I'm not trying to be dramatic by saying this was the message I've ever had! Jill isn't a masseuse because she wants money, she's doing this to make you feel better. I didn't feel like just another customer, she took the time to find out what was going on with me and what I needed and tailored it to me. This was the worst massage I've ever gotten. No massage techniques were used. I paid $140 to get rubbed down with oil. I made it clear before the massage that I needed a deep tissue massage. She waited until after the massage to say she can't do deep tissue massages. Save your money and go to a professional. Do not waste your time here. read more

I've been having terrible back pain, so I was (& unfortunately still am) in desperate need of a deep-tissue massage on my back which is the whole purpose of me going there. I filled out the paperwork, & was extremely specific as to where on my back I needed it, both on the paperwork & verbally, multiple times, but Jill totally ignored me, & started on my feet. She also kept leaving to put more oil on her hands which would take about 5 minutes, every 5 minutes. When I'd try to politely tell her what I needed, she would acknowledge it, put more oil on her hands, then continue doing exactly what she'd already been doing, which was not what I asked for or needed. I also hate having oil in my hair but she kept messing with it even after I'd told her that was off-limits. It was the most unsatisfying, frustrating experience I've ever had, & back pain is still the same as it was before I went. read more

I think my blonde hair got the best of me. :) Nichelle was very friendly and welcoming and addressed all my needs and concerns before the massage. Nichelle is a clear professional. She spent the fitst 10min or so asking about my work, my fitness routine, and the specific issues I was having. During the session she assessed the trouble areas and decided to employ cupping, which I had never had done before, and it was very effective. It was a Sunday afternoon and I did something to my back the day or two before and was progressively getting worse. What did I do you ask? That was the question since I was not even entirely sure. I complained and contemplated back and forth on what I should do. I finally gave in and decided to get a massage. The search led me to Pure Serenity because my usual place was booked. I searched via Yelp and found Pure Serenity. Upon looking at their website I was able to book the same day without any problems. Lucky me! I received the confirmation message and emails to confirm my booking. Before my booking, I did get a text message from Jill letting me know she might be a few minutes because she had to run home to let her dogs out. I appreciated the heads up on that and was not even an issue come appointment time. I arrived about 15 minutes early to Pure Serenity. It was easy to find and has other offices located within the building. Once inside the suite, there were multiple rooms divided by heavy curtains.I was slightly concerned about my treatment because I thought I would be able to hear others outside in the waiting area. I was wrong since the only noise I heard during my massage was a nearby train and of course relaxing zen music. Jill had me fill out an intake form before she started my massage and we quickly went over what I wanted. My massage went over time and didn't even notice. She later commented that she could have spent hours on my back since it was quite a mess. My upper back always is my problem area since I hold my stress there. I regularly get monthly massages because of this issue among overall health. Jill was very personable and friendly person. We talked afterward a little about where we grew up my move to Austin last year, school, etc. The issue I know have is I have a regular massage therapist I see at another place. I really like Pure Serenity and my other place a lot. Each has their pros and cons for me on a personal level. I have considered in the future alternating between Pure Serenity and my usual place. read more

I visited Pure Serenity on Sunday after waking up with the most tension in my neck and shoulders that I had ever experienced. I never had a massage before so I was a little nervous when choosing a place to go. I only scheduled a 30 minute massage since it was my first time and I did not know what to expect. I was met in the lobby by Emy before we started she asked me what areas I wanted to focus on since it was a shorter session. Then showed me ways to help relive my tension at home or work by stretching. That in itself was relaxing. The massage was so rejuvenating I almost feel asleep within the first 20 minutes. Pure Serenity uses doTerra essential oils (serenity and purify enriched my experience) to provide an exceptional massage. I will definitely be back! read more

Finding a reasonably priced massage is very hard to find in the austin area. Not only that, find quality is even harder. Using Groupon doesn't always guarantee you a same day appointment or even the same week appointment for the massage your needing. I was fortunate enough to find pure serenity via google maps/ Yelp. I was able to book an appointment with ester the same day! Not only did she give me a 90 minute sports massage, she was able to fit my boyfriend in for a 60 min massage right after. The location is a bit hidden, but hidden gems are always the best, not only that but quiet! The atmosphere is peaceful and with a home-like feel. Now to speak of the quality of my massage. Ester is purely amazing. My mother is a physical therapist & I would have to say she definitely compares! If your looking for relaxation, medium pressure, or even a sports related massage, she's your go to person! The quality, the technique, and her presence is worth every dollar. I will continue to see her every 2-4 weeks. She's really good and customizing to you - what your comfortable with and what your needs are. Personally I have all sport related injuries such as a bad lower back, a bad left shoulder, TMJ headaches, and currently a hernia. She was very accommodating with adjusting to my needs and very precise with the pressure I was looking for! I feel absolutely amazing today and ready to get back on a plane for work tomorrow. I love this place, it was recommended to me by a friend when I was having troubles with my herniated disc. Sessions helped a lot and I went several times. Jill works magic with her hands, released a lot of pressure I was feeling and was able to walk semi-normally after the session when I could barely walk before. Hey! If this is your first time to Pure Serenity then take a gander at this. Esther is the bees knees. She really knows what she is doing. You may wonder 'how does she know?' 'it's as if she knows me' kind of moment. She hits the spot that you've been saying is nearly 'killing you' and puts that baby in a swaddle and soothes it away. It's because she has been taught by some amazing people in San Francisco. And because of her discipline she really takes the cats meow. So if you're reading this then check her out. You'll want to nap in the lobby because your body is warm, toasty, and most importantly relaxed. You'll wonder if it's some type of sorcery...but it's not...its real and now comes the crazy part... Today I had my second massage at Pure Serenity. My first was several months ago with Jill...It was great! Tammy gave me a deep tissue massage today and it was awesome! I cannot wait to go back in three weeks for another! (I scheduled online last night, thinking what are the odds of getting in last minute?) I have had many massages at different places in and around Austin, inexpensive to pricey, mostly underwhelmed due to inconsistent massages, upselling, last minute appointment changes, talking incessantly, showing me exercises during the massage session, etc. White Stone Day Spa is less than a mile from my house and is now under new management. Unfortunately, I could not get a call back or a response to email appointment request, I guess it wasn't meant to be and now I am glad it worked out the way it did. (Recently, had a less than favorable experience with Om Massage - My sister's treat)... I think I have finally found the place for me!
