This is a great gym and I really loved my membership there, but the only reason I am not giving it…read more5 stars is because unless you are a Promedica Employee, it can be pretty expensive (for Toledo standards). I don't remember the specifics, but I think it's something like $70-80/mo with contractual requirements for 1 year, but it's half off for Promedica employees. It would be super affordable for the half off price, but as a student, I could never pay the full membership fee. They do have some discounted summer specials for students, which I took advantage of. The equipment at the gym is fancy schmancy. There are tons of different cardio machines, each with their own TV screens, and I got a kick out of the bikes that have different virtual scenarios. What I loved the most were the exercise classes. During the two months that I used the gym, I went to Pilates, Barre Basics, Tummy Tush & Thighs, Insanity, and HIT Boot camp. They were all pretty good, and HIT kicked my ass. Again, I LOVED this gym, and I just wish they had more flexible and affordable membership options for students.

Unfortunately, they made some changes and consolidated some spaces, etc. One of those changes was severely cutting their hours. I believe they close at 8:00 p.m. throughout the week now, and 2:00 p.m. on the weekends! These hours don't fit most people's lives, especially mine as a night shift nurse. I can handle rearranging some equipment and even closing the kids club, but if I can't get there because they close so doggone early it's not worth me paying for it. By the way, even though they cut out several hours per week of available gym time for clients, they did not cut out any of the very expensive monthly dues for members. This business is owned by ProMedica and if I didn't know any better I would think that they didn't care about encouraging people to live a healthy lifestyle, and that they only cared about money. And then I remembered that I am a ProMedica nurse and that is absolutely, 100%, the case! They made these changes to the hours from a financial standpoint, not thinking about their clientele or giving a crap if anyone actually visits the gym (so long as they pay their monthly dues).

If a machine IS broken, it's usually fixed in a timely manner...unlike other gyms I've been to where equipment starts to form cobwebs. I believe new carpeting was installed recently which gives the place that "new gym" smell! Because this gym is located inside a strip mall, the space is limiting therefore so are the machines & free weights. I usually go late at night (midnight) and have had no problems with waiting for equipment, so I can't really say what the 5 o'clock rush is like there. There are no amenities like a pool/saunas, personal training or a yoga room.....just the meat and potatoes of what a simple gym would need. And yes there are showers! For what I paid for a 2yr contract, it was a reasonable amount and what sold me was the 24hr access and location (within 5 miles). The place is very clean and the manager Rex is a nice guy. Overall I would recommend this location for anyone wanting a "no frills" gym. :)

Equipment is very old & some is beyond it's useful/safe life. The flooring is a trip hazard at the very least. The owner requested "secret santa" gifts from members to gift her gym equipment and more. My first visit was a busy holiday class. The employee I encountered on arrival was very rude & abrupt. I later found out this was the owner! I had registered & paid for the class ahead of attending. I was questioned immediately by the owner to "prove it". Though I arrived early as it was my first class I was not allowed to start on-time until I could retrieve the proof of the payment made directly to the gym. The gym owner refused to validate it in their system & instead required me to retrieve my phone to show her the payment made to her directly! Class was absolutely chaotic. I chalked it up to it being a high attendance class that they were not prepared for. I attended another class In Jan. Much to my disappointment it was the same chaotic unorganized & unsafe class. The owner was the instructor, however she was taking her own class & not attending to leading the class. Bizarre & unprofessional. I retrieved a physical gift certificate at the gym for a previous purchase. The balance remaining is $140. The gym owner is now refusing to honor the gift certificate.
