I can get in and out quickly unless I decide to browse at the interesting impulse purchases facing the front. They even have nostalgic glass bottles of pop you may not have seen in quite some time including Green River and grape Crush. Some items do cost more than competing hardware, big box, and online options, but you won't get the type of service this Do It Best store offers at those other places, and some things are actually a far better value. Their complimentary popcorn is a must! :) This hardware store is a bit out of my way, but I've chosen them a few times so far because I prefer how I'm treated here over what is closest to me. Plus, they have little shopping carts with cup holders. This is especially the place for you if you're a little lost when it comes to hardware. They make keys in a jiffy, too. Keys are a much better value than the machine inside a nearby big box store. Check it out! I try to support small hardware whenever possible.

The manager (B.H.) was helpful far beyond my expectations. He organized the shipping and was very communicative about everything. I wanted to give him a tip but he refused many times and later texted me a nice message: "someone came into the store with a T-shirt that said 'Kindness is Free'. That is how I roll." What a great guy and manager! I feel so lucky and happy, as a total stranger, to have been given this friendly treatment. Thank you. This gives me great hope for our country in a time when civility can not be taken for granted. Someone should buy this guy an ice cream!

So they want me to take the machine back and rip me off and the insurance after something they are scamming me for. They want me to drive 2 hours to take them the machine back from something that my insurance paid for and they are scamming them by "renting" the machine to me.

Kathy came right over, said she would get me the big quantity I needed. After a few minutes, she and another employee rolled the heavy cart up to the register for me. The gentleman that helped Kathy also helped me get the load to my truck and helped put them in the bed. Overall, great customer service and a great price on the fertilizer.

I think of it as more of a farm supply store, but it is also considered a department store. They carry sporting goods, items for dogs and cats, hardware, lawn chairs, large trash cans, toys for children, seasonal decor, etc. I remember seeing a lot of jerky and rare candy as well as funny and unique refrigerator magnets and greeting cards. From the things I browsed, I think most items were reasonably priced. Their patio furniture and dollies in particular were priced as low or better than elsewhere I've looked. I was in searching for supplies to put a barrier underneath my privacy fencing, and while they had a lot of options including mesh you'd dig a trench for, I didn't end up getting anything to tackle that project because I'm not sure of what solution, if any, to use for my dilemma... I did, however, grab a large stainless steel water bowl for my dogs which my cats also like to use. It was somewhat reasonable at around. I can't say the quality is the absolute best as it has an indentation that revealed itself at some point which looks like a small hole at the bottom but doesn't appear to pierce all the way through. It becomes slightly rusty on the underside, so I believe it may have a tiny slow leak. I'm not sure. The size of the bowl is perfect though. I have found it difficult to find the size I need online or inside other stores. I liked this store much better than what is available in Peru but prefer a similar store in Rochester. Not crowded. A little difficult to locate what I needed but found help for that eventually a couple times. The checker was pleasant. Plenty of shopping carts. Clean. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to make a special trip back anytime soon, but it's a good small town shopping option to me. I would keep it in mind for the future.
