I'm beyond happy with my Urban Commuter bike from Pure Cycles. Super comfortable, agile, and durable especially riding the streets of LA. I get a lot of questions from folks when I'm riding it because the style is so cool. I took it on a 50-mile ride one day and it performed incredibly well. I also have their 3-speed city bike, which I use for casual riding and errands. And I love that bike too. I've owned and ridden lots of bikes over the years, and my Pure Cycles bikes are the ones I keep riding. I decided to put a rear rack on my Urban Commuter and went to the Pure Cycles shop in Burbank. That place is so cool. They have everything and super affordable. Found myself spending a lot of time there. The staff was super-friendly and knowledgeable, and it was clear they love what they do. I've been an owner of a Pure Cycle fixie for about three years now. It's been stylish, dependable, and a great ride for cruising around the neighborhood. When I visited their showroom recently it reinforced not only how wonderful their product and staff is, but more importantly that they continue to innovate. While there I test rode their new Electric bike, the Volta. As a first time electric bike rider, all I can say is wow! It is stylish, functional, fast, and most important fun. I'm a tech and bike geek at heart, so bringing these two together in a great package and user interface wowed me. I'm sold. This is unlike any other bike shop that I've ever been to. The staff wasn't intimidating but instead SO friendly. Most bike shops are snobby and treat women poorly but Pure Cycles is different and I will recommend them to all of my friends. I ended up purchasing the drop bar road bike (only $499!) and some tools to help me maintain my bike. I really loved their new electric bike and will definitely be going back later this year to buy one. Beyond the stylish product and the friendly employees, I also enjoyed seeing that Pure Cycles devotes a lot of time and money to the local bike community, the worldwide bike advocacy efforts, and various charities. The Pure Fix Original is a great value, very stylish and good quality. Purchased for my daughter to get round UCF campus in FL. I bought online, not my LBS, so was a little worried about service. And sure enough there was a problem, when I assembled (which was pretty easy if you know bikes) one of the parts did not fit quite right. The best bike company in LA is also the best bike shop in LA. The showroom at the Pure Cycles HQ is big and beautiful and the staff is super friendly. They have a ton of bikes and gear and is also in the middle of their open office space - so you get a cool glimpse at the company culture as well as the bikes. I came in to this bike shop and I was amazed at the prices they had. They had a huge variety of parts and accessories. They helped me out by picking the right parts for me and they even put it all together for free. I picked out new back brake kit new handle bars and new grip tape for those handle bars.
