The instructors really care about class attendees and are always open to feedback and suggestions. I couldn't rave more about this place! I would encourage anyone of any level to come try any class. I used to be a member of this gym, and I absolutely loved it. Everyone was so friendly, and it…read morereally curbed my anxiety about joining a gym. It is great for a beginner. I liked that it was a women's only gym. No pressure at all. We all at one point or another look crazy trying to do something, but they are encouraging and helpful along the way. I went mostly for the group classes. They always had a great variety with different types of Zumba, Step Aerobics, PiYo, and Yoga, etc. They also have a sauna, steam room, and a small pool. They offer water aerobics classes as well as open swim time too. The reason I left this gym is because there needed to be some upgrades with the fitness equipment. The group classes were great, but when I finally progressed in my fitness journey, it did not measure up. The weight machines were pretty old, and left much to be desired. They did have great personal trainers there, but I still wanted more when I had to do workouts on my own. I felt that with all the money we were investing that they could have upgraded machines once a year or something. Just so you know that they care about your needs. The service was great, and the staff was amazing. I must say that if they were to ever update their equipment. I would definitely return, but there are other gyms that offer all of these classes with better equipment. Granted these other places do not have that sense of camaraderie that this gym does, but I like updated stuff too much. Give me technology and a smooth glide.

Predatory Billing Practices and Zero Accountability…read more I was charged a $30 late fee simply because my credit card expired, with no warning at all! Most companies give at least one reminder before applying a fee, but the Cane Bay YMCA offered zero grace and blamed it on their third-party billing company, which they refused to name or help me contact. To make it worse, I addressed this issue in person with their Vice President, who was standing at the front desk. Even he said there was nothing he could do. That tells you everything you need to know... This is not a community-focused organization. It's a predatory billing setup hiding behind policies and third-party vendors, with no transparency, no accountability, and no care for loyal members. Do better, YMCA. Especially when your mission is supposed to be rooted in community and support.
