The associate's name was Jason and he called ahead and gave me a time slot and then arrived inside of that slot. He needed all of about 15-20 mins and said he had it back working like new after installing some new valves. He gave me a lot of helpful advice about how well it's working now, when to add salt, and how to set my hardness ratio on the machine. For the $100 bucks that included the visit and the time and the parts, this was truly well spent money. I really appreciated the rare professionalism from my initial call until the problem was fixed. The associate very kindly answered all my questions patiently. When I need another softener, these guys are getting my first call. First rate operation.

We moved into our house in 2021. There was already a Culligan Mark 89 with the flow meter so it ran…read morewhen needed (after 800 gallons). It softened the well water. I added salt, it softened the water. Comed power would come and go, I would reset the clock so that it would cycle at night. 22 years passed. It softened the water. Recently noticed a very slight change in water from activated carbon filter water in refrigerator (sourced directly from unsoftened water). Also started getting harder water in shower, Asked Culligan Water of Crystal Lake to inspect for their standard service fee. Tested the water and found that it was cycling correctly by testing the warm water (hard) and the cold water (soft), compared to the un-softened well water (really hard). Adjusted the cycle to run at 600 gallons instead of 800 gallons. Soft water again after the hard water finally cleared from water heater. Technician was super polite, technically strong, didn't want to sell me anything new, assured me that the system was working great and that they could service all but the flow meter (hasn't been manufactured for years, appears to be separate supplier - fleck). Very happy, hopefully won't have to call them again because the product just works that well. PS try to find a picture of a Mark 89 with a flow meter on the web. Rare as hen's teeth. From patent on flow meter, appears to be a very old Fleck.

First was in 2020 for our water heater, which they seamlessly installed and for a reasonable price. We also had to use them about 3 times over 2022-2023 due to our plumbing issues. Every time we called, they were extremely prompt and quick in coming out to check out the situation. The first time we had called them for our plumbing, they took care of unclogging it and sussed out the real cause behind it. We just weren't able to fund the bigger project behind it. We had to call again 6 months later, which was expected since the problem wasn't fixed but just temporarily dealt with (due to us- not them). That time, we got more information on the issue at hand and they did some more looking into it for us and told us how we will have to approach the project whenever we were ready to do the work and had the finances. 6 months after that, we got to the point where we had to just pull the plug and do the project. We were allowed to do as much of the work to our bathroom as we could/ wanted. My husband did the drywall and flooring to help save on costs. Dan and Josh redid all of our piping, as that was what was causing the issues at hand. It was super easy to schedule the appointments with them for them to come and re pipe and re vent our bathrooms and again to set the sinks and toilets in when we were done with the remodel. They were so helpful and we were shocked at how reasonable the price for such a lengthy project was. The work was high quality and we will always recommend calling Trailblazer! They test each toilet (as I had done previously) but did not find the problem. Eventually Christian identified the problem was with the water softener and contacted the company with me and arranged for a service call. Great job. No complaints there. He was a professional and his service was appreciated. Then he completed his "pathfinder inspection" and recommended a new sump pump (w/back-up) and ejector pump. Cost: $5162!! I talked to a neighbor who recently (approx. 1 yr. ago) replaced their sump and ejector pump and paid about $3000. I called a couple other plumbers and was given a "ballpark" estimate of $3000-3500 for the same service and they were supplying great equipment (based on my research). He also recommended we replace all of our compression stop valves (8 in total) and install braided hose lines at a cost of $400/ea. Parts cost for stop valves and hose lines are less than $20 each at Menards. $200 in parts and $3000 in labor? If it took 8 hours (unlikely) to change all 8 hook-ups that would work out to about $380/hr. in labor. I know plumbers earn a good wage, and they deserve it, but this is ridiculous. He also quoted me $500 to replace a toilet flush valve! A toilet flush valve is $15-20 max at Menards. I have done that job several times in the past and it took me less than an hour. And I am not that handy. If this isn't price gouging, I don't know what is. I would do all of this work but I am recovering from 2 major surgeries and just can't get down to the valves or lift heavy equipment. So they wanted $9000 to do some really simple work that would have taken a day, at most. I don't have a problem with what they recommended but their charges are ridiculous. I initially gave them a deposit (bad decision on my part) which I asked them to return but they are charging me $100 to refund my own money! And on top of it all, they do not give a veterans discount. All in all, find a different plumber because these guys will rob you blind.

Well they person they sent to my house, Mason Lies, wasn't pleasant at all. Far from it! He came in and proceeded to test our water. From the moment he tested it, he just went on and on how bad our water was and bashing us as homeowners on how he can't believe how long we went on with this water and without a water softener. Just kept saying that over and over. At one point, he was talking and started chuckling, and he said "sorry, i was just thinking on how bad this water is and how long you guys been at this home with this horrible water". Once he presented the pricing, mind you he didn't explain their system AT ALL! We had no idea why their systems are better than other companies or what they even do to clean the water. I told him we needed to discuss it before we committed to anything. He literally got mad and told us "What is there to think about?? You have horrible water! Nothing to think about, you need this really bad! This is your health we are talking about here, your kids health!". I kept my cool as I didn't want to be rude back. Once we kept on telling him it was a lot of money and we weren't going to make a decision right then and there. He was pretty upset, packed his stuff and left. Only reason I gave it 2 star is because the manager Jason reached out to me and I told him what happened. And since then, he has been reaching out to me to make things better. The service calls take 10-14 days so if you have a problem call to setup immediately or you will be waiting a long time for service. Day of service Is old school where they give you a 4 hour window. They will not text when they are on their way. If you have a choice, choose another company. They closed their office in St John and moved everything to Merrilville. The bill they sent for service was wrong. They also charged $5.00 to send me the bill calling it paper processing. They did not honor what the salesman told us about service call fees. Wish I would have went with Eenigenberg water as in my prior house.
