I was in the area for a work conference and took 3 barre classes and I can't say enough great things about it. While I was in town, I tried a few other fitness studios as well (mainly pilates class and yoga class) and Pure Barre offered the most diverse types of classes. Their align class was a fusion of mat pilates and yoga, define was so fun as I love strength training (best fitness class ever) and classic is my favorite because it's full-body with low weights, but still challenging. Mother's Day May 9th I reach my milestone at Pure Barre Ft. Lauderdale of 100 classes! That deserves a five star review to them. I have done a lot of workouts in my life. But I guess why Pure Barre has worked so well for me is simple. It works on what my body needs,as well as it takes me back to my youth of those Saturday mornings at Ballet class when I was a child. Now of course a lot older you have the ballet barre. I love my toe shoes replaced with socks with grips instead. You get in all the stretch's we all desperately need especially after sitting behind a desk all day. I can actually touch my toes again after maybe 10 classes lol. The teachers are so kind and helpful as well as all the nice ladies who come here( I have to even seen some men occasionally). A bonus I even made some new friends. That isn't an easy feat especially during a pandemic and wearing a mask. What a great way to get off those pounds I put on while isolating at home with all my favorite treats. My posture is better and I am getting more toned. Also beautiful clothes they sell here , so for me it is like one stop shopping! Updating my review because a lot has changed. If anything, it's gotten even better. This location has a new owner Amanda who is incredibly friendly and one of the best instructors ever. The other instructors are also fantastic. Pure Barre now offers several types of classes. Foundations is for newbies. Classic uses hand weights, a resistance tube and a ball. Empower is very cardio focused and uses wrist and ankle weights along with a platform. Finally there's Reform which uses resistance bands, weights and sliders. There is definitely more variety now. Pure Barre offers a lot of fun events and challenges to keep everyone motivated. The fall fit challenge is happening now. 30 classes in 60 days for a prize. And they recently held a neon class that was an entire class under black light so everyone got their glow on. I've been to many gyms and if you're looking for a fitness home, this is a great option. The staff is incredible and the workouts are tough. If you stick with it, the transformations are amazing. Two years in and I'm still a huge fan. read more

This is a nice clean facility to take a ballet barre class. The workout room is carpeted and has a bar along all the walls. Each class instructor is a little different. You may use a ball, small hand weights, bands, and/or mat. The exercises change every minute or two so there is no time to get bored. You focus on core/butt/legs. You focus on a part of your body and work it to exhaustion. The music is constantly changing. Lights are on and off depending on exercise. The instructor is great at walking around and fixing your pose so you get the most out of the exercise. They have cubbies for you to put your belongings. On Wednesday, you get a free glass of wine after class during January and classes are $10. There is parking in the attached parking lot for free. It is located in a strip mall. The staff is very friendly. Some employers get you a discount on class packages. My instructor was Candi and she did a great job. read more

I LOVE Pure Barre ! I came about a year ago with my girlfriend that was going and i have been a FAN ever since ! All the instructors and staff are so friendly and welcoming whether it's your first class or 100th class. Many people think it's a ballet class because of the barre aspect of it but they are dead wrong. Yes, posture is quite important just as if you were taking ballet but that helps you work the muscles and deepen the burn and shake to get that booty where you want it ! I can feel a difference in my core just by the small movements this exercise class has wrapped up in all of 45 minutes. I'm starting to really take to the Empower classes which is a high intensity class with quicker movements and weights. So for those of you who want a little cardio and increased heart rate, this is a good class for you ! But don't think the regular pure barre classes don't offer a great exercise because those classes offer just as much work for your booty and core too ! In my opinion, It's better to get to know the formations and fundamentals of what Pure Barre is and then advance to the Empower classes. i do like all the instructors but a few faves of mine are Veronica (has a yoga-esque to her classes, which i LOVE), Victoria was my first class instructor and really enjoy her classes, and Tia.. She is a kick your a$$ work out ! Especially for the empower classes! Definitely take advantage of their new member specials or try your first week for free ! I've been coming to the studio for over 6 mos. This morning I was literally ONE minute late to class and the doors were locked. I fully respect the late policy, but mind you, it's 6:01 am. I called en route to PB and spoke to the instructor of the class who informed me per corporate doors are locked at 6 am. A+ for corporate compliance they were locked at 6:01 am when I arrived. D+ for customer service. Great instructors and classes but too much corporate nonsense. Find a studio that APPRECIATES your business. :( read more

