Absolutely amazing! ‍…read more This review is long overdue but I was simply trying to wait to be able to get pictures to add to the post. But as many of you may know who do yoga, you typically don't take your phone into the studio, so I always forget. So if you have not done yoga, it is an absolute must for your health and wellness routine! Toledo Yoga has the best, I mean THE BEST yoga Instructor's I have ever come in contact with. I have been coming to Toledo Yoga since about 2017 with some breaks in between. But the community and the culture are consistent. It's an amazing community full of support and guidance, to help you achieve your best possible self, while you find in the light within. It is a great studio for beginners, intermediate and advanced practicers. All of the instructors have a unique style teaching and there are plenty of classes and times available for you to find your niche. Toledo Yoga also offers a 30 for 30 program, where you can try unlimited classes for 30 days for just $30! You are stronger than you believe! Stop in and give them a try!

Let me start by giving some background information. I LOVE YOGA! I've been doing yoga well over a…read moredecade and only wish I had found it earlier in my life. I earned by 200 hours teacher certification about 3 years ago from a wonderful local studio. I lived at that studio for a year, going to class 5 days a week. Then COVID. The studio went virtual and 3 things happened - I got used to the convenience of doing yoga at home, I redecorated and made my own home studio, and the local studio stopped offering the classes I loved while discontinuing their virtual classes. On top of this, I had shoulder surgery in Dec. 2020 and then spent all of 2022 struggling with issues resulting from the surgery. So yoga has been difficult to find and only available to me part of the year. Once yoga studios opened as pandemic restrictions eased, I began my search for studios that offered virtual classes at times I wanted them that didn't cost to much. I tried SO MANY one month trial memberships. I found a few that were OK, but the pricing was high, the style of yoga not my favorite, or the class times were inconvenient or too infrequent. I had been looking in Central Ohio - and then looked in Cleveland - and finally started on Toledo. ENTER TOLEDO YOGA! Toledo Yoga was the first studio in the NW Ohio area I had tried. Their calendar looked very promising, offering SO MANY CLASSES throughout the day. Bonus - power yoga was offered during the week at 5:30 - the perfect time for me! I work from home and log into work from 7 AM - 5 PM or so. I want my yoga class to start before 6:30 and 5:30 is ideal. The Friday class is 4:30, but that works out fine. By then, my brain is fried on work and I'm ready to have some fun - and Conni's classes are always great. The one thing I don't absolutely love is the yoga is based on Baptiste yoga. I was trained in Vinyasa style with a focus on Ashtanga (which I really dislike), so at least Baptiste is accessible to me whereas there was so much in Ashtanga I could not do (or do well). HOWEVER, the flows always vary and each instructor puts their own twist on the format and always comes up with something fresh and interesting. On Saturday morning, I started my day with getting my butt kicked by Gi and her sculpt class. And this week I also enjoyed the 9 AM power class and have also taken the 11 AM. Sunday I have fallen in love with the flow class with Nada. Her amazing cues and long held poses is often akin to a yin class. Finally - Toledo Yoga uses Zoom. I've tried other studios that use other platforms - the worst being the Mindybody livestream. I would have joined a prior studio I tried by I hated the Mindbody experience. It didn't work on most of my devices and the instructors didn't know how to use it. Just painful classes with messed up visuals. AND the frosting on the cake - the virtual membership is SO AFFORDABLE! Added bonus - there is a huge online library of on-demand classes you have access to. The ONE time the studio's Zoom stream failed, I quickly pivoted and did a recorded class online instead. If I haven't convinced you this is an awesome value and so worth a try - I'm not sure this is the studio for you! I would have settled for so much less - but I did have to. Thank Toledo Yoga and all your wonderful instructors!!

