The owner of this studio stole just under $700 from my account held at this business. In speaking…read morewith former clients and instructors we have all had similar experiences with refusing to pay wages earned, keeping money in client accounts, paying wages "under the table" illegally. The owner refuses to return my money. Then again she has multiple lawsuits from not paying loans in excess of $65000. So I shouldn't be surprised that instead of putting my money in escrow she was using it for her own purchases. The owner claims that the police have told me to not return to the studio. That is a blatant lie. She falsely advertises having instructors that won't return. She advertised classes she hasn't offered in years. A very unethical business. I cannot emphasize it enough to not give any money to this studio if it even remains open any longer. Bridges have been burned & she is out good qualified instructors & customers. You DID keep the money in my account at your business when you chose to not allow me to take classes. Legal records are easily validated. You do have multiple lawsuits from failing to pay your debts in excess of $65k. All public record. I have no police record as you falsely claimed. No police or any legal/law entity has ever served me about visiting your your business. Nor do I have any other legal history with police. You claiming this blatant lie is defamation. I honored your text request to not return to the studio to redeem classes purchased & asked (via text) that you refund the money in my account that was now owed as a result of your decisions to not allow me in your business. Please return the money. It is long overdue to me. You have stated here in this public arena that you refuse to allow me in your business thus confirming that a refund is due. That's how that works. You can't just keep customers money. Thank you.

Love this studio! The instructors are top notch! They are all knowledgeable & can demonstrate too!read more

Having done traditional yoga for many years, I've come to really love hot yoga! Yoga has this…read moreamazing ability to strengthen while relaxing the body, and adding the extra heat makes it that much better. Hot Yoga with Joe is not Bikram yoga, and thank god it's not! In my humble opinion, the strict nature of the Bikram style hinders the very ideals of yoga. At Hot Yoga with Joe it's more of a moving meditation where you are encouraged to be relaxed and do what feels right for your body. After all, you know it best - so you'll naturally push yourself when you feel like it's right - you probably don't need someone publicly forcing you. If it's your first time (or even your hundredth time), and you get too hot - that's cool (ou, a play on words!), just take a big gulp of water that you brought into class with you, and start back up when you're ready. Keep calm and carry on. This place is great for beginners through experts. Everyone is very welcoming, and at your very first class the instructors (Joe or Jessi) will explain everything that will go on. You'll be in the back row so you can watch others and not feel any pressure. I'm pretty sure they let you rent a mat and water for free the first class as well. All in all, there aren't very many places I give a full 5-stars too, but this is definitely one of them! There is no intimidation or judging, it's a welcoming environment, and it's a refreshing step into a healthier lifestyle. Do it to it!

Q: How can you tell when you meet a CrossFitter? A:…read moreIMMEDIATELY they tell you so. So I'm not sure if that's true, but I will admit that if you do CrossFit, you're always thinking about CrossFit because some muscle group(s) is/are always sore. And if you're thinking about it, you're probably talking about it... CrossFit Toledo is an excellent training facility with excellent instructors. This place is big and clean and equipped with everything you need to learn the craft safely and effectively. Not only can you learn CrossFit here, you can learn to excel at it. If you're motivated, and you listen to the coaches, you can get a kickass workout in this place no matter your CrossFit experience level or fitness level. Warning: Even if you think you're in shape, CrossFit Toledo will expose your weaknesses. Be prepared to deal with this. Again, listen to your coaches, work hard, and you WILL get better. If you're a newbie, you don't have to worry about biting off more than you can chew. Check your ego at the door, learn how to "scale" (that is, learn how to cheat a little while learning the movements and still get an appropriate workout). Also, every new member goes through a couple of "skills" classes where you get, essentially, one-on-one instructions regarding the basic lifts and movements. Workouts; There are 5 classes per day (0600, 1200, 1600, 1700, and 1815), and class size is limited to 12 people. Every class is different. I repeat, every class is different. But, each class is similar in that they all consist of a warmup, a strength phase, and a conditioning phase. There's also a "homebody" option. Even if you have equipment at home, half the benefit of this place is the coaching and the camaraderie. ALSO, there are multiple open-gym sessions through the week. Camaraderie: It's definitely there; this seems like a great group of people. One guy acknowledges that some people call it "CultFit." But hey, can you name ANY fitness pursuit isn't "culty?" Bodybuilding? Culty for the past 80 years. Running? Not as culty as it was, but still very culty. Yoga? Yep, laid back and totally culty. Don't worry about it. You can do CrossFit and still be friends with a person who doesn't...but only one. 5 stars!

The gym space is comfortable and feels more like a family run business than a chain business which I truly appreciate. Love the coaching staff with good Crossfit and Olympic lifting experience. The culture of the gym is very friendly and feels very accepting to outsiders, including myself as seemingly the only gay Crossfitter in Toledo. I definitely give all my thumbs up to CFT. Also, very kid and dog friendly, which is great.