Pure Barre Fort Lauderdale is my happy place in FTL! It is literally the best studio or gym I have experienced in my 50 something years. I live in Chicago and have been in FTL for the past 3 years during the winter months. I attend Pure Barre classes in Chicago, so I wanted to keep up my workouts in FTL. I have nothing but accolades for this studio. Amanda is the owner of the studio and is a very impressive young woman. She is so kind, friendly and welcoming and runs extremely motivating and challenging classes. Kristi is the studio manager and is one of most lovely, sweet women you will ever meet. But don't let that fool you as she instructs classes that will kick your butt! The entire team of instructors and staff are genuine and wonderful, the studio is immaculately clean, the variety of classes and special events is terrific, and, of course the workout is fantastic! read more

I had two membership packages one through the studio and one through my insurance company. There was an issue with expiration and I never got a straight answer from anyone. I finally cancelled one of the memberships. Then found out I was being charged $20 per class for the insurance package every time I didn't make it to w class on top of being charged the monthly fee. All they do is text. When I signed up I was never made aware of "corporate policy" between the two memberships. Management is terrible and can't seem to pick up the phone to speak directly to me to resolve the issue. read more

Love this crew!! I'm a return customer after about maybe 5 or 6 years! I was very unhappy with the old owner and the old instructors that I gave up on Pure Barre here in Lauderdale. I have been going to Naples, Weston and Boca for classes and I am 1000% AMAZED at how a change in ownership can make a difference in a business! The studio is now super cute with a little area in the front and the back of the studio for everyone to congregate and chat and make friends- they have adorable retail that makes you just want to BUY BUY BUY! I love they carry Bala weights and and fun stuff to make your workout more enjoyable! This studio still has not been reviewed... Such a bummer it wasn't written up sooner because this is a gem. I take a lot of barre classes at different places while traveling (which you'll see if you lurk my reviews) and this is one of the best places I have ever been to. The studio is in a great location off Federal Highway (near Whole Foods). The space is new, nice and laid out well. My instructor Ciara was awesome - with modifications to suit people at every level. I signed up for a one month unlimited membership and took 17 classes last month by 5-6 teachers. I kept going to classes because it is a KILLER workout that goes by extremely fast. I just was put off by the unfriendliness of the studio in general. Most of the teachers are skilled and do a good job at motivating you, I just couldn't help but feel like I was intruding in on a mean girls ballet club that wasn't taking new members! Yes, they make a point to say your name during class (but it seems contrived, like they have to) Pure Barre is 100% an amazing workout and it WILL change your body- but this location needs to work harder on making new people feel accepted and welcomed. read more

I had a fantastic experience at Pure Barre Ft. Lauderdale! I come down to Ft. Lauderdale for a week every year to vacation with my family. As a barre addict/instructor in my hometown, I was really excited to see a one week unlimited pass-- and it was an awesome deal! Classes were easy to schedule and were never over-crowded, which was really nice. The studio itself is very well-maintained, clean, and cool looking. Love the decor (looks just like in the photos) and the retail selection was great! I took classes with Candi, Brittany, Jessica, and Jeannine. Every class was unique and each one was challenging. Playlists were fun too! The instructors were great with motivation and individual corrections. I really appreciated that since form is so important in barre. Finally, everyone was really friendly! I have been to Pure Barre a few more times since my initial review and I still think it is a great way to workout and mix up my routine. I wanted to write this update about a specific class I took called "Breaking Down the Barre". It was one hour and fifteen minutes geared towards helping people understand the various segments of the workout and breaking down specific moves that you may not have the opportunity to ask about during a regularly paced class. THIS WAS SUPER HELPFUL! The instructors were able to let us practice the moves and make corrections. They also took individual questions so I was finally able to figure out - "bend-stretch, tuck"! If you are new to PB or want to figure out that move that just doesn't seem to be going well look out for this class on the PB calendar. read more

I can't speak to other locations, but the instructors (and other staff) at this location are so nice, welcoming and motivating. I believe the exercises are effective and what is great is that they are low impact. I do sweat and feel like I am getting a good workout, but without any harsh pain in joints that happens in high impact workouts. The only negative is that unless you are able to get deals or promotional pricing, it is very expensive. read more

So I'm accustomed to high impact training, between boot camp, running, lifting heavy weight...etc. decided to check out that free trial week because.. well.. it's free! Figured I'd commit to the entire week to see if I would notice any changes. My 1st class was surprisingly challenging! Even though the movements are subtler, weights are super light. I'm talking 2 pounders! I felt challenged. Like I'm working out internally as well as externally. Went back the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and today is my 6th day. Needless to say I'm sold. Signing up for my unlimited package next week! I've noticed some serious tightness in my abs and glutes, improvement in posture and more flexibility! This is after 5 days! Shocking! Now my body is just exhausted. Going 5 days straight will put a toll on you. But I think it's the best way to know if it will work for you before signing up. I also luvvvv the fact that they offer a class every hour. Makes it so convenient! The place is spotless and strategically located in the wholefoods plaza. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I'm really excited to add this to my workout regimen. I highly recommend you give them a try! read more

