This location is located at the Seacliff Village shopping center. There's plenty of parking. Since it was my first class, they walked me through on the class format. There's cubbies in the back where you can leave all your items as well as a bathroom. I joined in Jenna's class. It was a full body workout. I told her I had a previous injury and she showed me modifications that I could do. The class was tough but I felt great after! The class felt a little cramped with how many people there was. Light weights, bands, and ball were used throughout. We also had some movements where we were leaning on the barre. It was my first time trying barre and it definitely had me sweating! read more

I love the Pure Barre workouts! Different formats that always challenge my body in the best way. A personal favorite is Define (makes me do weight training with the barre flare). (Later I will mention drinking water behind a paywall). Not for me, I prefer Bar Method and signed up with them again after trying pure barre. First, the seal beach location closed recently and I underestimated how long it would take to get to Huntington beach via surface streets, so that alone is a dealbreaker. Something special that bar method's vibe has (at multiple locations) was just missing. I took the "intro" class after not working out for a few months. Even early in the workout it was too advanced for "intro". I'm used to instructors challenging us but also encouraging us to modify because we are all at different levels. I still got a good workout but I gave myself permission to make modifications without, so nothing hurt post workout. If I did the plank we started class with, my back would have killed me. Each bar method I attended has a public water cooler, I had to pay $1 for a water bottle because I didn't fill up mine before I arrived. I'm used to it just being accessible. Thats so bizarre- water being behind a paywall! There were fans in every corner and they weren't turned on during session. I was thinking about asking the instructor to turn them on but I didn't feel comfortable doing so. At the end the instructor handed each of us a rag and a spray bottle. I wondered if it was a sweat rag- nope, we have to finish class by cleaning off our own mats. Also very bizarre- I'm glad I didn't wipe my sweaty forehead with it. That's a new one. No workout kicks your butt like Pure Barre does!! I swear, there is absolutely no way you can take this class without taking a single break or missing a rep or two no matter how many classes you've taken or how advanced you are, lol!!! I took a couple of pure barre classes as well as other barre classes from cardio barre and stems barre when I was pregnant (over 7 years ago) so when I moved to HB I was excited to find a Pure Barre studio near me and came in for the free class. Woooo, let me tell you- I have no idea how I survived! It was exactly what my body needed after 3 kids later LOL. Legs were shaking, took multiple breaks in between reps and it as so hard to push through the little pulses but it hurts so good! For a fact this workout is one of the most difficult yet most effective! Don't ever underestimate those tiny little movements-these isolated movements are what will kill you - but will give the results for a toned body! I am looking forward to joining and taking more classes soon! This Pure Barre is located in a big parking lot right next to Stretch Lab And Starbucks- tons of parking. Great energy in here and everyone's very friendly and very helpful. It's fast-paced but I like that. For someone that is brand new to Pure Barre, it is very different from other Barre studios that are more like a dance workout, and it can be very intimidating at first but it worth it and it doesn't get easier, but you do get better!!! read more

I tried canceling my membership in May, I was advised to pause by a person who answered my call, she told me I can cancel anytime I want, I paused it. 2 months later, I decided to cancel it. I send them an email (I was told by same lady on the phone), that's the only way of communicating. On 6/13 I send them a request to cancel my membership, I was charged again for a full month on 6/28. When I called them again, the front desk person told me they overlooked the email I send them. After many back and forth via email and phone they finally send me a "cancellation form" which states, I am responsible for another payment! Total scam, please be careful with giving them your credit card. Not everything they tell you is true. Shame on you. read more

I do not recommend if you are a beginner. The staff was good at scheduling and follow-up via text. As a "first-time" participant, I was scheduled in a room with 15-people at all levels of experience. I specifically asked for beginners when I scheduled. Pure Barre DOES NOT have starter classes so a person can learn the excercise process, language and types of activities. There is a video that I watched in advance so I knew what to wear and bring. Attending was very disappointing! A smaal room packed with people. I do not recommend if you are uncomfortable learning at a fast pace with beginners, intermediate and expert participants. It seems as though they just want to fill a classroom. read more

