The tailor here is a lovely woman. Very friendly and kind hearted. The quality of work is done well and for a week's notice I was happy with that I got back. For the record, I asked for a dress slit to be sewn, and three layers of dress to be shortened. The cost was $140. This price seemed like a lot to be hence the three stars. The shortening of the dress was maybe 4-5 inches. I just feel like $140 is way too much. In the end, the alteration cost ended up being close to double the cost of the dress price! read more

POOR SERVICE-NEVER AGAIN! Dropped off 3 pairs of jeans to be hemmed. I asked her to use the same color thread, orange, as used to sew the rest of the jeans and was told that's what she always uses. I dropped off on Tuesday before Thanksgiving and was told they'd be ready on the following Tuesday. I called on Friday to verify Tuesday pick-up as we were going out of town Tuesday morning and was told to come by "any time on Tuesday". I came by Tuesday morning and after much looking she found the jeans but only one pair was complete. I took that pair and said we'd come back the following week. Came back on the next Tuesday and they were finished but with light blue thread?!?! Came back again on Thursday and watched as she stopped helping another customer at her counter so that she could stop me at the door. She held the hems up so I could see they were done correctly and thrust them at me in a dismissive manner which prohibited discussion of a refund of some of the $60 or an apology. Kim is a magician at repurposing! Having experienced her expert work on minor alterations and repairs, I brought her a fabric shower curtain that she transformed into window curtains, matching the pattern of opposing panels with care and creativity. Most recently, I showed her an antique textile with alternating strips of moth-eaten wool and woven silk, wondering if she thought it could be pieced into a table runner. The result far exceeded my expectations. For a reasonable price, I got a beautiful table runner which I could also use as a wrap with a formal gown. The stitching was beautiful, and she had made inconspicuous repairs to the silk that enabled more of it to be used. This textile belonged to my great-grandparents, and had great sentimental value to me, but was unusable in its previous state. I am so grateful to Kim for giving it new life! read more

Unprofessional! 1. Dry Cleaning service- I had a couple items cleaned and one pair of men's pants pressed only. My white blazer collar is still yellow and the pants that were 'pressed' are still wrinkled and got charged full price for everything. 2. Tailoring- I dropped off a black satin top that needed taking in. The first time I went to pick it up I was in shock at its condition. The manager was not there so they refused to give me the shirt and asked me to go back. The second time I went to pick up the shirt it was in better condition as she tried to fix it and started feeding me a story that her sewing machine broke- lies obviously!!! I was very insulted that she even thought I would believe the BS. She totally tried to fix it but as you will see in the pic she is just not good at sewing period. She told me to leave it again or I could take it and wear it and bring it back for her to fix but I must pay her $20. I told her that is out of the question as the shirt was already trash and my time is valuable - I cannot return every week for one hem on a shirt. BTW she initially tried to charge me $28 for this small hem and then $25 if I paid in cash. The fact that she still wanted money is appalling. Worst customer service. How are people letting her touch their wedding dresses? If you care about your clothes I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. read more

My wife and I first came to Q tailor to have her wedding dress and my wedding suit altered before we got married. Not only was the service fast and affordable, Kim (the business owner) also made us complimentary face masks out of the extra material from my wife's wedding dress since we were getting married during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though I now live 45 minutes away, I am still coming to Q tailor to have my clothes altered. In fact, I just dropped off a pair of pants for a funeral ceremony tomorrow; Kim offered to alter the pants immediately so I wouldn't have to wait to pick them up. Q cleaners - thank you for saving me with my hem and dry cleaning of a bridesmaid dress! Of course it depends on the dress and what needs to be altered or hemmed but my David's Bridal long bridesmaid dress that has 3 layers that needed about 2 inches cut from the bottom and hemmed... Q is charging $60 and I could not be happier. Acton Dry Cleaners was going to charge me $100.... I was speechless. Plus $12.50 for dry cleaning this dress. Don't mark my words that those prices are going to be appropriate for every piece of clothing but I find that INEXPENSIVE! Thank you Q Cleaners!!!! read more

