I switched to SweatHB from a studio chain a month ago, and honestly I can't be happier. It's a no frill, well equipped studio in a bright, airy space. The classes are tough, and each instructor has their own teaching style. I break a sweat in every.single.class. I feel like I've toned quite a bit since joining this studio, as opposed to wasting almost 2 years elsewhere. I regret not joining this studio earlier. I've never taken a Pilates class before and I'm so glad I chose to take my first classes here! I've done some different classes and I definitely will keep on coming back. The instructors are super kind and will make you work and feel the burn. It was kinda tricky finding how to get to the studio, it's located on the second floor on top of the pizza store. SweatHB is the premier studio for Pilates. Not all Pilates studios are the same. It's the OG where all of the instructors are highly trained and highly certified very competent and knowledgeable not only about Pilates but movement, physicality and the body overall. A wealth of knowledge and experience in all of the classes. In a world where everything is just fast and not quality, someone can get a certificate to teach Pilates in a three day workshop! I wouldn't trust my fitness and the structure of my body to places like that! Getting a "good deal" somewhere else at one of the chain Pilates, places, isn't always what's best for your well-being! I've been coming to this studio for a few months now. I've done reformer Pilates before via ClassPass, but it was never a consistent practice. I found SweatHB through Groupon, and I got hooked. The studio, which is upstairs, has a welcoming vibe. The classes are maxed at 9 people (or less depending on the class) so the instructor is able to walk around and course correct if needed. I have worked out with several instructors. Trina, Lisa, and Kristi are some of my usual go-to's. There are classes early and late, which helps accommodate schedules. There are also several variety of classes (i love the power plate!) and you learn which instructors are harder or easier. Because the studio is fairly tight-knit, the instructors will learn who you are, and it gives you a sense of belonging! All-in-all, I look forward to my classes and am happy to have found a local studio as opposed to a chain to support. read more

I've been struggling with a bad hip and lower back pain for over a year now as I used to run and train for half marathons regularly. The pain has left me immobile at times with chronic pain. I've never practiced pilates but I read it could be very helpful for rehabilitation so these are impressions from a newbie! I took advantage of the introductory offer of 3 classes at a disconted rate with really no idea what to expect. I read that you should show up 15 min prior to class but there is no sitting area outside of the class so I actually walked in on my first class not realizing I was interrupting it. LOL. The instructor was very nice about it though. Best to wait outside until the class finishes which is right on the hour. Also SweatHB is upstairs and there is a stairwell just to the right of the barber shop/dominos pizza to get up there. I wish I had known that my first visit. Anywhoo! The classes have been great for reducing my pain levels and building my muscle back up. I have done a couple of different varieties and started with gentle reformer which is excellent for stretch and mobility. I've also had classes that were much more instense and similar to weight lifting that left me sweating! Good stuff. The environment is very welcoming and they are small classes so everyone gets extra attention on form and corrections. Instructors have always been very patient with me as I really have no backround on pilates. I was worried the environment would feel judgemental as I had this idea pilates was just for young skinny fit people. That really isnt' the case at all. It's all ages and all levels and everyone is welcome. I'm about 10 weeks in at just 1x a week and the exercise has been just what I needed to get my body back on track. I won't be doing any long distance running anytime soon but it's so great not to live with chronic pain on a daily basis and gain back alot of my mobility. I've been able to replicate alot of the movements at home as well with just a mat that's also contributed to healing. And it's definitely served as a catalyst as I'm back to spin classes and hope to be out mountain biking again soon with minimal discomfort. I would love to add more classes but the truth is I live a bit far in Aliso Viejo and am just in that area one time a week to take my step daughter to her practice but would absoultely recommend trying this out if you are batteling any pain related to sports injuries. And this is a great studio for newbies. I also recommend booking at least a week in advance if possible. My evening class seems to fill up fairly quickly but I'm often added from the waitlist when I forget to book the week prior. read more

The only way I seem to feel when it u to simplify my experience since trying SWEATHB... just life changing Beginning Pilates as an experiment when I was in a low place with lots going on, and SWEATHB, Trina and Sam (whom I now spend nearly 10 hours with) as I have fallen in love with Pilates which is not something I would ever say or feel, but for the past 6-7 months I have taken classes religiously. Starting with 5-6 days a week, to some double classes alternating with my heavy lifting days The benefits that stand out and have personally changed how I live by giving me a new type of mental and physical strength (those are only 3 large milestones; amongst MANY gains I received) It forced me to step back from my stubborn attachment to my weekly weight lifting routines and heavy lifting focus and perform every individual exercise with control, intention and focus What I thought I couldn't do, SWEATHB encouraged me and I've fallen in love with the exercise, the energy it produces, and the overall concept of strengthening muscle groups to supplement other forms of exercise, or this as a Main form The smaller sized, yet cozy studio (very organized and clean; go Trina!) also creates a place where one is almost forced to interact with those you may have never met SweatHB is a very challenging Pilates studio BUT, I highly recommend attempting a couple with different style instructors and you'll probably will find how amazing and fulfilling it has been for me. A place you can workout, socialize, surround oneself with positive energy and almost call it a second home/safe place dedicated to stimulate, challenge and produce improvements for every INDIVIDUAL client It's a home with strong women support; including the amazing Trina Sam Price is hard and will push you, but her style is what I need and she's the one I rearrange my schedule to be able to attend her classes TRY SWEATHB!! I love SweatHB! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this studio. I've been doing Pilates for 18 years and at this studio for the past eight. I have visited many studios in Huntington Beach throughout the years. This one is by far my favorite! It's fun and highly effective. There are so many classes to choose from for beginner to advanced. The instructors switch up the classes daily so you never-ever get bored. Even if a move is a bit above your comfort level or you've suffered a previous injury the instructors will help you modify to a comfortable but effective move. The parking is a breeze too. I've had major shoulder surgery to both shoulders in the last 5 years. It's been tough trying to stay motivated to get back in shape with the boring routine the rehab specialists told me to do. It wasn't working! My goal is to get back surfing at 60 years old. My wife has been going to Sweat HB at least 3 times a week for years and she is in great shape! I finally wised up and joined her. This is a long over due review. I first met Trina almost 4 years ago. I had just had my second child and needed to get my core back after my c-section. Trina and all the instructors have played a huge role in getting my pre baby body back. The instructors are knowledgeable, energetic, and very form specific! Something that I've found a lot of studios lack. I made the mistake of joining Equinox and took a break from Sweat HB. Huge mistake... my core took a hit and I started to have back issues from the classes at Equinox. I've been back now for a couple months and can not thank all the trainers enough for all they've done for me. I do privates with Trina and try to take her group classes as much as I can! Michelle and Christina's class are also amazing and challenging! I highly recommend this place and trust me...your body will thank you! read more

