Xander was the person in charge and he gave me an estimate and said he needed to check on another job but would send another team to take care of the removal of the vanity in my daughter's bathroom, and put the equipment, he later return to check that the growth was removed, checked with his camera, took pictures and advised to remover the rest of the sheetrock since the growth was all the way to the ceiling. Xander said he would send a proper report with all the pictures, that was on July 28th, I did not receive the report. The equipment was removed on July 31st; my boyfriend was with the team and ask again about the report, they told him they would send it once they would get to the office - nothing was sent. I texted Xander on August 8th, he said the other team should have sent the report but that he would send once he was back to the office - this is the 3rd time I've been told I would receive a report - nothing. I texted him again and sent him my email, maybe he lost it, no reply. Today August 10th, I called the company, Jared answered and he said he would send a reminder to the mitigation coordinator; it is 5 pm and I haven't received anything and I did not receive a formal invoice for the services I paid for. There is still a small smell of growth in the bathroom, I hope it goes away, but for sure, they promise things they don't do and once paid, they couldn't care less.

Two cleaners were sent out, and after approximately 8 hours, they left having completed only about half of the home. The areas they claimed to have cleaned were not done thoroughly or professionally. Despite this, I was told I still needed to pay the remaining balance because the workers "showed up and worked," even though the job was incomplete and poorly done. What was most concerning was the lack of communication and accountability: The team became "overwhelmed," yet I was never informed while they were on-site, even though I was present the entire time The owner later admitted she received updates and photos from her supervisor but still did not notify me Instead of correcting the issue, I was offered the option to pay additional hourly fees ($50-$90/hour) for someone else to finish the job that should have been completed initially I expressed my dissatisfaction and even provided photo evidence of the incomplete and poorly cleaned areas. Despite this, I felt pressured to pay the remaining balance to avoid potential conflict after just closing on my home. This experience was unprofessional, poorly managed, and not worth the cost. A deep cleaning service should be thorough, organized, and communicative--this was none of those. Cameron, I thought was wonderful at the beginning of our home mold remediation process. He reached…read moreout, we scheduled a day and time for the inspection and he then sent me a mold remediation information flyer before our appointment date. During the inspection he seemed knowledgeable and confirmed to me that he was licensed in mold remediation. He was very concerned with the state of the house and with our safety being in it. We have VERY high humidity levels, poor air circulation in the home and high moisture readings in almost every wall of the house. We sent the report we received after the inspection to our landlord and they talked price points for the job. The day of the job Cameron was no where to be seen despite texting me at 11:30am to confirm our 2pm appointment and another shortly after said there was an "emergency" at another job location and he would be arriving soon after his partner. At 1:30pm Cameron's partner arrived. The gentleman at the door said he was here to start the processes of covering home items and that Cameron should be there shortly. What he actually did was haphazardly cover about 1/4 of my items with the thinnest painter sheets I've ever seen and stuck it up with blue painters tape. He also took off every single baseboard and put them out on the street. At 4:30pm, after all the baseboards of the house had been remove and put on the street Cameron finally arrived. He was at the property for exactly 30 min. He was supposed to be at the job the entire time, doing follow up readings, carefully inspecting the areas of the house that are behind the baseboards to check for mold and wet wood, ect. Instead, in those 30 min he unloaded his truck of the fans, blowers, and large dehumidifier and set them up in the house. He made a phone call to someone outside at some point, showed me how to use the dehumidifier, and I showed him a couple of areas that were so obviously mold, that him telling me the house was "fine" and "safe" was insane. The house is very small and I was present the entire time during the days process. He never looked at anything. Not a thing. Then just gave it the ok and expected us to blow mold all around the house, us, and our pets for the next 3 days. He lied to me about being licensed in mold remediation and doing a fake mold remediation inspection. Which he wrote a report for water mitigation to the home owners which is his actual license (that's what he back tracked and said at least) BUT if mold was found during the removal of the baseboards he was supposed to stop everything and a new plan of action was supposed to take place. He wasn't here for any of that and didn't bother to look or care. He tried gas lighting me saying that he was at the house the whole time, that him and the other guy covered everything, and he sprayed anti microbial on everything which.... None of that happened. Save your energy, time, health,money, and literally everything inside your home and call a different company. Oh yeah, the guy that was at the house with me for 2 1/2 hours waiting on Cameron to show up, stole money from us as well. They spotted the camera outside but obviously not the ones inside.

Luis sent his guys over to resolve the issue, but instead of properly addressing the true issue, they glued the planks down. As time passed, more planks started to come up. It turns out that they never laid down a moisture barrier, so I'm at risk of eventually having to replace the entire flooring down the line. I expressed this discovery to Luis and nothing.... not a response, not an explanation, just a read text message. He doesn't return phone calls, nothing. He's there in the moment, fools you into thinking all is well, and just cuts you off. Be careful and do your homework before hiring Morningstar Restoration. These guys aren't true professionals, just a bunch of his friends that have some experience. Not to mention, they used 2 different brands of vinyl planks, prompting them to modify one type to align with the other. Per true professionals, this was a lazy and cheap installation. The fact that I have to call Luis from random numbers to get a response, the fact that he's aware of my issue and won't even acknowledge me... this is what speaks to his character. When hiring this company, please make sure you understand his method, compare to other professional plans, and refine your warranty and expectations after services are complete.

After they showed up 7 hours late one day, I told them I no longer wanted their services. The owner called, apologized, and promised they would do better if I gave them one more chance. Things didn't really improve--they were still late to every appointment, just not as extreme. The final straw came when they missed a confirmed 8 AM appointment. The owner texted me saying the police had stopped them and wouldn't let them leave. The excuse felt suspicious, so I had a friend text them from a different number, inquiring about cleaning services. They responded promptly, saying they were heading to clean a house in Pearland and could come by later that evening--completely contradicting what they told me. When I confronted the owner, there was no apology. Instead, he told me the price would increase and refused to come unless I agreed. I told him that was unprofessional and that I'd be leaving a review so others know what to expect. Only then did he start calling and texting multiple apologies and saying they'd honor the original price--but by then, my decision was made. Bottom line: If you book with them, don't expect your time to be respected. If they cancel, the excuse may not be the truth.
