It's an easy off the 95 at Rancho and then a quick turn on Bonanza. I was shown to a two top. I was asked if this was my first time there and I was given a hearty welcome. I had looked at the menu online and I wondered about the pulpo in the appetizer section as being enough for a person for a dinner. The server assured me it was a large enough dish that it would be fine. The menu describes the dish as--Grilled octopus, baby medley potatoes, Peruvian chile sauce and homemade tartara sauce. The server also brought me a small container of aji verde which had a good zing to it. The octopus was probably the best I've gotten at a restaurant. Tender, easy to cut, and very flavorful, it was enough for a meal. For dessert I got theior ice cream--helada de lucuma. The lucuma is a fruit nztive to the Andean valleys of Perus and other Sotuh American countries. The iced cream came with an alfajoron top. Thiis is a sot cookie filled with dulce de leche. It made a fine ending to a great meal. I liked the setting. It was noisy at first as there were 3 tables of about 10 people each when I arrived. It was definitely a family spot. Service was top notch and I really liked their small lights turned on when you were seated. I will be back to try their lomo saltado. I had it once in Los Angeles, and it is a tasty dish that is quite filling. I've had Peruvian food before, but this was the best I've had including two places in LA. Moia, why were you hiding all this time?

They offer a limited menu of a few ceviches, 4 Peruvian Sandwiches, and a variety of empanadas. You order and pay at the counter and someone runs out your order when it is ready. The food is made fresh to order and takes at least 20 minutes. We started with fish ceviche. We received a very large bowl of marinated fish with Peruvian Embellishments (Peruvian Corn, onion salsa, corn nuts, sweet potato, plantain chips) and it was reasonably good. The sandwiches here are like no others. They are very generously packed with filling and were on a very good quality rolls. The Pork sandwich was PACKED with lots of flavorful pork and some sweet potato. The sweet potato gave the sandwich something very special. It was moist, creamy, and sweet and really complimented the pork. I tried the chicken sandwich. I was surprised that it was chicken salad. It was very creamy and packed with LOTS of chicken salad. It seemed freshly made and was shredded very nicely. It was so big that I had to eat the one half like two open sandwiches and took the other half home. I also added a little bit of the salsas to it to kick it up a little for fun. If you are a foodie you are going to want to try a Peruvian Sandwich here.
