Recently, we had a little leak in our water softener and we were just recently out of warranty. They still covered it under warranty. This is a wonderful company, and I would highly recommend them. After our first experience, Epic never sent me a receipt. Six months later we finally received a receipt which had "not responsible for work" on it. The guy showed up and…read morelooked at it for 1 minute and immediately said the grinding and loud noise means the washing machine is done and would cost just as much to buy a new machine. So we paid $125 for someone to come and immediately say it's not worth fixing. I think they knew ahead of time it wasn't worth fixing but sent someone out anyway and took our money. Just didn't sit right with us. On another note the tech that came out was very nice and explained the situation. We just feel robbed.

They were nice on the phone, stated they would charge us a tech call fee to come out and determine what the issue was which is understandable. They stated after they figure out what the problem is, they would apply the $125 service call to the bill if we moved forward with the repairs. After the service guy came out, which he was very nice and knowledgeable, he stated it was the 2 small switches in front and our transformer underneath. Stated it was $680 - $125 for everything. We agreed but they stated they had to order the parts and they would come back the following week around Tuesday. Tuesday came and we did not hear from them. I called them on Wednesday and they stated the parts came in and would have someone call me. Again, another day went by and no one called. I had to call back in where they told me they could not come out until Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week and would put us on the 1st stop at 8am. We scheduled for Tuesday. 8:20am came by and no word. I called and asked if someone was coming and the lady stated the service guy had to stop by the parts store to pickup the parts and then would head our way. The guy finally showed up at 8:45am. Mind you, I was advised the previous week by 2 people the parts were in and they already had them on hand. After the service guy installed the 2 switches which took about 10 -15 min, he started on the transformer. After we swapped out the transformer, he proceeded to advise us that it was not the transformer but most likely something with the internal wiring and they would have to pull the built in fridge out and start to tear things apart to find out where the break in the wire was bad. We did not want to spend the money on that. They ended up billing us $400 for 2 switches. I spoke to the manager and he stated they don't charge by the hour, just what the billing time states for the parts. I asked him for a breakdown of labor and parts and he stated they don't do invoices that way. I would assume it is THEIR way of covering all the labor they did on our fridge for something that did not need to be replaced which they misdiagnosed from the beginning. Now, here comes more horrible service: I looked under the fridge to see how things were put back as I had a bad feeling after what they did on the above. The service guy only put 1 screw back on to hold the cover plate. He did not put the other 2 screws on. After I took the cover plate off, the service guy did not put the transformer cover back on as well. He shoved it back under the fridge and put all the screws under the fridge laying on the ground. Every time you call this place, they asked you how they can put a smile on your face. What a joke. I would never use this company nor recommend them. They did not finish the job and wasted our time/money.

When you find a company that…read moreprovides outstanding service from point of contact until issue is resolved, excellent customer service, fair prices, knowledgeable staff, clean, efficient, polite, friendly, thorough in explanation and a company that stands behind their work and their employees....you stick with this company and you sing out praises to your friends, neighbors and the local community in search of outstanding companies to work with, to trust, and to build a lasting relationship for repairs or replacements. From the first time I called Frederick & Sons, I have stuck with them for all our plumbing and air conditioning needs. Now hear this, we just replaced our very old air conditioning unit on our 1970 something slump block home. Frederick & Sons installed a top of the line unit into our home and oh my goodness, what a difference in the coolness and the efficiency of this new unit; it will pay for itself in energy cost savings in no time at all! Anyone living in Arizona with the hot summers we have, knows just how important it is to have a good air conditioner and that maintaining the service on that much needed unit is vital. Days after the install of our new air conditioner, we had water coming up from a drain pipe in our laundry room floor, a shared wall for the laundry room and the room in the garage off to the side where the air conditioner return, the water softener, and a wash sink is located. Water was found on the floor of this shared wall. I called Frederick & Sons, they had Edward, one of their employees come out and that young man worked and worked and worked on the plumbing lines to find out where the blockage was in the lines. He couldn't unblock the line and was not sure if there was a broken pipe under the house. He did fix the problem of the water issue tentatively, until Leonard could come out and look over the situation. Mind you, this young man worked hard and their was no charge to us. A couple days later, Leonard showed up with three of his workers and they were fast at work. Leonard knows how the plumbing runs in some of the older homes so his diagnosis & fix to the blockage was soon resolved! Excellent!!! I was so happy. I thanked Leonard and....before I could ask him what the charge would be....Leonard stated, "there will be no charge for this work today", and I asked "why?", Leonard said, "you just bought a brand new air conditioning unit from me, I am not going to charge you for flushing out a simple blockage in your pipe; we're good", he said. I could have given him a great Big Bear Hug!!! But I didn't, of course :) If you have a plumbing, heating or cooling problem, don't hesitate to make a call to the Family at Frederick & Sons; as for my family and myself, We Love them!!!
