    FreakShakes!
    Andy N.

Review is for the FreakShakes! It's a milkshake on steroids!!! The shake itself is okay. Not as cold and as much ice cream as I thought. It's more for the Instagram worthy photos. But do check it out. Indoor and outdoor seating. Very clean area and they serve other foods and baked goods as well. Recommendation: FreakShakes

    This was amaaazing!

Patissez is world famous for their milkshakes stacked with chocolate mousse, ice cream and things you would never expect! They are everywhere on social media like facebook, instagram etc. A new hype was born that was never seen before. So of course I needed to check it out. It was a coincidence that I was planning to go to Australia to travel here, so I had a quick stop at Patissez which was really worth it! The official Facebook page said that on weekends it could be up to 4 hours wait for a table what I definitely expected because of the hype. We walked in on a Friday morning and there was plenty of place to sit down. The shake we picked was there in less then 5 minutes which is great! The staff is also very enthusiastic and friendly. The only downside in this place are the prices. You pay around 13 AUD for a shake, 65 for a whole pie,.. But it is worth it!

Was the half hour wait for a table worth it? Yes. Was the food awesome? Yes. Will I have another freakshake in the future? Not for as long as I live. Was a 10% surcharge on a Sunday absolutely crazy? YES! Let's get this first part off my chest - a 10% surcharge on Sunday and 15% on a public holiday is absolutely insane. It. Is. A. Lot! Now, down to business. The food we ordered was great. The Spanish omelette...chorizo...enough said. I wished they'd cut up the chorizo into smaller pieces and more throughout the omelette though. The sauce on the omelette was noiiiceeee. The freakshake...we ordered a mini mint one for $11.90 and we had trouble finishing it! There were people coming in ordering one each of the regular sized shakes...and finishing them. I love my sweet foods, but this is just crazy! There is so much packed in there...thank the lawd I had a piccolo to wash down the sweetness! That's not to say it didn't taste delicious...it was just too much! Yep, that's my freakshake novelty need satiated. And let's never have another one again.

The Freakshakes are bloody amazing! You will slip into a food coma but totally worth it. There's a bit of a wait for food and drink but good things come to those who wait. Can I get an amen!

The magnificent shake. Mine is warm so the cream is melting but the pecan pie on top is DELICIOUS.

I ordered a regular jug of Salty Nutz that costs $11.50. Alright here is the thing. Is it overrated? Not really since the pecan pie on top of my shake was gorgeous and even though I asked for it to be warm, it is still pretty good. The other thing, how long did I wait? I arrived at around 10 and waited for around an hour to sit in and then waited for around 30-45 minutes for our shakes. Is it worth it? Oh well. Here it goes. Basically the first few sips went like 'oh shit. OH SHIT. THIS IS SO GOOD OH MY GOD I CANNOT STOP.' The caramel and all that in my drink went down my throat and stayed there and told me again and again how sweet it is and how the salted caramel loves my throat. And then it hit me that I realize, either my tongue is malfunctioning or it is the truth that they forgot to put soy milk in mine and I am drinking one with regular milk. And then, it gets terrible. My friends and I started drinking our own and were all happy and satisfied, but the thing is that the shake jugs are pretty big and we cannot finish all of them because of the sugar. Note that I did not even eat breakfast to be prepared for this. I still couldn't finish it. The sugar... well it gave me a headache after I have gone mid-way and it is very sweet. Like seriously. I asked for salted caramel for the thing is it is insane. Not like REALLY REALLY sweet, but it is quite sweet. So.... on a scale of 0-10, it is around 8.5 on the sweetness scale. Alright, so it gives me a roller coaster ride on the sugary goodness, but well at the end of the ride it just gave me a headache, and heavy diarrhea (probably because of the milk but well well well). Conclusion: Do not get the $11.50 jug. It is too large and it makes you feel like you are going to die by the end of it. Get the smaller jug that is a bit cheaper: Same taste but you will feel better. Opinion on price: It is not that over-priced when think about the ingredients and details on the decor, but yeh.

The Nutella & Pretzel shake. Amazing!

Their Artisan bread and pastries are made in store and are pretty popular, so be sure to get there early. It's a small spot with minimal decor and only a few tables to eat at, so it's best to grab what you want as takeaway. Do you prefer their silo sourdough, rye sourdough volkornbrot, kingston, white sourdough, stirato crusty italian bread, french style white baguette, ciabattini small italian style square rolls or french style roll? So many to pick from. I buy a loaf of the walnut and cranberry for later, can't wait to eat it! Maybe you're a croissant fan - plain croissants, almond croissants, butter brioche, pain au chocolate, Orange & Pistachio Snail, Custard & Raisin or our pick of the day, the "Evie" - apple, almond & raisin in croissant pastry. Crispy and super tasty. They also have a rhubarb galettes and pear galettes From the savoury options there's quiche, pies and sausage rolls and boreks as well as sandwiches. You can even eat in at their cafe with omelettes, eggs, French toast or muesli and a coffee.

