At the recommendation of a friend, my husband and I had lunch at the Alabama Pecan Company Café…read more(APC) today and, oh my, oh my, was that ever a good decision!
The restaurant itself is unpretentious, tasteful, and incredibly welcoming. Simply put, nice digs.
Before I even get to the food, though, I have to talk about the service. APC offers the kind of attentive, polished service you expect from high-end dining, while still managing to feel warm and relaxed.
Our server, Kaley, was so wonderful that I was jokingly disappointed to discover I couldn't just bundle her up and take her home with me! She is absolutely adorable, but more importantly, she provides genuinely exceptional, top-level service. Attentive, personable, knowledgeable, and an absolute pleasure.
And now, on to the food fun.
My husband is a retired Executive Chef, and we are both real serious foodies. We live for really good food, and APC absolutely delivered.
I ordered the Steakhouse Bowl, and my husband had the Spicy Peach Sandwich, and when I asked him how he liked it, he stopped eating just long enough to inform me that it wasn't "good." It was "awesome." Then he promptly went back to eating.
My own lunch was every bit as impressive. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, with each one retaining its own distinct, natural flavor, something far too many restaurant kitchens manage to cook right out of them.
APC is not afraid of flavor. In fact, they embrace it, and they do it beautifully.
From the atmosphere, to the exceptional service, to food that was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious, this was just a really great dining experience.
We will most definitely be back, and I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone who hasn't tried Alabama Pecan Company Café to do so.
Go hungry. You will not be disappointed!
