I drove a friend over to this restaurant, parked, and went in. Tony Roma's is known for its ribs. I have been to this location twice in my life. Did I ever order ribs? Nooo! Back then, I was still developing my love for food. My first time, I ordered a top sirloin steak with shrimp. The steak was so good and flavourful. I remember how happy I was eating it. The shrimp were perfectly done. The next time, I ordered wings. They were delicious! Wings are my lifeline. On one of these visits, I had an amazing dessert. It was a chocolate brownie in a small black skillet, with vanilla ice cream on top. It was fantastic. I don't see that on the menu these days, which is a bummer. However, there is a dessert trio with my name written all over it to consume. Sadly, this Tony Roma's location is currently closed due to COVID-19. When I am back in Winnipeg, I'd love to drop by this location and give the ribs a try, along with dessert. (137)

Both of ours were both way overcooked. I let our server know when she asked, but not as a complaint. She let us know that she would be right out with our refills. Instead, a guy brought us ours, and when he put them onto the table, he didn't let go of them, and stared us in the eye, back and forth. It was really odd, especially because he turned out to be the manager. Chris was argumentative, confrontational, and belittling. I let him know that I had said that the steaks weren't done how we had ordered them. He asked us if we even know the "correct" doneness of a steak, and proceeded to tell us that we really didn't. He made quite a big issue out of it. So much so, that he went back to the kitchen to get his chart, and pointed out each level. He stared us in the eye and was defensive and challenging. I rarely go out to eat, so this was supposed to be a nice, relaxing occasion for some great food. I was really looking forward to it. It was the absolute opposite when Chris came out like some sort of pit bull. I feel bad for the staff at this location, because if he was willing to treat two complete strangers this way, he definitely is this way to the people around him. One thousand per cent DO NOT recommend!! Do not even think about coming here. Tell your friends, to save them the hassle.

3.5/5, +.5 for service…read more One thing I miss when I moved here from Toronto was the abundance of non-Pho noodle places during cold seasons like this. Thankfully there seems to be more around this past year, including this one just off Waverley near the humane society. It wasn't too busy on a Tuesday at 6pm, but there were definitely Skip orders ongoing. It seems many businesses do rely on Skip to sustain, especially in out of the way locations like this one. This place is over the counter service, so no table service at all. I had the stewed pork rib wheat noodle bowl, which was really good. The broth was rich but not overly salty, the pork ribs were decent (I've had better but it met my standards), and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Service was excellent and the workers were very knowledgable. If it wasn't so far out of the way I'd definitely return for future visits if I crave noodles on a cold winter day.

We ordered the chicken shoyu ramen and the chashumen. The chicken shoyu ramen had a flavourful broth that was a bit on the sweet side for me, but my partner really enjoyed. We both loved the shrimp broth in the chashumen! It's rich and creamy and has a surprisingly strong shrimp flavour. Definitely recommend! We also ordered the bubble matcha matte and strawberry oolong tea which were both refreshing. We'll definitely be coming back to try some of the rice dishes!

We ordered the three main dishes that they currently offered. All three dishes were good, but my favourite was the signature hellomen due to the unique shrimp based broth. However, we did find it needed a bit of salt to enhance the flavours, otherwise, it would have been perfect. My second favourite was the HK style char siu stirred noodles, which had great flavour and the char siu tasted good. Would have loved for it to have more green onions though. I also really enjoyed the HK style milk tea. It tasted just as how I remembered it when I was in HK before.
