We stopped in for a quick bite after grocery shopping and we were just so frustrated. Five employees were working and the place was a mess. Not a single table in the dining area was clean. The floor behind the counter was covered in food droppings and crushed up chips (viewed while walking to bathroom). The serving station was filthy. The garbages were full. The utensil station was almost empty and in disarray. Half the beverage selections were unavailable in the pop machine. The worst part is the employee who appeared to be in charge had their face in their phone. If Qdoba can't find good employees who hold themselves to a higher standard, make some changes. Ordered a bowl directly through the website. It was completely undercooked. The rice was hard like it had been sitting there all day. I was told over the phone that their rice looked fine to them and that since I went through the app I can't get a refund. Not using the app ever again since on top of a tip I had to pay for convince fee, and delivery which added up to almost 15$ it's self. Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo. Normally, we both take the day off and go somewhere to celebrate. Obviously, this year it had to be much different. I was still looking forward to today and wanted to make the best out of it. J got off work early and had planned to get some Mexican carry out from our favorite place. I had planned on an early dinner and margaritas. I knew that every where would be pretty busy, so, I was planning to order around 3:30. I couldn't get through to any of my restaurants! I was so totally bummed. But have no fear! There is a Qdoba. Nearby. We also have a Chipotle right here. But I prefer Qdoba (he prefers Chipotle). I wasn't sure if we would be allowed inside so I called to order. They won't accept calls. You have to download an app and order that way. That was a total pain. The app was not easy to navigate at all. We usually get the brisket burrito bowl. That wasn't an option. So frustrating. I ended up with chicken and he ended up with beef. When you arrive, you can go in and pick up your food, or if you choose curbside, they will bring it out to you. Had I realized that I could have gone in and ordered, life would have been easier. Not sure why this QDOBA is so different (worse) than the other QDOBA in the area. If I owned this one I would take a serious look at who is in charge and ask what's going on. Just look at the reviews on here. I preference this review by saying l love QDOBA. The service is so bad it is almost laughable. Tonight, and there have been many other nights, there was only one person working from start to finish. When I got there she was ringing up the person in front of me. She told me one min please, no big deal but I said to my self here we go... after she rang her up she excused herself for a minute and left to go attend to the dinning area. She came back because the phone was ringing, which she answered and then had a good conversation with the caller. Then she washed her hands and finally got to me. The food isn't as fresh, the portions are not the same, isn't there some kind of standard from the franchise. I asked for chips and salsa, they couldn't find the scoop she she just grabbed chips and started scooping into a bag with her hands. She had gloves on but I'm just starting at her. You could tell she was frazzled and was over whelmed because she had a line forming. Not even so much her fault, how can only one person be working the front? I did see a guy "cooking" in the back, maybe he isn't certified to talk to customers lol. There was also someone who appeared to work there sitting in the dinning area. I was on the fence about coming here, but the "Kiss for a Qdoba" BOGO deal on Valentine's Day was too good to pass up. I figured the place would be packed with such a good promotion taking place, but to my surprise they were not- which made me nervous. Was this location really only worth the 1 star it had? It was too late, I already promised the hubby one of his fave meals. I had to go in. I got a spot right up front and noticed they have outdoor seating, that will be nice when the weather warms up. Upon entering I scanned the restaurant, 2 people in line, 2 tables occupied, 2 people working behind counter. Very bright, open and extremely clean place. I'm happy with the setting. Tons of seating too, and spread out so that you don't feel like anyone is invading your space while you're eating. As a mom of 5 I like that! Walked to the counter and started looking over the menu, as it's been a while since I've been here. I was immediately greeted by smiling Rachael and she gave me the quick run down to refresh my memory. I place my order, giving her all my specifies ie, extra this, side of that, more of that, a little more.... you get the picture. She obliged with a sigh or a eye roll- not like some places who think you're taking money outa their pocket when you as for extra lettuce or a side of peppers. She made my 2 burrito bowls- loaded to the gills, and wrapped up my tortillas on the side, so they wouldn't get soggy before we had a chance to eat them. She passed my bowls and all my side items down to Jasmine who, with a smile, packaged it all nice and neat in 2 separate bags. I kissed my beautiful daughter and only had to pay for one of my items. The food was delicious!!! We got chicken for both proteins and it was tender and flavorful. Rachael mentioned they marinate the chicken thighs and grill it all day long. Chicken thighs are my favorite and if cooked right are so awesome. This Qdoba does the chicken right! I can't wait to try the pork next time. They also have steak and shrimp and a vegetarian option. They have tons of options to choose. Black beans or pinto. White rice with cilantro, or brown rice. Shredded cheese or 2 different queso. 