointments and to also ensure massages are completed without any interruptions. The management was very responsive and concerned with my experience, and the staff seemed very disappointed that I was not satisfied. I am an advocate for effort and they have made tremendous improvements. I think one of the issues is that they are beginning to receive more business than what they may have expected to, being as though they are new. So for this, I recommendation having enough therapists on duty to service the volume of customers or perhaps create capabilities of reservations being made online, to keep track of clients.
