Hi Miss Jackie I just called your phone number and it is I think it's Thursday. Like probably a while ago but there's still living and figured the older dog is looking out after them I don't know maybe it's the mother they do not strike resemblance though there's two black and white spotted I'm having for sure what they are probably a Pitbull breed but they kind of look like they might have boxer in them according to their face features and then there's one that's I believe completely like a charcoal gray. And then the elderly dog is like a brown or an Irish cider color but shorter wiry hair what it has left of it it has heat spots and I think they're ate up by fleas. I'm not certain where they will be when you see this message but they sure could use some assistance my phone number is 850-359-8459 and my name is Christine if you'd like to speak to me thank you ma'am

WE HAVE NO HUMANE SOCIETY IN BAY COUNTY! It has been almost…read more6 years since Hurricane Michael which destroyed the official building housing the humane society. As of today 4/22/2025 there still is NO humane society or any true services to the community as described in the mission statement. All that is being done is, by appointment minimal shot clinic, no rabies shots, toe nail clippings, and "puppy play days". There are NO fund raisers, community outreach, efforts to help the community in any way, even tho the HUMANE SOCIETY OF BAY COUNTY IS SITTING ON OVER A MILLION DOLLARS! The only thing being done is the operation of a thrift store with expenses in excess of the income, while at the same time the EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR IS DRAWING A SALARY FOR DOING NOTHING BUT DRAWING A SALARY! She has claimed for years now she wants to reopen, yet nothing! The admission for Puppy Play Day is a bag of any pet food. Since the humane society sells pet food but does not operate an emergency pet food bank, I can only surmise the donated food is being sold to help cover the expenses of the store. The ED and the board of trustees are all the same people since they were appointed in 2019. There have never been any opportunities for interested individuals to run for a position on the board, the 'meetings' are closed to the public, and no printed copies of the minutes are available. In fact, no actions by the humane society are ever made public! That is very suspicious! OUR HUMANE SOCIETY IS A PUBLICLY OWNED 501c3. It is NOT owned by the ED and as a community and as some people are donators, all information should be available for public review! The ED has elected to maintain secrecy about all operations while she receives a salary for NOT HELPING THE COMMUNITY! I AM CALLING ON THE COMMUNITY TO CONTACT THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, EACH AND EVERY BOARD MEMBER AND REQUEST THEIR RESIGNATIONS TODAY! You can find the names and places of employment listed on the Humane Society of Bay County website(tab at the top of the page). If they refuse to do anything promoting the mission of helping animals at risk, then they do not need to be in those positions and need replaced with others who actually care. There is so much more to this issue, but this is how WE start to rectify this obscene mismanagement of OUR humane society! Aprilwomack48@yahoo.com

Animals often come from military families that are no longer able to care for their animals or from surrounding areas. All pets are fully vaccinated and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. I know some people have concerns about shelters, some say they are not honest. Pet Welfare is straight forward about all the pets they have. All cats and dogs have been to the vet, as frequently as needed for treatments, routine evaluations or acute concerns. They will not adopt out a pet with a known problem without disclosing it. They are an honest and loving group of volunteers that truly only want the best for the beloved animals. I can speak both as an adoptive doggie momma from this rescue and a dog volunteer, the volunteers truly love and care for these animals. They dogs are maintained in clean kennels and exercised regularly. We adopted our girl when she was brought to the shelter after being abandoned in a box with the rest of her litter mates as small puppies. My girl was so loved before we were lucky enough to bring her into our home. I am a big advocate for pet adoption. Shelter dogs have so much love to give. And the dogs at Pet Welfare are overflowing with love and potential. If you are toying with the idea of adoption you definitely need to check out the animals at Pet Welfare.

They will help you find the pet for you, you can just tell them what you want and by the way they have cats and dogs! Many adorable cats and with all kinds of personalities just like the dogs. The dogs were all ages and most really friendly and playful, the conditions aren't bad but of course I felt bad for them and wish I could take them all cause they need a home. They help you pick a good fit and have some one who will help see if the dog gets alone with any other pets and kids, also there's a little park you can play with them and see how friendly they are with you. I also looked at the cats for a while and they have a few babies, young and older ones. The people were so sweet and every one is volunteering! And better it's a no kill shelter!!! They really seem like they care and they will tell you everything they know about the dog and medical stuff so this is where I will be adopting from, I'm not sure which dog yet but I'm hoping when I play with some that I'll know, they also have all kinds of dogs big and small, they all need a home and it's 100$ to adopt I believe which Isn't bad and it's going to keeping up with a good place.

Heartland Rescue Ranch - Since she does not want you sending animals to Heartland than im assuming she will take them in. She will need a bigger camper.

Amy didn't have the correct paperwork…read morefor the kitten so I contacted the name on the paperwork she did give me in hopes to find out what was going on. Come to find out, Amy adopted that kitten to me, but it actually belonged to another. The lady wanted her kitten back, so I gave it back.....what else could you do? I found out that the same lady paid for all of the kittens to be fixed and yet saw on Amy's HHR FB page that she was asking for donations for the kittens to be fixed. This is when I learned the rest of the story. Amy promised to house a group of kittens for the lady until she got her place up and running after the hurricane. Apparently, Amy forgot she made that deal and was giving those same kittens away. This is one crazy story.......you can't make this up. In the long run, I ended up adopting a kitten that was taken from HHR because it was on its way to death. Amy put the kitten in a rabbit cage with a huge male rabbit where not only was the rabbit abusing the kitten, but the cage itself was disgustingly filthy from neglect. (Neglect is a good word because I've seen it many times there at HHR) The lady that took the kitten, paid for the vet bills for a two month healing. Yes, it took two months to nurse that baby back to health. The lady said she had to give that baby 3 baths to get all of the rabbit remains off. (I try not to think about it because it makes me sick) When Amy was asked why she would ever put a kitten in with an adult male rabbit, she said that nobody likes black cats anyways. Well, let me tell you........that baby is now two years old and as happy as happy can be with all of her zooming around this house. She knows this house belongs to her and she is Queen of Everything!