I can say that after purchasing a two week package and coming in for class a handful of times, barre is not for me personally. This workout is definitely only for people who have very good control and awareness of their muscles as the entire workout is based on very small isometric movements with a "tuck and squeeze" technique. If you don't already know exactly which muscles to isolate and how to target them, then you are going to be very lost and executing the movements improperly as the workout relies on intricate form and a very specific technique to be effective. With that said, I am a fitness instructor myself and workout 6 days a week and thus have very good awareness and control of my muscles, and even so, I found the workout to be somewhat frustrating at other times, silly. The times I was frustrated came from poor demonstration or explanation of the movement at hand. The instructor demonstrates for a quick second and then walks around to check form, but as she's circulating throughout the room, she'll say something like "ok now cut your movement down to an inch and add a tuck" and I'm like "tuck what??" I spent half the time looking around the room searching for someone who appeared to be a regular from whom I could follow, but I would find mostly of other women also looking around the room with the same confused face as my own. And when I wasn't frustrated/confused, I felt silly. Well no, I didn't feel silly myself, more like I felt the movement I was doing was silly. There are some exercises in there that totally seemed as if someone thought up the most ridiculous and far fetched way to target a muscle group in attempt to deviate from standard squats, sit-ups and what have you. There is a reason why crunches, lunges and etc. have been around for so many years and why so many fitness programs use them- because they work. Dragging my feet in and out with a mat squeezed between my legs just did not burn my abs in the same way doing more standard ab exercises would have. And yes, the class does incorporate some of the old stand-bys, but too much time is devoted to these "inventive" barre techniques. Also, every class I went to, I left feeling completely lopsided because you first work one leg/ butt cheek, and then you work the other... but when you fatigue one side of your body first and then work the second, the standing leg that you just worked is going to be burning and tired to the point where you can't properly keep form in order to work the other side with the same verve you did the first. So the next day I would feel that delicious post workout soreness in my right ass cheek and my left would just be hanging out, totally unfazed. Also much of these exercises are not for people with bum knees (aka most past dancers) - my knees were on fire most of the class. But with all this said, I'm sure there are people out there who find this way of working out to be effective, refreshing and different from the usual... all I'm saying is it's not for me. It could definitely be your cup of tea though, so perhaps try it out. The studio is very clean which is great and the staff is friendly. Just a word of warning though, DON'T be late. I came in exactly 6 minutes late for a class and was turned away. Again, as a fitness instructor, if i sent away every person who was a few minutes late for my class, I'd have no class! Also barre is not a workout for anyone on a budget. $21 for 50 minutes is pretty steep. They do have some packages but they are all pretty pricey, and the clothes in the store... well you can buy a pair of designer jeans for the same price as some pure barre leggings and a cut-off top. read more

I have to admit, I'm addicted to Pure Barre. I mean, I seriously love it. I wake up in the morning and can't wait to get to class. I go to sleep at night excited about class. Yep. I have it bad. I started taking barre classes in Fort Myers at Love Your Core and absolutely fell in love with them. I guess Barre might not be for everyone, but I find that it's the most effective workout for my body. I have never been a huge fan of a gym environment, I find most gyms to be just....bleh. After moving to Fort Lauderdale I did some research and was delighted to find a Pure Barre near my house. I signed up for the new client special, $99 for a month of unlimited classes, and I'm so happy I did. The instructors I've had so far have been amazing, especially Ciara. Her classes are The best! She's great at giving direction, she's motivating, and the music is fantastic. I leave feeling wonderful and exhausted in the best way. The environment is great as well everyone is so friendly and the energy is extremely positive. I have never seen any men there, so far it's all women, which I also love! If you are hesitant about trying, just do it!! You won't be disappointed! read more

I bought a pair of leggings there. There was no mention on the receipt in regards to their return policy. I brought them back unused with the tags on . They were too small. I brought them back in thirty days. They refused to allow me to return them because they said that they only return items after fourteen days. I was not informed of their policy. My advise would be to buy on line or somewhere else where the customer is treated more fairly. They also have very limited hours of operation . A huge disappointment ..would not recommend buying their merchandise. read more

Woohoo, it is a good as it gets. I love all the instructor but I must admit Jessica is my favorite. I think it is her sunny disposition, she is always upbeat and motivates me to be the best again. But all the girls are great! Pure Barre challenges me during every class, the girls all switch things up to keep it interesting. This is the best class for a woman's body, and even for men, when they attend they do find it challenging, even those who work out all the time.
