PureBread remains one of my favorite places to pick up lunch from! I've never tried anything I didn't like, but my favorites are the Newfoundland panini (the spicy chipotle mayo is sooo good) and their lobster bisque. I've picked up takeout from them a few times since COVID and it appears they're doing a good job at taking all necessary precautions. Convenient, fresh, tasty! Pure bread has got it all when you are looking for a good affordable lunch spot. They have an extensive lunch offering of salads soups and Sammies. Cannot remember the name of my sandwich but it had bacon chicken cheese and ranch, was toasted and was heavenly! Awesome little sandwich/salad/soup spot outside of Wilmington. They are quick and friendly, so a great spot if you're on the move. Whole foods with fresh ingredients. Vegetarian friendly too. Sandwiches are cute because they are dog breeds. Tried the chihuahua and it was good. Got a combo with a salad (can also do so with a soup) to make it a bit more diverse. Spinach was a little old, so it might have been an off day. I love that you can build your own sandwich or salad too, really gives you freedom if you're particular. They have coffee and outdoor seating as well (for warmer months). Decor was cute, people were nice. Tried to return but they were closed. Great place for breakfast or lunch. Just had the breakfast sandwich with everything bagel, lox, cream cheese, tomato, onions and capers. Good coffee too. My entire family's favorite sandwich is the Newfoundland. Just picked up of those 3 sandwiches to go for later. Cookies, muffins and baked goods are excellent as well. It's ... fine, I guess. I feel like Purebread has slipped a bit from years past. My last visit, I ordered a full sandwich and cup of lobster bisque. I got mostly bread, a tiny bit of prosciutto and mozzarella, barely a hint of pesto, and flavorless, unripe tomato. What the bisque lacked in lobster and cream was more than made up for with salt and cheap sherry. I can't remember what husband ordered, but we were both kind of shocked by the delta between cost and quality. On top of all that, the person behind the register gave me a blank stare until I asked if she was able to take my order. Service has REALLY slipped. This used to be such a friendly, fun place to stop by for lunch. What happened? I can't say I'll be back anytime soon. I got the "Breeders combo" (The restaurant is dog themed) with a 1/2 size Cobb Salad and a cup of delicious lobster bisque (not much lobster in it, but still tasty). My hubby's parents live in Greenville, so we make it a point to swing by Purebread on Saturday mornings whenever we visit. I've never been a huge sandwich person, but I love everything that I've gotten here - usually the Doberman (smoked salmon, cream cheese, red onion, capers, tomatoes) or the French Poodle (turkey, brie, sundried tomatoes, spinach, champagne mustard on a baguette). Hubby is a fan of the grilled egg white tortilla wrap. The gourmet soups and salads also look tasty, but I have a hard time deviating from my go-to! While the prices are a hair higher than you'd find at other delis, I think it's worth it for the higher quality ingredients and more 'upscale' atmosphere. It's very quirky, with all the menu options named after dogs (I didn't see one for pugs so that's my greatest complaint as they're by far the cutest breed.....). Service was fast despite how busy they were at noon. Nice outdoor seating area. There's a good delivery system; upon ordering you receive a stick with a picture of a dog (each one is different) so the waiters know who to bring the food to. Came by for a quick lunch yesterday with my partner and 10 month old. The staff was great and gushed over our baby (which every parent loves). The food was amazingly constructed with great taste (although not the most filling - I could've eaten at least two more before feeling full.) Couldn't give five stars because I was disappointed with their drink choices. Their fountain drinks are limited (Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, lemon lime something, root beer, lemonade, pomegranate soba something and water), overly sweet/syrupy and flat. For a place with such a nice atmosphere, decor, location, food selection - the drinks just didn't match up. They really should invest in one of those coke multichoice machines like Moe's and Five Guys have or go the bottled drink route. read more

I enjoy occasional visits to this establishment either early in the mornings or for some lunches. I find that this location is the most inviting of metro Wilmington Purebreads, possibly because of its interior and exterior seating and that it's adjacent to a wooded area in bucolic Greenville. Their muffins are always fresh and a highlight, although I wonder if they really need to cost $2.25. I've found that their drinks can often overdo the flavor, as with a recent vanilla latte frappe that quickly turned into a frozen drippy mess, and a flavored latte that wore its taste too strong. However, their combined sandwich and salad, or soup and salad, orders offer extremely generous portions for modest prices - much better than the equivalent at Panera Bread. It's very easy to make two meals out of them! read more

