Was excited to eat shush from the conveyor belt but was disappointed when I got there..they now only have the boats floating for decoration so u can only get things from the menu. The sushi was good but in my opinion too small given the prices.. the spring rolls were actually a joke,3 tiny pieces that tasted like nothing! We tried this place one lunchtime on a Berlin trip and promptly squeezed in as many visits as possible. I used to live in Japan and am resigned to eating random quality sushi in Europe, but this is best I've tried in a long time! True, the chefs are not Japanese, but they make a big effort in food preparation and presentation. The rice is good quality and delicately flavored, the nori is crispy. The menu has a nice assortment of white fish like hamachi and tai and is a mix of traditional pieces and fried/cheese rolls that are popular in Europe. They even flambé the eel and other fish in true Japanese yaki style. The setting is lovely, it's a converted alcove beneath the S-bahn, directly off the SW corner of Savignyplatz. They do things Japanese style here: take a seat at the bar and order directly from the chef! They will carefully prepare each plate fresh, rather than leave it on the little boats. Our miso soup was a little sweet, but tasty, with tofu and wakame. Plates are served with two nigiri pieces, like in Japan. The portions are very generous, the fish is carefully cut. When I packed my carry on for Germany it was filled with elastic waist skirts and some leggings. I figured the meat, potatoes, and beer would leave me sleepy, happy, and desiring some unrestricted clothing articles. While planning dinner my travel mate sent me the sushi emoji-- I hadn't had sushi in a long time. Why not? Visiting a landlocked country didn't promise much for incredible seafood, but Sachiko Sushi is hands down the best sushi I've ever had. This is coming from a New Yorker. The fish was so incredibly fresh and the flavors really innovative. The male chef we had was efficient, working to keep a full bar of diners happy. The rotating sushi bar effect is kitschy with little floating boats in a rotating moat. I wish I could visit this restaurant again. For out-of-towners there was an English speaking waitress and free wifi! read more

I stumbled upon this place after walking around Berlin last Friday afternoon, since I was staying at the nearby Hecker's Hotel and wanted to explore the area. I happened to see the "Sushi" sign from the main street, and decided to see what this restaurant was all about After peering inside, I sat down to be greeted by a server who spoke excellent English. I sat at the oval table which was actually a sushi boat set up -- small wooden boats floated around a constantly moving stream of water, some which carried orders of sushi on top of them, and a dozen or more chairs were placed outside of this stream. The sushi chef was in the middle of the sushi boat arrangement, where he could take orders from anyone sitting at the chairs around him. The interior ceiling was curved, as it was underneath the metro line. Every once in a while, you could hear a metro train go by. For me, the sound of a metro train passing was more comforting than anything. Soothing music played in the background, and the room was painted blue and decorated with four modern art pieces inspired by pop culture and Legos. I took a few items off of the sushi boats but also ordered custom nigiri (ikura order with seaweed). I was extremely happy about the level of fresh, delicious seafood - fresh sushi can be hard to get, especially in an inland city. The owner must do a great job in selecting fresh fish, because everything I had was delicious. I even had a chance to speak with the owner when he came in - turns out he's American-German and now lives permanently in Germany with his family where he's raised his sons. He spent a good 15 minutes chatting with me, which was really pleasant. I would definitely go back to Sachiko Sushi again, especially with friends. Very foreigner friendly, but also a pleasant place to get some piece of mind from busier parts of town! read more

Tucked away, under the train tracks that will add their urban sounds to your experience, is the best sushi restaurant I've found in Berlin. Most seating is around the chefs station surrounded by water tray boats, a delightful touch. As the little boats go past, choose what strikes your fancy. The chef/owner is a delightful, quiet spoken fellow who buys wonderful provisions and produces excellent sushi. So tasteful, so delicious, so affordable. Best sushi train in all of Berlin! There are only a few but this one is by far my favorite! They have great variety and someone is always behind the island making fresh sushi. Make sure to order from the server the hot/spicy edamame. Sometime I eat two of these, so so so good!! Service usually very good. Always same younger guy and girl working which is nice because they remember you when your back! They take card which is nice. On a Fri or Sat night you will want to make reservation. Don't go during the lunch special which the sushi is cheaper and you get free soup but the rolls thy are included are very basic and there are only 2-3 they put out. I just came back from Vancouver & with the amazing sushi quality there I was not so sure if Berlin could keep up. I've been to many sushi places here, but know that they would not do now. Sachiko, however, has been great! You can order if what you want is not on the boats & the staff is very attentive (without being pushy). Great fish, different flavors coming together in one roll, great taste. A bit more expensive than other places, but worth it! read more

Our experience here was just ok. Sushi , compare to New York qualities sushi, no where close . Just average sushi made by non Japanese chief . This restaurant is kaitenzushi type of restaurant. When we went it was pretty busy ( well noone was waiting ) And there was nothing on the boat!! We had to wait long time to eat and everyone he puts food on the belt it was gone in second . Got extra cash in your pocket? wanna blow it all quickly on good sushi at an upscale place? This is the solution! The sushi is delicious and you can almost taste the ocean it's so fresh (but only almost!) The prices will shred your wallet quite quickly, so beware! Best value is lunchtime between 11 - 15 oclock when 3 trays on the river are only 9 euros including miso soup. Location is somewhat hidden, so make sure you know exactly where it is. But it's right by Savignyplatz so it's a nice area. Recommended only for high-rollers and moneymakers. (or maybe a classy date?? it's up to you) read more
