In the middle of cutting my hair, I showed him the pictures again to make sure he was doing his job properly. Finally, after the job was done, I was not satisfied. If you pay 256 with tip and aren't happy with your color, their answer, at least the man named Taylor, is for you to go buy a really cheap shampoo and it'll get rid of some of the pigment. When I asked why my lowlights weren't consistent, that was because the previous stylists formula is bad! (I loved Jessica but she left the salon. I can see why). Called for an appointment with a stylist, Taylor, who was highly recommended. I was unable to get an appointment with him, so the manager, Hugh recommended another stylist. Turns out she had only been there a few months, but Hugh said that all their stylists go through the same training and all are competent and all start with a 15 minute consultation . There was a very short consultation during which I clearly stated that I like my ears covered. She started cutting the right side and I immediately said, "That's really short." She continued cutting and then cut the right side of my hair even shorter. The right side is nearly 1" shorter than the left. I would not recommend this salon! read more

First I'll say that I think it's weird that my fiancé just posted a 1 star review but I don't see it on here... I'll make sure everyone's up to date. My fiancé was so excited to go have her hair and makeup trials for our wedding done here. Like ecstatic! Wouldn't stop talking about it. Got an appointment, had to move everyones schedules around so she had childcare and we could make it work. Spent $140 and after telling both the girl that cut her hair, and the makeup artist what she wanted they seemed to ignore her idea and try to sway her their way. The girl said she was going to take 1/2 inch off her hair and just strait layered it instead. My fiancé has been growing out her hair for like 3 years and Taylor just decides to chop it off. I'm not sure if she was high or what made her think it's okay to cut someone's hair like that without asking at all, but for the future ask people first before you snip 4 inches off... And the makeup was crazy. Her lipstick was all over the place. It was like a joke. I though Ashton Kutcher was going to run out and say we were on the new reboot of punk'd! So after spending close to $150 and having to fake a smile while leaving so she could cry for the whole 40 min drive back home to pick up our kids and then still crying the next day because she thinks her hair looks awful now sucks. I had a fantastic experience here today! I drove from Jacksonville because I did some research and thought Push Push would be a great fit for me. Billy and his team were more than accommodating. From the moment I walked in I was greeted and offered a beverage. During the shampoo I was given a luxurious head massage. And of course, the actual hair cut was superb. Friendly staff and hipster environment but overpriced hair coloring. Paid $55 more than I usually do for partial highlights and the blowout was not as straight as I would have liked. Push Push is a much needed addition to St. Augustine. The salon is minimalist in design yet maintains a very comfortable feel. This may have something to do with the staff being very knowledgeable and professional. I met with Billy and Olivia on my first visit and both listened and then gave me some great suggestions for my very curly hair. I went in for wedding hair and makeup trials, along with a trim. The trim and blow dry was fine, I think the cut on my hair was good. Just needed half an inch off. However the "hair trial" was all of getting my hair curled for hardly 10 minutes and the stylist teased part of my hair to make it a bump, however that did not stay longer than 2 minutes and was no longer a bump.. she gave me a half up half down look however never actually pinned my hair? I thought the purpose of the trial was to see how it would really look day of?? The makeup trial was awful. The lady was super nice, however, I am blonde, and she gave me very dark eyebrows after I already told her I don't fill them in for the reason they get too dark. She overdrew my lips to where I felt as though a child had put the lip color on.. and never used the fake eyelashes that were discussed on the phone. After the "look" was complete, I was so embarrassed because the girl was hyping it up a lot. I tried to point out the lips, she said something about for being when I eat?? And the brows, she said "leave them like that a few hours and see if you like them then". It was as though my lips and brows were fighting over attention of my face. Pretty disappointed. I went to this place today and explained exactly what I wanted. I was then told that I wanted something different. I restated what I wanted and was told I would get that. The end result was that she cut my hair the way she wanted. The back of my head was so uneven that even my mild mannered husband that always says I look good no matter what suggested that I get it recut to even it out.