I wish I could give this studio a 100 star review - beyond extraordinary instructors and staff. They made me feel so welcome, and I really felt comfortable even though I felt a bit out of my element since I haven't worked out in over a year. Right after class, I felt very accomplished and glowy. My skin improved after just 1 class, and I felt myself holding my chin high with better posture (like a prima ballerina!) The day after my intro class, I felt the little pains of muscles that have been neglected for too long, but I felt like my arms, legs, and abs were toned in a way that told me I made the right decision to sign up for membership. I want to keep up with the progress I already see and feel. There's something about barre classes that not only help physically, but mentally. I felt like the 50-minute class was fun, challenging, and a true escape. I never thought I'd feel compelled to exercise on my birthday, but I'm definitely treating myself! read more

I spoke to a gal on the phone right before class to sign me in & once I arrived without my purse she said I needed to buy socks that ranged in prices starting at $18 . I told her I wished she mentioned I needed the special socks to take class when she had me one the phone . I'm sure I'm not the first person that's run into this . The 1 Star is for customer service alone and has nothing to do with the Pure Barre method or its instructors, who I find all amazing. I was a longtime PB goer and had to take a break due to injuries and female surgeries. When I was ready to come back I purchased a 3 month special to get my PB ledge back. Before I could make it back to the barre I was in a freak accident and sprained my ankle and ended up on crutches for 6 weeks. My visit to the ER resulted in 9 X-rays but no dr's note to "not work out" which is what PB Hb requested to put a "hold" on my 3 month package. The LAST thing I was thinking of in the ER was a doctors note but more how am I going to work for the next 6 weeks. I called and emailed PBHB and emailed them what I got as far as paperwork from the ER but they would only hold my package with a doctors note. I tried multiple times to get a note from the attending Dr I saw in the ER by calling the hospital but I had zero luck. The only thing I could retrieve was a cd of my X-rays. I've spent thousands of dollars on class packages and annual memberships at Pure Barre HB, you'd think they would treat their longtime customers better. read more

My daughter and I who are staying in the area for a month, as I travel for work, stopped in today to book our free trial class. We were turned away because my home mailing address was a whole 45 mins away. So the free class is conditional, & in the time here, which SoCal is home base 4 us, would hv purchased at least one class a week 4 each of us. Instead they made us feel like we were just trying to ghetto hustle a free class. Guess we weren't good enough 4 a trial class. It's one thing if I wasn't a So Cal resident, but I am. The instructors and management are friendly and supportive. Even if (like me) you aren't particularly great at some of the difficult exercise moves. I feel comfortable there (and as I don't particularly care for group exercising, that's saying something.) Pure Barre is pure bliss.... I'm an exercise whore...I'm not faithful to any one genre or routine. I dabble in yoga, pilates, spinning, you name it, I do it. Exercise that is. Get your minds out of the gutter people. This location is pretty small, but the instructors burn, tone and lift. Invest in the $11 grippy socks, and come prepared to spend the 55 minutes you're there to sweat and feel the burn. Classes are pricey, ($25 each) and the times to attend are limited, which I think is a downside. But, I can honestly say that when I was looking in the mirror today that the definition in my arms were showing and my thighs were shaking. read more

This is my second try with Pure Barre. I had tried Pure Barre in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa as well. This location is much more spacious than the Newport location but doesn't have as many retail products. I felt that the instructors were not as knowledgeable as the Newport Beach location. Not that I am a Pure Barre pro, but I watched a woman who had the worst posture and the instructor just let her go along with the workout. I understand when a class is full that it is difficult to help everyone, but with only 8 people in the class, it shouldn't be hard to help the students out. I agree that the workouts can be a bit tedious, as the routines don't seem to change that often and I have a bad case of exercise ADD. My one suggestion for Pure Barre is to introduce a beginner's class so newbies can work on the right form. You wouldn't throw a child who couldn't swim into the ocean, why throw someone who has never piled-tucked-pulsed into a 55-minute exercise routine with no explanation? read more