This place is horrible. I had to give my cc info to get my groupon. I did everything that the owner (Trina) told me to do for corresponding so that I wasn't "dinged" on my cc. I let the studio know at least 8 hrs before I wasn't able to attend class. I was charged anyway. I'm getting my bank involved at this point. The instructors are very nice. read more

This review is way over due. I bought a groupon about a year ago to try pilates for the 1st time. I fell on love with pilates but not this place or the owner. The place was a total turn off, I guess I live on the wrong side of HB...Lol The owner and her instructors are all snooty. One instructor did nothing but talk about herself and her vacations during each class. They would rather talk about themselves during class rather than help you with your form. I would rather pay more for quality teaching at Club Pilates where I go now than to listen to some snooty ass bitches talk about themselves rather than help me learn the correct way!! read more

Trina and her studio have been an amazing part of our community for years. I have enjoyed her classes, as well as many of my friends and neighbors. I do not like to see people try to ruin a business' reputation, when their own actions create natural consequences. Some of the reviews left here are inappropriate, as these reviewers have not followed the stated policies on Sweat HB's website. Trina makes it very clear what happens if you need to terminate your membership early, or if you need to cancel a class. Life happens and its unfortunate if you can no longer attend a fitness class, however the business shouldn't suffer for it, especially when they have clearly laid out guidelines and policies. Trina works hard and provides a great place to practice Pilates, she has earned her 5 starts. Its not fair that one rotten apple can spoil the bunch. Anyway.....don't let the whiners deter you from trying Sweat HB. Its a great place and so is Trina. read more

My aunt bought a Groupon for eight classes for both of us. It was my first time doing pilates, and may I say that I LOVED it!! There are many different instructors and different forms of pilates: reformer, chair, barre, etc. Trina, the owner, also teaches, and her chair class is so fun! I love Dan because he really pinpoints your struggles and even asks if you have any injuries so that you can work on strengthening those areas. I am so grateful that he would take the time to help me out, despite the number of students in the class. These classes help strengthen and tone your muscles. If you are to try pilates, please take Karen's class! I love her energy, teaching style, everything! We took jump board and barre for her 5 am class, and they were my favorite by far. She includes many variations of exercises, and she is good at helping you correct form. She cares about you and will alter the exercise to best suit your circumstance/fitness level. She made waking up at 4 am so much easier. Please take their classes!! read more

Great studio. Clean and tidy. Helpful instructors, at a variety of levels, but they'll modify your routine, if you request it. Start with Dan, he's exceptionally patient with those new to Pilates, but they're all helpful. He teaches an intro class on Saturdays that's perfect for the noob (like I was three months ago). I noticed increased strength and flexibility after just the ten sessions from Groupon. I subsequently signed up for 35 more. The equipment is top-notch. I am new to Pilates so I was a little nervous and intimidated walking in to the studio for the first time. I used a Groupon and Trina was extremely helpful and responsive with helping me get an account created so I could start scheduling my classes. So far both instructors have greeted me warmly, knowing I was new and were very helpful during the session. I really love the small intimate feeling of the studio. Sweat HB is a family affair for our family! We've been attending classes and private sessions here for many years and can say, without a doubt, you won't find a better studio. Period. My daughter, my husband, and I each come to the studio with our unique limitations: my daughter with her scoliosis, my husband with his bad knees, and me with my bad back. It doesn't matter which class we take, the instructors are always quick to offer modified instruction tailored to our unique needs. They never make us feel bad for requiring a little extra. Through the years, we've gained so much strength through Pilates that we seldom require the modifications we once needed. That's a huge testament to Sweat HB and to the effectiveness of their top notch instructors. And...the classes are FUN! I can't recommend this studio enough! The vibes are great and the environment is welcoming. All ages, shapes, and sizes can be found sweating it out and having a great work out! I was a tad hesitant from reading another review about Groupon users ... I'm glad a went with my gut. I had a completely different experience. I was treated just like anyone else. All instructors have been helpful & when I enter the class I let them know I'm new. I didn't request or desire special treatment but I got it! I was helped with the machines, two instructors using mine to demo the moves which helped me gain understanding quickly. I actually messed up my scheduling via the app & while it was 100% my fault the studio went above & beyond giving me a free class. I feel the studio staff is beyond helpful, professional and even better, kind. I have a few more classes to try - if you're on the fence, don't be. This studio is fabulous. read more
