50 minutes of constant tension ... of slow and controlled movement is BRUTAL. Now if you have done Pilates.... Ah make sure you've done Pilates on a megareformer as other reformers don't have as many options for variations or enough range of motion. The owner was super straight forward teaching class, had a great voice and gave proper attention to participants. The studio space is clean and if you have any issue looking for it at night - it's by the smoke shop that's lit up. Will totally be back! read more

My girlfriend attended a class here with coworkers and unfortunately had a negative experience with instructor Erin Warren. They left feeling uncomfortable, disrespected, and unwelcome during the interaction. Creating a professional and welcoming environment is especially important for new members trying out a studio for the first time. Based on their experience, I would not recommend this place. read more

Been coming here on and off when I can afford it (I"m a student on a budget), but worth it every time. Love how every class feels like you've been lifting weights for 2 hours, but without the high-intensity. I've only taken 3 instructors but they have been so nice! Do not be afraid to ask for help or modifications, they are happy to help! *special shoutout to Jennifer!!!!! read more

I have been coming to this studio for a few months now. I came from a booth camp studio and HIIT workouts. I liked it but never saw any real results. I started doing Pilates as a newbie in this studio. I was so nervous thinking I was going to fall as I have never done Pilates before. The trainers here are so sweet and accommodated me on my first days. The workouts are hard but not too sweaty and I saw results almost right away. That's why I kept coming. Instructors make it fun so you don't feel how hard you are working. I have emailed the owners late at night to put me in the wait list of some class and she answers instantly. Classes get full very fast. This is amazing studio. I highly recommend it! read more

It was my first ever class at Pure Pilates and Erin was so helpful and knowledgeable. I've only used the Reformer in the past but she provided specific and helpful instructions on how to operate the Megaformer, how to modify certain exercises, and was always watching out to make sure we had good form so we engage the right muscles. I'm still relatively new to Pilates (I usually do HIIT classes) but I'd definitely recommend this place. I think prior knowledge of the Reformer or Lagree will help a lot but after my class with Erin, I would trust the other instructors to be as good as her. read more

Purchased a class of 5 classes from Groupon, and now I am fully hooked! First, the Groupon deal is such a steal and I wish I could purchase over and over again. I fell in love with Kat's classes and looked forward to them on a weekly basis. She is one of the best Pilates instructors I have ever had the pleasure of taking class with, and does an amazing job of making her classes inclusive for everyone but also super difficult if you're looking for a challenge! read more

Make sure you don't have a common name when you buy their Groupon, which is for first timers only. Erin said I had already been there. I have never been there. I tried to explain this and she ghosted me. Update: I find it amusing she emailed me only after I wrote this review and said "you didn't give me a chance to investigate". It had been ten days. I get it. She's running a business. Probably too busy to respond. But I replied twice and got no response until posting a review. And instead of apologizing, (or even just not responding, which would've been more mature) she gets defensive and takes no accountability. Look at her other responses to the one star reviews written calling them "false" ! Very childish and narcissistic. I would definitely not want to be in that kind of environment. read more

It was my first time using this style of machine and it was very challenging. The instructor was really nice and explained all the moves and led by example which I greatly appreciated. read more

I used a Groupon to visit this studio, it allows 5 visits. Please double check the expiration date after you email Erin to activate it. Groupon states the voucher expires 90 days after activation, but I received 60 days. I emailed Erin and she provided fast and prompt responses, but preferred I used up the voucher within 60 days. Once you activate it, then you can sign up for classes with Mindbody. There are 8 megareformers, so classes will fill up quick. The level of difficultly depends on your instructor. I believe Kim teaches the most classes. Each instructor has their own routine with substitutions for difficulty or ease, regardless most incorporate a full body routine. Some utilize additional props like the ring. During the last class, the instructor did not enforce the late policy which I find disruptive to other students that arrive early. read more

Jennifer was a great instructor. I arrived 5 minutes before class and she explained to me how the machine worked and the levels of the resistance. The class I took was entire body but for me personally I felt my lower body working the hardest. Overall I would recommend this class to everyone read more

Pure Pilates is definitely the best Pilates in Huntington Beach. All the teachers are amazing. The music is always a vibe. I was easily able to get into the best shape of my life, from taking their classes. read more