This review is for the Pure Give class I attended this morning with Brittany. One word: BURN. Brittany really made the 55 minute class worth it. We had no idea that not only were we giving towards the Share a Smile Foundation, but she was also "giving" us an INTENSE work out for our donation!! Every movement we did was new to me and burned so much! We did really intense barre movements to the point that my inner thighs went numb..it was amazing! Brittany is very enthusiastic and cracks funny jokes during the work out to take our minds off the "pain". I loved the music!! It was a great class, worth the hour drive out here, and it felt really good to work out for a good cause! One thing I want to mention is how friendly Brittany is..she remembered me from the first class I attended there a few weeks back. My body still aches from the class, it was a great workout! I really liked this studio! I've been to other similar type workout places and it seems like Pure Barre has set the standard. I love that they have carpet, the other place I went to had hard floors and I slid around on them a lot. The workout is tough so be prepared to sweat and have leg shakes. The instructors here are great! The classes I took were with Lauren and Brittany. Both instructors provided an amazing workout! Both were super nice and helpful for newbies. Brittany was really funny and had the class laughing a lot! This place is also very clean and they provide a santizing wipe for the mats after the class which I prefer then using spary and a used towel like other places offer. So far everyone that I have taken this class with has been really friendly and nice as well. YELP tip - if you write a yelp review after attending the studio you get a free class! Brittany mentioned it today and I had already wrote one so now I get another amazing workout for free! read more

I've been coming to Pure Barre-HB since the beginning of med school... and I'm graduating in the spring. Time flies when you're lifting-toning-burning, eh?? I go to school in NYC and come back to PB-HB when I visit my folks, and every single time I'm welcomed with great big smiles and a "You're back! How's school going" from Vanessa at the front desk. The teachers have changed up, but everyone still works you to the max. The exercises also vary widely from class to class, which I love. I don't know if I'll ever be in Huntington Beach long enough to be a regular, but thank goodness for this location and thank goodness for the 100 push ups I was forced to do this morning... read more

I'm obsessed with Pure Barre and have taken classes at all the nearby studios. The Huntington Beach and Irvine studios are better than the Newport Beach studio, which has a different owner. I wish I could take a Pure Barre class every other day of my life, but it is a little pricey... And I don't recommend the Pure Barre DVD, which of course I bought because I'm a Pure Barre fanatic. It was the first Pure Barre DVD to come out, so hopefully the quality of the filming has been improved since then. Anyway, I love Pure Barre, and I can't say enough good things about it. The teachers are well-trained and even take classes at the studio. I danced for most of my life and workout almost every day... And Pure Barre is the way to go. read more

I have been coming to Pure Barre in Huntington Beach for about a year now. I love the workouts, they are hard but fun and you see a difference in your body really fast. The studio is nice and clean, and they ask you to wipe down your equipment at the end of the class. Those little disinfecting wipes smell delicious and I always look forward to them, knowing I just finished an amazing workout. The routines change slightly and every teacher has their preferences so you won't get bored or burn out on Pure Barre. I can honestly recommend every teacher there and I would suggest that you try all of them to find your favorite. Everybody working on the front desk is nice and always happy to help. I am addicted! My husband bought me a groupon for this class and I stuck my nose up at it. I thought how good can that workout be? I decided to try it since its good to try new things, and I fell in love. I love the burning, the shaking, the sweat, and the soreness of my muscles the next day! All of the instructors are fun and very motivating, which is exactly what I need when my legs are shaking and my mind yells stop, that extra push gets me a better workout and Im a happy girl at the end of the class. It is pretty expensive, but luckily Pure Barre caters to their clients hosting a variety of specials that are a great price for the workout you receive. Love, love, love! read more