Kim is Amazing. She saved me and my Bridal dress. After Alfred Angelo went out of business i was left with a dress that was to large, did not fall properly, had broken and fallen off buttons and the wrong sleeve/back piece. It was a painstaking job but she did it. We made a pact to get it done. Step by step to make it perfect she would work on it i would come back and do a fitting. Each time she would tell me how great i was doing from working out. She would tell me she was proud of me. She could see the things i needed someone to say to me..so she did it. In every way she went over and above, My dress could not have been more perfect. My trust in her was warranted. She can put you at ease with her obvious skills and the amount she cares. Since my husband, David, discovered Kim about a year ago, he thinks she's the greatest (and he's incredibly fussy and won't except anything except perfection). Kim has replaced zippers, tailored trousers, tailored raincoats, reworked the length on a machine knit sweater vest to perfection and it all came back perfect. Trust me, if Kim can make my husband happy with her tailoring, she has to be pure perfection. A great tailor is very hard to find; why shop for one any further! Kim is the only tailor I trust my clothes with, my mother and sister feel the same way. Over the years she has tailored many pairs of jeans, jackets, tops for me. Most recently, she completely re-designed a dress for me for my sister's wedding. I am petite and the fabric in the dress was swallowing me. She made the dress much more form-fitting, and it looked amazing afterwards. The fabric on the dress was very fine, and when she finished it looked like the dress was originally supposed to be designed this way. I've never experienced an issue with Kim not meeting a deadline, or doing mediocre work. I highly recommend Kim. read more

Truly disappointed. I took my boots in to have the zippers fixed. I was quoted $15 and the owner, Kim, agreed to call me if the price would be any different. When I went to pick up the boots, the price was $24 - no phone call. Since I did not authorize them to do any work greater than $15, that is all I was willing to pay. What I couldn't believe was that Kim argued with me about it. She stated she actually remembered our conversation and that she agreed to call me if there was a change in price, but that 'sometimes things happen.' I told her I understood, but that it was not my responsibility. The few extra dollars were more important to her than a customer. At the end of the day, I really had to put my foot down. I also had a summer dress and a jacket cleaned separately for a total of about $30. They were cleaned well. Seems like they do a decent job cleaning, but do not go here if you expect customer focused service. read more

I had a fantastic experience with Kim at Q Cleaner and Tailor. I needed a last-minute wedding dress altered for a small backyard ceremony. Kim took in the sides, shortened the straps, and added cups to a simple floor-length white dress. I was worried that the stitching would show (the dress was thin), but Kim did a fantastic job hiding her handiwork. My wedding guests asked me what bridal salon I bought my dress at! Kim's work changed an off-the-rack white dress into a true wedding gown. She also pressed the garment, which stayed wrinkle-free all day. Would absolutely recommend for any altering needs. read more

Poor service. I dropped a toddler jacket off to be repaired (just a simple hand stitch around a button since it was falling off). I dropped off on Friday and they told me to come back Tuesday for pick up. I came to pick it up and they hadn't even started it. My toddler needed the jacket for school this week. The woman behind the counter said the seamstress was babysitting her grandkids today... which is irrelevant since it was supposed to be done today. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Beware! Q Cleaners & Tailor Acton has lost my girlfriend's special-occasion dress that I brought in for dry-cleaning. Beginning of February I brought 2 shirts and my girlfriend's dress. Two wks. later I picked up the two cleaned shirts but was told I wouldn't be charged because she still had to clean the dress. Kim said she'd call me when the dress was ready. She never called. Two wks. later I dropped by and she said she had lost the dress and that's why she hadn't charged me $20 for the shirts. I explained that this was a much-beloved and expensive dress that cost $385. She said she'd look for it. Several days later I dropped by with my girlfriend who brought the receipt for the $385 dress. Again she said she's still looking for the dress and I should stop by in 2 weeks. It's now been over 6 weeks. I've never had an experience like this at a dry-cleaners. This cleaner damaged a velvet jacket probably by ironing it incorrectly. There was a first acknowledgment of responsibility when I took in a matching skirt to show the difference. "The technician will be consulted" I was told by the owner. When I returned again, she had come up with the story that I had given her an already damaged jacket to see if she could do something with it. Fabricating a story to suggest that a client is being seriously dishonest to cover for the cleaners' mistakes makes this a business that should not be used. read more