Walking in I was so confused with why all the sandwich names were dog breeds but then I realize Pure Bred! All the dog pictures around the cafe give it a nice touch. Anyways, solid lunch. For $9.29 the breeders combo comes with your choice of two: sandwich, soup, salad. The portion was perfect as I got the Jack Russel and Cobb salad. The sandwich had juicy white meat chicken while the salad was filled with chicken, bacon, bleu cheese, red onion, and half an avocado! After planning our trip to Winterthur this past weekend I started looking for places in the area to have lunch and discovered Pure Bread Deli right down the road. Hubby and I have a golden retriever that is the center of our universe so finding a place that is not only pet friendly but whose entire menu is named for dogs was super exciting. We got to the restaurant a little before 1 and it was still pretty busy but we managed to score a booth inside and placed our order. The way this place works is you place your order at the counter, they give you a table flag and bring your food out once it is ready while you relax and enjoy the dog videos and guest pet photos on the 2 televisions in the dining area (if you're a dog owner be sure to go to their website to upload your dog's photo, I did just that as soon as we got home). They have so many great menu items to choose from but being a golden mom, I felt obligated to get the Golden Retriever Sandwich - turkey, provolone, sun dried tomatoes and basil pesto on grilled focaccia and it was delicious and since hubby and I always split everything we also ordered a Breeder's Combo (choice of 2 menu items) and got the Santa Fe Chicken Salad and Broccoli & Cheese Soup and to satisfy our sweet tooth I got a Cranberry Orange Muffin with Walnuts - grilled - which I highly recommend (we were recently introduced to the joy of grilled muffins on a recent trip to Maine and I was beyond thrilled to see them offered here). Our entire meal, from start to finish, far exceeded my expectations and I only wish there was a location closer to our home in the Baltimore area. The staff here go above and beyond to ensure that you leave happy and satisfied, the place feels more like a full service restaurant than those that actually are that's for sure. They had some complimentary super cute car magnets throughout the dining area so I definitely scooped up on those. I love the chihuahua sandwich and tomato basil soup. The sandwich is grilled chicken, Pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, & avocado on cheddar bread. But you can either choose from many different varieties of sandwiches or salads, too! They also have soft and delicious chocolate chip cookies. It's just slightly pricey for what it is. They seem to have more options for sandwiches than say, Panera, which is a nice change. To be honest, I haven't tried many different options here. Overall, I generally will at least stop in for soup when I'm in the area. I do want to try a grilled muffin the next time I stop by - I'm told they're heavenly! read more

This is a really nice PureBread location. I ate here a few weeks ago and ordered the Santa Fe chicken salad. I love a good salad with chicken and avocado, and this salad was loaded up with chicken. My only issue was I asked for egg Whites on a bagel and I got something with spinach and tomatoes and mayo-since I thought I was just getting what I ordered. I was disappointed-but, it was Labor Day and I didn't want to send it back The bathroom facilities are gender neutral and handicapped accessible which impressed me as well. This place is amazing. It is similar to Panera but the quality of the food is so much better. They offer a 1/2 soup,sandwich or salad combo. I ordered the Cobb (which was outstanding) and a sandwich with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, pesto and peppers. It was really tasty. Good Food at a Decent Price with an outside patio so you can take your pup...I'm in! The menu is like any other smaller breakfast / lunch place, just with a dog theme. What is to be noted here is that they do the food well. Good Quality Food + Fast Execution of Order + Well Training Staff = A Success. They know what they are doing in the front of the house when taking your order and it carries over to the back of the house where your food is prepared. I LOOOOVE this place. I recently started working in Delaware, ok not so recent, 2 years ago.. but, anyway, I'm just so glad my co-worker introduced me to this cute deli/sandwich cafe! All their sandwiches are named after dog breeds (purebread, get it get it?) And they're all so good. I particularly like the "Chihuahua" especially when pressed into a panini. Although I'm not fond with this breed of puppy, the sandwich is delicious! Read the ingredients and you won't deny it either. I also love the "golden retriever" too (and that breed too.) Soups and salads are wonderful, particularly lobster bisque, mushroom bisque, and broccoli cheddar..I like creamy soups, can you tell? The caprese salad is great with balsamic glaze, and pesto! (huge portion for just half a salad). Everything here tastes fresh and well made. yum yum yum. Puppy photos everywhere, and there's even a slideshow of photos of puppies and dogs that may have been sent in by owners. So cute! Definitely recommend to everyone around here (and I have been spreading the word). Wished Philly could open this in place of Cosi.. Very disappointed. Although I'm usually not impressed with this chain. Our sandwiches hardly had any meat on them and for the price of our lunch they have to be making a killing. I think they could afford to add a couple of more slices of meat. Most of the soups seem to be thickened with cornstarch or something, they have a gelled texture to them. Great muffins and bagels. But we've ordered lunch here through DoorDash twice recently, and the cost was a little ridiculous. The food is always pretty good, but $12-14 for a sandwich is not worth it for me personally. I would recommend eating in or picking up directly from them.
