We had a FaceTime call first (she was going out of town) so she could see what needed to be fixed and I was able to hear what her plan would be to correct it. I loved it! I was on board and booked my appointment with her. The day of I sat in her chair and she proceeds to put her hands through my hair ... "ohhh yeahhhhh". We talked about the plan, she told me the steps she was going to do and proceeded to gingerly cut away. I also got a shampoo and blow-dry with my haircut. Loved that nice touch on massage! She left me looking 10/10 when she was done! She was so gracious telling me if there is something that needed to be fixed to let her know and she'd do what she could to get me in. I did make one quick trip back but that was not to her fault. We knew that we were going to have to do a grow out to really correct the issue since we are trying to save some length. I am that girl that either doesn't brush her hair in the morning (true story) and just makes sure it's laying nice by running some pomade over flyaways because I do not like using heat! OR I take 5 minutes and use that round brush blowdryer (get you one! so fast!) and the picture I posted was that day. I'm very happy with the results. She had alot to fix and she delivered! Coincidentally my aunt went to another butcher, I mean barber, I mean stylist and was in the same situation. I immediately sent her Michelle's info and she booked an appt. First time here, parked on a side street but peeped a driveway that may possibly lead to their own in parking lot out back. Forgot to ask. But plenty of street parking on the side streets or out front (hour parking). Cool looking shop. You immediately enter into a small coffee shop. The monthly specials looked enticing. Might have to book an earlier appt next time to indulge in that. Showed up to my appt a few minutes early and was helped right away by barber Damaris. Great first experience. Never rushed and she worked methodically. The bald shave was sensational with the balms and creams. My sensitive skin didn't act up. Next was the beard trim, also a first for me since I usually trim it myself. The fade on the sideburns to rest is buttery smooth and even on both sides. Will be considering this service every few months or so. It's nice to be pampered. Oh yeah, the massage was solid after a long day of work. I did enjoy the decor. And the playlist today was on point. Once I grew my hair back out, I started trying local barbershops, but none really stood out. Then I found Warhair in Burbank. I called first, and Rod was really helpful. He recommended Rudy, who he mentioned was newer to the shop but very experienced, with great availability throughout the week. I decided to give it a shot, and I'm glad I did. The shop itself has a great vibe -- very modern and clean, but still offers old-school barbershop touches like hot towel and straight razor services. What really impressed me, though, was Rudy's attention to detail. He actually looked at my head shape and explained that leaving the back a little longer would help balance out my flat head. No barber had ever pointed that out or given me that kind of thoughtful advice before. On another visit, I mentioned I was thinking about growing the top out and slicking it back. Rudy explained that going a different direction would make my hair look fuller, then took the time to style it so we could actually see what looked best. That level of care and honesty is hard to find. I've gone back 4 times now, and I can honestly say I found my barber. Highly recommend Warhair, Rod, and especially Rudy.