I've done every workout class you can imagine and have been loving Pure Barre so far (4th class to date). I haven't been the kindest to my body over the years and it resulted in injuries to my knee and adductor so I've been into lower impact workouts that get the job done like pilates. I thought Pure Barre would fit the bill as well and it has. I've had 4 different instructors and each class has been so different (all great, I love variety!) and each have also brought new challenges. This place is a good work out. It is a little far from home. I only came for the new client special because it is so expensive otherwise. The classes are small, but I do come to the super early class so that is probably why. It is a lot harder than pop phsyique in my opinion. They also only let you take one class per day as well, which I don't like since I like to work out in the morning and at night time. Get my money's worth! But it is a good workout nonetheless. I love Pure Barre and I'm completely hooked on it. I've been coming here for a few weeks now and I've been so happy with the experience and the results. The workout is fast paced and really tones your entire body. I can get a way better workout with Pure Barre than if I just lifted weights monotonously at the gym. The instructors push you here to get results. I've taken classes with Sophia, Ally, and Allison, and they are all great! I would recommend all of them. The workout is tough but good because it incorporates stretching into the routine. I feel sore during my workout, but after it's over my body doesn't ache in a bad way. Also, it's low impact so my knees don't hurt. A big plus. Basically, you are there to do fast paced muscle toning exercises such as push ups, weights, all sorts of interesting ab, thigh, and butt exercises. IT'S AWESOME. The music is good and the pace is so fast you'll be moving onto the next exercise before you can get bored. Whoo hoo! read more

Pure Barre is pure magic! I've tried many many different workouts (yas, pilates, p90x) and this is the only workout I've stayed with!! It's been 9 months and I still go 3-5x a week!! I love the instructors, front desk gals, and Chelsea runs a wonderful business. The HB location is clean and they change the workouts every few weeks so it's never boring. The concept of Lift Tone Burn is unique and the results are amazing. Serious definition in my thighs, abs, arms....all with small 3lbs weights, tiny little tucks and movements all on my tippy toes. Invest in the grippy toe socks and do a full month...YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE. don't let the first few classes discourage you. read more

love love loved this class. I bought a groupon and was nervous to try it...not knowing what to expect. The girl at the front introduced my friend and I to the class instructor (Sophia) and let her know it was our first time. Sophia walked us over to the equipment and told us what we should get as far as "equipment". I was sweating within the first like 10 or 15 minutes! My a$$ was on FIRE by the time we left! My whole body was so sore (I haven't worked out an ounce since my son was born over a year ago), but it hurt so good! There are a few things I especially liked about this class. For one - everyone is instructed to wipe down their equipment at the end of class which is so nice - I haven't seen that before and for some reason, it didn't occur to me that everywhere should do this. The location is VERY clean. Lastly, I especially liked that Sophia would walk around and make slight changes to your position to make sure you were getting the best results out of each position. It was nice, though, that you didn't feel like you were being singled out for doing something wrong - she helped everyone at different points in the class. My friend and I are going for our 2nd class tonight and I see it's a different instructor. I hope she's as great as Sophia! Also - I bought another deal through plum district and I asked if I was "allowed" to use both my groupon and the other deal and the girl at the front said no problem at all. If I would have known better, I might have even gotten the $100 unlimited for a new client and THEN used my coupons ;) read more

I've had three different instructors thus far, and everyone is so fantastic about making sure you're in good form. We all know that a crappy form equates a crappy workout. They will come over and adjust you, and it shows that they're paying attention to you. It definitely takes a few classes to get familiar with the moves, especially the tucking. The room itself is very well maintained, small changing area in the back with cubbies for personal items, and the ladies in front have all been so welcoming! I love these barre classes, but my only qualm with it is the variety of classes offered. It can get pricey, and I would love to be able to experience more. I know it's not their business model, but it would be amazing if they had yoga/yoga scultp/cardio/hiit/bootcamp classes as well. Just to get some different workouts in so that you're constantly engaged and trying something new. Perfect place if barre is all you wanted: plenty of parking, next to a starbucks, lots of classes offered throughout the day, wonderful instructors! read more

I've taken 3 classes now using my Class Pass membership and I have enjoyed this new experience. I am a pretty regular yoga practitioner and newly minted instructor but let me be the first to say that this class works muscles I didn't know I had. It is a lovely compliment to yoga because it works through those small muscles not to mention the posterior chain aka glutes, hamstrings, and hips.