Hi, I am emailing today asking for help! There is a staff…read moremember here in Canberra ACT that is abusing and refusing to serve customers. Today at 10th January 2026 1:30pm Woden/Phillip Westfield Dibinsons. 3 staff members 2 female 1 male(short bad tempered manager) decides chatting amongst themselves was a better thing to do rather than serve my wife while she was in a rush on lunch break wanting something to eat. The male(which claims to be the manager) looked straight at my wife made eye contact while she was on the phone to me(her husband) and decided to ignore her attempts to purchase a couple of pies for lunch while she was the only person standing at the counter. She waited about 10 minutes hoping one of the lady's working would help but they to looked at her and ignored her. My wife felt unwelcome and ostracised by his behaviour and left to go back to work after having not eating anything for lunch. This short male staff member has done this multiple times to my wife and due to his behaviour last year my wife stopped attending dobinsons altogether. I have made multiple reports in store regarding, his behaviour, him swearing at me, refused service, called names while walking by dobinsons while he is on shift and even being threatened and told to meet him after work for a physical altercation. Still after all my attempts to report this unethical unfriendly aggressive behaviour nothing seems to have been done and he is still refusing to serve my wife and yelling out to me over the counter while i walk past the dobinsons at Belconnen. I was informed by the tall manager last year at belconnen dobinsons that he had been spoken to. So my wife and i were able to make purchases at Robinson's again. But after today it is apparent that the short aggressive male(manager) doesn't care about the reports made last year nor does he care about upholding a professional manner while attending/working at dobinsons. If possible to have the Short male manager even moved to Tuggeranong so neither my wife nor I have to be subjected to this kind of treatment it would be really appreciated. Not sure how someone acting like this treating customers like this is allowed to remain employed. But I think at the very least he should not be allowed to attend the Woden/Phillip nor the Belconnen Dobinsons from now on. When I find a way to take this report higher or directly to someone I will send another email/message. Thankyoy for your time. Kind regards,

However if you're a gambler and want to throw caution to the wind and laugh in the face of bad service and the chance for a rather disappointing experience than strap on your Indiana Jones costume and come on down! I had been recommended A.Baker by a mate in Sydney however my local contact had received mixed reviews. She'd never been and so we thought we'd give it a try. We came here for brunch so I can't really comment on the dinner/wine bar side of things (maybe that is their saving grace?). A.Baker looks pretty suave and funky. The layout and design inside is madhot and I always give extra points to a place that has invested time in decorating. It's honestly worth coming here just to check out the decor. The food was quite nice, but I think they were trying too hard to be avant-garde and different. I understand that the chefs want to do something new and different but it all just seemed a little bit pretentious for my simple tastes. I got the toad in the hole- which sounds weird considering my previous sentence- however it had lardo (cured pig fat) on it and some other thing I couldn't even name. Nevertheless it was rather pleasant. The coffee was alight- nothing special but definitely a good bean nonetheless. The biggest issue was the service and the treatment of the staff. They were just inattentive and did not care at all. We ordered a round of bloody marys which kind of never came. We eventually asked the waitress when we were 1/2 way through our meals and her response was that no one was in the bar... After all of us staring blankly at her for a few seconds she said that she guessed she could go ask her manager and walked off. After we'd all finished our meals and were about to give up and head off the manager came out with the bloody Mary's, put them down and hurried off. No apology for the delay or smile or anything.. This would have been fine- I'm not precious about service- however the drinks were undrinkable. I love chilli and can handle my heat, however this was like drinking Tabasco sauce. We spoke to another waiter and asked if they could be taken off the bill- which they did. Another group sat at the table next us and no waiter have them menus or anything for the 20 minutes they were there. Might also point out it wasn't busy at all. This seems to be the biggest critique of this place (the service not the Bloody Mary's) and I've heard several stories of this since going. Normally this wouldn't get in the way of good food for me. I'd be comfortable paying to eat in a gutter of a highway with the waiter spitting in my face if the food was worth it, however the overall experience just wasn't really worth it. I'm giving it two stars as the whole experience was simply disappointing. I always look for the best in a place but there were too many factors working against this place for me to ignore. The next time I come to Canberra I think I might just make my toad in a hole at home- or try and come here for a wine at night,
