I was unsure of the place since it was new. I've always gone to someone in Jax. I figured I would take a chance on it. I called to see if they were taking new clients. The girl on the phone was super nice. She took my info and after I told her I have thick, long and curly hair that had been processed a few times. I wasn't sure what to do with the mop on my head. She said I will put you with Dennise for a consult. She's great with curly hair. I showed up and was pleasantly surprise at how nice everyone was from the girl at the front desk to other stylist. Dennise Joaquim was sweet, kind person. She spent time with me and gave me honest feedback on what to do with my damaged hair. I definitely could tell she knew what she was doing. This is definitely a 5 star salon! The service is great and the ambiance is excellent. I love the service and every one of the girls will smile and greet you. I was at a another salon for years and I never felt as comfortable and enjoyed being there as I do here. I see all the girls do beautiful work. Dennise Joaquim is my favorite 5 star stylist, who really knows hair styling and color. So happy with her service! She will listen and takes time to consult with me and gives me the best advice! I found Za Salon back in 2022 for my destination wedding in St. Augustine (they did the best hair and makeup!) and started coming here for my regular hair appointments once I moved into town permanently. For my first cut/color I had Kelly, and I am so thankful to have found the perfect stylist during my first visit! Kelly has so much experience and could deliver perfect results on any request, but her balayage/lived-in color work on my hair was better than I ever could've asked for! Finding a new hair salon is daunting, but after reading reviews, I decided to take the plunge and I booked a time with the Za Salon. I did not regret my decision. For what I needed done, I was paired up with Sam who did a great job creating subtle layers to build up volume in my thinning hair, which had previously always been styled in a blunt cut. I recently had Kelly Leebelt put in highlights and lowlights, cut and style my hair. This is the best my hair has looked in 57 years! She had to take out some of the overly platinum Highlights and gave my hair dimension and the careful long layers she put in gave me volume and style. The environment of the salon is perfect. I had an excellent experience here!! Caylee was super awesome. She taught me how to properly wash my hair, dry it, style it, etc. I'm normally pretty awkward when I get a service done (I'm not usually much of a talker), but Caylee was super friendly, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable whenever I had a question! Not a single time has a trip into Za been disappointing. The staff are always friendly and the environment is top tier for a local salon. They offer you drinks while you're waiting which is a great gesture. However, I will say it's a bummer to see the cost of a men's haircut jump in price but with inflation, this isn't the only business having to increase their rates. I recommend this place! read more

I love love love my hair color! It was done by Alaina, she did a FABULOUS job with my hi-lites and roots. She listened to what I wanted, which was a much darker root and cooler blonde hi-lites and she ABSOLUTELY nailed it!!
