What I thought was immature or undertrained staff is actually the product of a toxic, shameful and unacceptable culture. Saturday, I stopped by for something cute for a dinner date. No one greeted me or asked to help. I walked around with an arm-full of clothes... no assistance. I asked for a fitting room. Someone sorta pointed. While dressing I heard the staff GLEEFULLY welcome other patrons and offer to assist if needed. Interesting. There were only about 4 shoppers present. I was the youngest and only nonwhite person. When I stepped out of the dressing room, a staff member behind the desk merely stared at me. She didn't ask me if I liked anything, needed anything, wanted anything... total disregard. I had my teen daughters with me and for the first time was embarrassed for trying to fit into a place that obviously doesn't want me there. I will spend my money where I'm treated kindly.

When I picked up my six shoes, the leather uppers were scuffed, there was glue on the leather, the new rubber soles had residual glue not wiped off, and had been cut a little too much. I took them back and waited in the lobby for them. I imagine whoever worked on them was in a rush, tired or blind because the shoes came back looking pretty much the same. I didn't bother asking to finish the shoe as it was already pointless with my two attempts at getting the shoes decent. I would never recommend this place to anyone if you have a pair of shoes you really love. Terrible experience. I do not recommend.

I've encountered the owner at several conferences over the years and she always has lots of stock, good prices and the best service. This trip was for a possible member to-be (and of course I picked-up something for myself.) I specifically wanted a pink and green Dashiki. I picked one up for myself, as I found myself without anything to wear for our Black History Month event last month. I'm 5'4" and can wear a L, but normally order an XL. If a L fits perfectly, I normally size-up, because I prefer a loose fit. I ordered the Dashiki for myself in an XL and it fits very comfortably across my chest. It does, however, run long -- I can wear this as a dress or with leggings or a slim pant. I also ordered a green track pullover and matching pants. The quality is top-notch, a beautiful vivid green. Again the fit is very comfortable across my chest. The sleeves are long and I will need to fold the top under. I will need to have the pants cut by at least 4-6", but I love the quality. I'll deal with the sizing issues, because I haven't found a track suit like this in a while. My last favorite track suit came from our centennial conference back in 2008! I don't worry about sizing issues for my gift, because I know this person will be able to exchange, if necessary. This authorized vendor has been in business for years, and will continue to provide quality apparel and accessories with outstanding customer service.

It's always two or three girls working and every time I go there it's the same thing. Their so busy talking about who boyfriend is doing what and what club they wanna go to, they don't have time to practice good customer service skills. STOP GOING HERE Went…read morein looking for stuff to turn in to CIF. I tried picking gear that needed some cleaning to save money. I was wrong. Tried to wheel and deal but there was zero wiggle room on obviously used and abused gear. I was told "We get these straight from the manufacturer," all while I'm looking at large rust patches and wear. The guy offered to get me brand new items. That was nice but the price was still high. Of the 7 small things I wanted I left with 2 canteens and 2 canteen pouches, less money, and a sour taste for the store and the gentleman behind the counter. He did stick to his guns, there was no way I was going to leave with that used equipment for anything less than what a brand new item cost. I went down the street, passed ranger joes and turned into Tier 1 supply. This is what a surplus store is supposed to be. Friendly folks behind the counter instantly said if you got stuff to trade we do that. I got everything I needed with a couple extra things cif wouldn't take from me. Even before the trade, the price for all 7 things (2 sustainment pouches, 2 2qrt canteens, 2 2qrt covers, small stuff sack) I needed was half the price of Commandos. Tier 1 even gave me free donuts as I left. Immediately returned to Commandos to return $45 worth of canteens. Like are you kidding me.
