A…read morefriend of mine knew that I enjoy hot yoga and suggested I try HOTWORX -- I am SO GLAD that I took his advice. For those that don't know, HOTWORX is a virtually instructed exercise completed inside of a sauna, using infrared heat absorption to accelerate detoxification. You're literally inside of your own personal sauna with a TV and virtual instructors completing your workout. There are several options to choose from, including: hot yoga, hot pilates, hot cycling, hot barre, etc. I chose the hot HIIT workout which lasted 30 minutes and it was one of the best workouts I have done in a long time -- the heat really helps increase your flexibility/range of motion. Just make sure to take it slow if you're not used to the heat (I'm talking 125 degrees) and that you drink a LOT of water before, during, and after the workout. From the minute I called to make a reservation, the staff was SO helpful and friendly. They gave me a quick tour of the facility and made sure I was comfortable using the bands and the equipment inside the sauna -- one of the best experiences from gym staff I have ever had. I will absolutely be coming back to HOTWORX every time I am in Owensboro. Enter Pure Barre. From the moment I contacted the studio, to taking my first class, to 3 months later, this place is AMAZING. Cindy was very informative when I contacted the studio. Answering all my questions, even questions I did not even know to ask. She met with me prior to my first class to explain what the class entails along with key points to think about during class. She introduced me to the instructor and was readily available to answer any questions after class. Even 3 months later, she is actively reaching out to make sure I am not having any issues, following up on concerns that I voiced prior to my first class and continuing to inquire on how the classes are going. On top of that, the instructors are top notch and very personable. They continually walk around class to make sure you are executing each exercise correctly and physically correcting you if there is room for improvement. This is exactly what I was looking for. I hate going to a class where who knows if I am doing the exercise correctly. This allows me to get more out of each class (results faster!!!) along with decreasing the chance of injuries from doing an exercise incorrectly. Their billing office refused to cancel my membership unless I paid $150, which is well over half the price of the 12 month contract. Absolutely ridiculous. I was ready to part ways on a good note until this, I will never support this business again and I'll make sure to tell my friends and family to do the same. **there is also zero social distancing in place and not a mask in sight aside from employees.

Their representative also implied that this could have been done earlier if we had only asked. (I have asked, my daughter has asked, my bank has asked, her boyfriend has asked.) Besides the cardio and weight areas there is a circuit room by the locker rooms, and hydro massage chairs. I'm fussy when it comes to my preferred elliptical equipment and BFit has some older Precor machines which is exactly what I like. I've tried some newer equipment elsewhere and found that they were harder for me to use. Call me old school but I'll support any gym with a Precor elliptical. Also, I went at mid-day and it wasn't crowded at all which is big plus for me as well.
