I had forgotten about this place, until a friend reminded me of it. I went twice for massages. There was an older Asian gentleman who gave me my massage. I do remember a sweet lady up front. The masseur was a little rough and not in a good way. I had to ask him a few times to dial it back. He did. I remember him just leaving the room and then coming back a few minutes later. I went to this place several times before the pandemic and it was excellent. Doug is a healer and knows where there are stressors and places that need to be worked on. He performed massages like I imagine an accupuncture session would be like. I appreciate this skill and being able to pinpoint exactly which areas are causing problems and how and for how long they need to be worked on. Mostly I have areas on my upper back, shoulders, and neck that cause me stress, and he worked on those like a skilled Master. I went to get Brazillian wax recently and he did a great job and took time to make sure it was done as painlessly and thoroughly as possible. I am very clear on what I want and don't want, and when he knows he can follow through and has the skill to do his job excellently! I came here for some relaxation and other services, and they delivered as always! I think don't expect a 5 star spa, just expect a Guy who knows what he's doing and is just a natural and incredible talent and an expert in healing and relaxation and pressure points, he brings a lot of positive energy. This Guy has a great sense of humor. The pandemic seemed to have changed him a bit, as with everyone, but glad he's doing it still and rocking it. He is a natural talent at getting to your pressure points and relief of stress. Don't expect a 5-star resort treatment or burk williams without the huge price tag, but he is Professional, just you have to tell him what you want and don't and he'll deliver to you. Q spa is across the street from a hotel I stayed at when I first visited and used the Massage many times while in the area. It is on the second floor, very cozy and comfy environment with private rooms, great serene quiet place and atmosphere, and with a nice easy access parking lot in the front, in this convenient location. Doug is very skilled and welcoming. This was my first time ever being waxed. I was nervous and also concerned about the pain. But Doug made me feel comfortable. The whole session went by very quickly and it did not hurt nearly as much as I thought it would. This review is long overdue as I was only finally able to find some time to add their awesome business in Yelp. So I like good massages once in a while - who doesn't? I was in the neighborhood and found this hole in the wall. Positioned next to an Organic, natural, free range, paleo, airchilled, Non GMO, vegan, crossfit, lululemon, [insert other LA hype words here] massage place, I opted for the less obnoxious choice. I like my massages from humble, professional, clean small business owners. And Q Spa hits every single point for me. A couple of parking spots right in front of the unassuming strip mall. Inside, the decor is minimal and simple. I am greeted with a friendly smile and I instantly know it wasn't a mistake going to an establishment without a million 5 star yelp reviews. I only realize inside that they offer a ton of other services too like waxing, microdemabrasions and candling (for hella cheap too!) They take appointments, but luckily they were able to accommodate me and I was whisked off to one of their rooms. I let Susan know exactly the tension points that were bothering me and she went to work! 60 short minutes later, I came out feeling like I was reborn. Overall, I'm a fan not only because I got a great massage for a great deal, but because Susan and Doug were so friendly, accommodating and reminded me amazing people still exist in this world. I found Doug last year simply by chance and after being his client now I believe it was all meant to be. His healing powers are profound and his caring heart is very strong and always willing to really help others. Whether it is my sore aching back or congested sinuses he has helped me in more ways imaginable. He connects with you on a spiritual level if you are open to it and helps you find your own healing powers. I still can't believe how affordable his rates are for his services. I showed up to this establishment and everything in the beginning was going very well. I was assigned to the old Asian man that works there unfortunately I didn't not a get a name. However, he was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. While the first half of the massage went well as he went towards the lower part of my body he straddled my head putting his knees on the table that I was laying on! Like he could have just gone around the other side of the table if he had a hard time reaching. While rubbing the tail bone area he would allow his fingers to touch my butt crack and continue to touch my inner thigh and vagina! Completely unacceptable. I DID NOT pay for the service which seemed to be more for his pleasure. It's sick... SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS! read more

I do not recommend going to Q Spa. I had a terrible experience getting a massage by Doug last year where he was inappropriate and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. The first thing he did that I thought was strange was even though I asked for only my shoulders and neck to be massaged, he would start going down my lower back using fast and forceful motions that would cause the towel covering my butt to slip off. He did not grab the towel and fix it like every other professional masseuse had done, so I had to grab the towel myself to stop it from exposing my butt over and over. I finally asked him to just stay near my shoulders and neck again and so he did, but he climbed on top of the table, with his thighs straddling around my head area, but without his legs actually touching me and weirdly applied pressure with his hands on my upper back, but it felt so unnecessary to do that. The last unprofessional and inappropriate thing he did was he got down off the table, and quickly pulled the towel off of my butt, completely exposing it and told me to get up and sit up! I had on a thong but I did not have on a bra so if I sat up I would have been almost completely naked. I yelled at him to put the towel back on me and if I were going to sit up I would use the towel to cover myself. He laughed and said "I'm used to it". It took me a long time to write this review because I was so shocked and depressed over this disgusting experience, but my regular masseuse that I go to who is very professional told me that I need to make sure to write a review to warn other women especially that he might do the same thing to someone else. read more

Let's talk about QSpa... You know how most places, you tell them what's wrong or where to focus and they just go through their regular routine? Not here. I'm traveling for work and staying across the street. Got to my hotel with a ripping headache from a neck and shoulders that felt like steel cables. Douglas asked what I needed, I told him, and he went to work...and he worked...and he worked until my steel cables melted back into a more normal state. He dug and rubbed and I don't know what, but let me tell you, he knows his stuff. Whenever I travel to this area I will make it a point to stay close and go see Douglas. If you are looking for a legit, no monkey-business massage, this place has you covered. By the way, the 70s massage parlor decor... It was perfect. Oh, one more thing, when he was finished, he spent a few minutes teaching me exercises to prevent those areas from getting so tight again. That's a healer. Thank you! read more
