Best Fast Casual! Qdoba first opened in 1995 and today have 740 locations in the US and Canada. Only opened about a month, this Qdoba is near 65 and in a small shopping strip right off Montgomery Highway. They share the strip with Wing Stop, ATI Physical Therapy and Baskin Robbins ice cream with an Einstein Bagels being built nearby. Parking can be limited during busy times. The interior is pretty standard but since it was new, everything looked clean and immculate. You start at one end, choose your favorite bowl, burrito, tacos, quesadilla, or salad. You "watch" as you move down the line towards the cash register. Meanwhile, you request how you want your food "assembled" as you go down the line and pick your ingredients. There's tables and chairs with raised versions scattered throughout with a soda and tea station on one side of the restaurant. There's a prominent "pickup" shelf for mobile and delivery orders as I suspect Qdoba will be very popular for quick lunches. They also stay open late until 10 pm every night of the week. I tried the bowl with citrus lime shrimp. I chose white rice, beans, salsa, corn, cheese, shredded lettuce, then topped it off with fresh jalapenos, cilantro, and guac. What's a big difference between Qdoba and their competitors Chiptole and Moe's? The guac at Qdoba is FREE! That's right you heard me. Free! The cook on the shrimp had a nice zest and was perfect. Everything in my bowl was fresh and delicious as I tossed it all together before eating. Yom Yom Yom Yom. Qdoba prides themselves on taste, quality and freshness. They only *cook* what they need and put it out on the line when needed. This was explained to us by the store's owner as he walked around greeting customers. Remember back in the day when Chipotle gave you generous portions and the restaurant was clean and the workers were nice? This is the Hoover QDOBA. Like old school Chipotle. Only you get FREE GUAC and sweet pickled jalapeños like MawMaw used to make and can buy a homemade chocolate chip cookie if your macros allow. So an elevated experience We got the chicken bowl (which I split between myself and my THREE kids, the portions are that giant) and the steak bowl (which my husband ate on his own cause he's a big fella), some small tortillas and chips with queso. Store #3147 We really enjoyed our meal! We ordered a bowl along with the spicy queso and chips, plus extra sour cream and jalapeños. We also brought a bag of spicy chili lime tortilla chips that we had purchased from the grocery store, and they paired perfectly with the queso. Everything tasted fresh, and you can definitely tell the ingredients are made fresh daily. The quality, flavor, and freshness really made the meal stand out. Food was pretty bland, when you first walk in no one greets you, it was my first time and I didn't see on the menu u the same options listed on the app and no one offered to help or assist. Alright so, I made my way to this establishment and I enjoyed my lunch . First walked in greeted with Hello's. The menu is easy to glance and read over with plenty of options. To be fair, I've eaten Qdoba in other cities and thoroughly enjoyed the food. However, I tried Qdoba in the Birmingham area and will never eat there again. Here's why: - Customer service was poor; the young lady who made our food barely spoke or said hi even after we greeted her. - It was around 8:30 pm and they didn't close until 10 pm. They didn't have protein options except three pieces of shrimp (I still opted to get the only shrimp they had). I ordered a mix of shrimp and chicken since they refused to cook other options because they were "closing soon." The cook was litterally cleaning the grill and it was only 8:30 pm. - The worst part of this visit was the raw chicken. Litterally raw. I attempted to eat my burrito at home and was shocked to see rawwwww chicken. Gross. Waste of time and money but worst of all, this could've really made me sick. I came in today. It was great service great food. They were sweet kind and answered every question considering I didn't know what was what it never been here. They were so kind and so patient with me the pricing was good for two meals that came with a bowl chips and a drink and queso is free. It was only $38. So, today we heard this Chipotle/Moes style restaurant in Hoover, AL is really good and the food is always fresh & looks fresh. We tried it today and I have to agree. I was really amazed at the tenderness of the chicken & steak. However, there were 3 attendants at the front, two serving us and one to check us out also, there was a stander by who was possibly the manager. No one was very welcoming or friendly. We didn't feel comfortable to ask about food items we weren't familiar with. No smiles or kindness. The atmosphere was very stale & dry. I rated this restaurant with 2 stars because kind, helpful attitudes counts for much and they failed miserably. read more

My husband and I usually love QDOBA and were excited after a long day of working in the heat to have a treat. They need to train their employees better. The service was awful, they acted like they didn't want to be there and there was no manager or even assistant manager on duty. The employees also were all over the place. No organization. The kid who took my order charged me for an extra item that I didn't get. I asked for a refund and he said "I can only give you cash for that one item"...I paid with card. I do not want the exact change of a tortilla soup that will just sit at the bottom of my purse for eternity. He mumbled so I could barely hear him. I had to let out my inner Karen to get the money back on my card. I was just irritated while I ate and that's the worst way to eat. Bad experience overall but the food was ok.