3 different salsa that vary in heat and my personal favorite the fresh made pico. They have chopped red onions, cilantro and fresh sliced jalapeños. Do. Not. Forget. The. Fajita veggies. Get EXTRA (at no extra charge). Trust me! And while you're at it get extra guacamole too - also at no extra charge! You Gota love when extras don't cost you extra! (Wait....who said that!?) Yes, maybe they had a few quirks to work out when they first opened but they are good to go now. This is a decent qdoba. You can tell that it is a relatively newer one based on its newer design. Both times that I've been here there has always been a line. I have been incredibly impressed with the take-outs I have been getting from my usual haunts, until tonight. Everywhere else I have been has really stepped up to make their establishments shine. Qdoba has normally been a pretty good place to eat. Tonight, my wife and I had bowls. Portions were very small. I think the prices went up as well. $7.00 for a side of guacamole.....ridiculous. The bowls were tasty (the reason for more than one star). The chips were very salty......luckily we had some old tostitos at home for the queso dip. We will probably try again when Wretched Gretchen opens up our fair state. Hopefully this was a fluke. read more

Deserves no stars. The seating area is acceptably clean. The kitchen and food prep area is dirty. The tile floor doesn't look like it's been hosed and scrubbed for a very long time. The stainless steel is smeared and dirty. The server asked if I wanted a bag for a to go order with several items. Not only was it a dumb question but it was snowing really hard out! My bowl was half way filled and so dry, even with sour cream. My adobe chicken was burnt and in combination with the tortilla strips, it tasted like burnt salt. Almost as if they scrapped the burnt chicken gunk off of the fryer and put it on my bowl. 10/10 do NOT recommend. Seams she hates her job and customer service as she, and I dont use this word often but, was EXTREMELY rude and impolite and VERY unprofessional. Walked up to a filthy dirty line that was filled with dried up rice stuck to the sides of the pan, veggies that were completely inedible due to way to much seasoning, empty salsa pans and wilted and brown lettuce to name a few issues. One employee was cooking chicken and one was serving. The girl that worked there was taking everyone's order for Taco Bell delivery. She could have been cleaning the tables or food line. Another employee was talking to her. Horrible management and food prep! Couldn't even finish my bowl because the rice was hard as a rock. I should have listened to the reviews. I love QUDOBA, I cannot believe I have one in my home town but heart broken to go in and have had the worst life experience! The manager (woman well over 50, very skinny, blond hair, who threatened customer in front of me to have worked here for 20 years) was pure evil; to her staff, my husband & I, & the customers between us in line. We were in the best mood coming in for a sunday lunch & I was 9 months pregnant. We were beaming so excited to be parents soon and she was so extremely and oddly rude to us & everyone around us, for just the 4 minutes we were in line being served by her that we left with the most eerie stomach feeling for literally days after. It was so uncomfortable being their in line while she waited on us & simultaneously spoke down to her staff that we RAN to the door to eat in our CAR bc we couldn't stand the feeling of being around her any longer... it was just mind boggling that she has a job...& as a manager is shocking. we LOVE QUDOBA so much we now drive 20 minutes from home (3X a week) to pass up this one that is literally walking distance from home. Because we never want to see this human again. I'll start with saying I really like QDOBA, I work near the 14 and John R location and probably eat there almost once a week. Always have a great experience there. This Vandyke location is near my home and I cannot say the same. ALWAYS understaffed. 2-3 16 yr olds is not enough staff on a busy Weekend afternoon or evening. Staff is your typical Shelby Twp spoiled kids who literally do not want to be there, but parents made them get a job. But I still think it falls on Management. Place is ALWAYS dirty. Even when they're slow...which should be the perfect time to clean. Drink station is a mess, dining area is a disaster. I place my orders online and every time I walk in to pick up, not only is my order not done, it's usually not even started. I have to ask where it is and I get an eye roll and a sigh...just really unfortunate to see a chain restaurant with good food and SOME good locations have such a black eye at this store. read more

First time trying qdoba, always liked chipotle but i hear qdoba has a little bit more variety. I guess they must not be very busy and the lady working maybe didnt think to fill the ingredients up and wasnt willing to fill the ingredients up, so we had to settle for what was out. She did prepare the fajita for us though but she only cooked them for maybe one mintue and just let them burn, so our veggies werent really cooked. This lady did give us a lot of attitude too, very snippy but i just tried to ignore all the faults here and still try the food. I am so upset. This place does not even deserve a single star. I went for the first time and bought a bowl and a quesadilla. I wasn't really sure what to expect. The total came out to $25. This seemed like a crazy amount to me. I paid, and stupid on my part I did not ask for the receipt. I wish I did. Upon going home I realize I was severely over charged.