BTW after the first post I received a message via Yelp from Planet Fitness wanting to talk to me I sent them my email and cell number since then I can hear nothing but the crickets for reference i have added my previous review to provide a complete picture: WARNING to all current and potential customers of Planet Fitness, should you experience several life-changing events, DO NOT count on/hope for/expect Any compassion from Planet Fitness, I signed up in 2018 and then starting in 2018 - present I suffered from the following life events: 1. I suffered a stroke 2. I was diagnosed with stage 4 Renal Cancer requiring major surgery and rehabilitation, 3. my disabled son suddenly passed away ( I found him on the bathroom floor), 4. On the day he passed away, I was rushed to the hospital and had emergency heart surgery 5. I was diagnosed with severe Afib (more than 3 events a week lasting more than 3 hours each time, all of this was in the last 3 years. with all this going on I forgot all about the membership. in preparing for tax season I came across the automatic charges from Planet Fitness. when I went to the local Planet Fitness to cancel the membership (when I called they refused to do this over the phone) the staff was amazed that this visit was the first time I went to ANY Planet Fitness since signing up, with this, I inquired about receiving a PARTIAL refund being as they NEVER provided any services to me, I know ultimately it is my responsibility but under the circumstances, I truly feel that a partial refund (they have received my monthly membership fees and renewal feels going back to 2020, and not once did anyone from Planet Fitness reach out and say hey you know it has been 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years or even 4 years since you signed up and you have NEVER visited any Planet Fitness location, are you aware you have this membership, is there a reason you never been to a Planet Fitness, is there anything we can do? when the "General Manager" called me this morning in a VERY rude and curt manor he made it VERY clear that "IT SUCKS TO BE YOU & WE DON'T CARE AS LONG AS WE GET OUT MONEY!" honestly that really Shocked me, all I was looking for was a refund of 3-6 months, with that scenario financially I take the majority of the responsibility of what has transpired and Planet Fitness acknowledges that they could have done better with managing the relationship with their customers. EVERYBODY walks away happy.

Unfortunately, they made some changes and consolidated some spaces, etc. One of those changes was severely cutting their hours. I believe they close at 8:00 p.m. throughout the week now, and 2:00 p.m. on the weekends! These hours don't fit most people's lives, especially mine as a night shift nurse. I can handle rearranging some equipment and even closing the kids club, but if I can't get there because they close so doggone early it's not worth me paying for it. By the way, even though they cut out several hours per week of available gym time for clients, they did not cut out any of the very expensive monthly dues for members. This business is owned by ProMedica and if I didn't know any better I would think that they didn't care about encouraging people to live a healthy lifestyle, and that they only cared about money. And then I remembered that I am a ProMedica nurse and that is absolutely, 100%, the case! They made these changes to the hours from a financial standpoint, not thinking about their clientele or giving a crap if anyone actually visits the gym (so long as they pay their monthly dues).

If a machine IS broken, it's usually fixed in a timely manner...unlike other gyms I've been to where equipment starts to form cobwebs. I believe new carpeting was installed recently which gives the place that "new gym" smell! Because this gym is located inside a strip mall, the space is limiting therefore so are the machines & free weights. I usually go late at night (midnight) and have had no problems with waiting for equipment, so I can't really say what the 5 o'clock rush is like there. There are no amenities like a pool/saunas, personal training or a yoga room.....just the meat and potatoes of what a simple gym would need. And yes there are showers! For what I paid for a 2yr contract, it was a reasonable amount and what sold me was the 24hr access and location (within 5 miles). The place is very clean and the manager Rex is a nice guy. Overall I would recommend this location for anyone wanting a "no frills" gym. :)

I had first called It's Yoga in Toledo, but their schedule online doesn't match up with what they actually offer (as in, they weren't holding the noon class I was looking to attend)... so I popped by Marci's instead. Even though I was the only one there, Shay graciously held the class (she said lunchtime is always hit or miss with how many people show up - plus it's winter, I don't blame anyone). We went through a lot of movements that I've actually never done before and would love to incorporate into my daily stretching. All in all, Shay was wonderful, and I'd definitely come back again!

Yoga has this…read moreamazing ability to strengthen while relaxing the body, and adding the extra heat makes it that much better. Hot Yoga with Joe is not Bikram yoga, and thank god it's not! In my humble opinion, the strict nature of the Bikram style hinders the very ideals of yoga. At Hot Yoga with Joe it's more of a moving meditation where you are encouraged to be relaxed and do what feels right for your body. After all, you know it best - so you'll naturally push yourself when you feel like it's right - you probably don't need someone publicly forcing you. If it's your first time (or even your hundredth time), and you get too hot - that's cool (ou, a play on words!), just take a big gulp of water that you brought into class with you, and start back up when you're ready. Keep calm and carry on. This place is great for beginners through experts. Everyone is very welcoming, and at your very first class the instructors (Joe or Jessi) will explain everything that will go on. You'll be in the back row so you can watch others and not feel any pressure. I'm pretty sure they let you rent a mat and water for free the first class as well. All in all, there aren't very many places I give a full 5-stars too, but this is definitely one of them! There is no intimidation or judging, it's a welcoming environment, and it's a refreshing step into a healthier lifestyle. Do it to it!
