Just saw that, there is a new Asian kitchen in the neighbour, the name of the restaurant was the first thing that caught my eyes. Qilin is very Chinese name and the design of the restaurant seem more Japanese, so does the food on the menu. So it got curiosity high. I decided to give a try.
Since I like a ramen fan, I ordered a ramen with beef for my first meal here. I already realized it when I saw the picture on the menu, the ramen doesn't look like what I have used to have in japan or Japanese restaurant, but why now. Most of the Asian style food in Berlin are quite westernized.
The ramen was surprisingly good, I think, they use the Chinese hand-pulled noodles instead of Japanese ramen noodles. And I like the taste of the soup. The beef tasted good as well. I do think this is more an Asian fusion restaurant than a traditional Japanese kitchen. I like noodles and creative stuff, so I don't think the ramen was bad. But I can see some guestes might have problems, especially, those are looking for the traditional Japanese style ramen. I'll try out their miso ramen next time.
My hubby ordered the sushi plate. He told me, he found the taste of it just pretty common here in Berlin. They do offer all you can eat running sushi.
I also like the interior design of the restaurant. It got the vibe and nice place to have dinner with friends and love one. Only small issue I had was the distance between the seats near the running sushi was a bit tie. It is not that comfortable to sit there. read more