I've been looking for a good pilates studio and found Pure Pilates HB. I will definitely say your experience varies with each instructor that you get. Kat was always super nice and helpful - she would give me advice and help with any modifications that I needed. Erin was a bit cold and didn't feel very beginner friendly. I had thought that this studio also offered mat pilates but that was not the case. When I had emailed Erin about possibly refunding my membership, she was a bit rude. I appreciate that she did allow a partial refund, however her attitude in the email response did leave a bad taste in my mouth. Her lack of understanding in the email definitely translated to her real-life attitude when you're in the studio. read more

Took a class with Kim and it was fun. She kept the class flowing and the music selection was cute. read more

I've been a regular member at Pure Pilates for almost two years and love it. I was avid in weight lifting and running, but I think megaformer Pilates has been my absolute favorite workout to do. All you need are grip socks! I usually take classes with instructors Erin, Kat, and Jacinthe and they are all amazing and I feel they always give me a great workout after their classes I also love that this studio only has eight machines as I don't prefer it when a workout space has too many people. With an intimate studio you are guaranteed to have the attention of an instructor who can help you out if you're struggling or need to correct your form. You also have the option to host your own private class with any instructor you choose to use your own music playlist. I've hosted six private classes at this studio and everyone I've invited said they enjoyed the workouts with nothing bad to say (except that it was probably one of the hardest workouts they've done) Other perks of this studio is that they offer water, have grip socks for purchase (in case you don't have any), play good music, and parking is easy! Next time you're in Orange County and want to get a good burn of a workout, sign up for a class at Pure Pilates HB! read more

I previously took my 1st class here with an instructor that doesn't work there anymore and she quite literally traumatized me! I was scared to come back but I gave this place another chance and booked another class with Erin. Let me tell you!!!! I was SO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED with how different it was from the class I took last time and I loved how Erin was so patient with my friend and me considering that we are beginners in this Pilates journey. She made sure to keep an eye on us a little extra throughout the session and helped us fix our form whenever needed. Safe to say ever since that day I've been back multiple times & usually book classes with Erin or Kat. I started with the 5 classes for $45 deal on Groupon but am now paying for an unlimited membership and I think it's quite worth it. This place is awesome & so are the instructors read more

Pure Pilates has been a part of my daily routine. Every instructor here incorporates different levels of difficulty that changes the body. They also allow you to modify your movements when it gets a bit too much. I've been going here for the past 2-3 years and I've seen my body change. I still Find my muscles shaking from time to time. Erin is very knowledgeable and very welcoming to new comers. I was such in bad shape when I initially joined in and was very intimidated but that changed when Erin made me feel comfortable. I was also immediately inspired with the other dedicated women who would wake up So early to work out before work. I just want to say thank you for keeping this establishment with great, awesome, and helpful instructors! read more

I took a class with Michele and she was so helpful and patient. She demonstrated each move we did for us newbies. She helped check everyone's form while also letting us go at our own pace. The reformers are nicely spread out so you never feel like you're too close to anymore. The class itself was pretty challenging as someone with very minimal pilates experience but it never felt impossible. Michele was good at giving encouragements while letting everyone take their time. Will definitely be sore tomorrow but am already looking forward to going to the next class and getting stronger. The studio itself is pretty light and airy. It's located in a random plaza with a good amount of parking. read more

Kat kicked my ass, in the best way possible. I've been to other pilates studios and they were rough, I end up leaving sore every damn time but this experience was on another tier. I would say I'm pretty athletic and have been working out for over a decade, even competitively for a bit, but my focus is to rid of my back, shoulder, and neck pain and stray away from too much weight training. This was no stroll in the park, for sure and I believe would be both challenging (& rewarding) for everyone regardless of your experience! Pilates is a great way to strengthen your core, endurance, mentality, and confidence! I'm so happy I stumbled upon Kats class. She's extra helpful, full of energy, even at 7am on a Wednesday, and she was so patient with my fiancé and I. We struggled so much but pushed through, and finishing was so rewarding. Now I'm laying here sore but so grateful! I can't wait to recover and find a way to lure my fiancé back in! read more

I wouldn't not recommend coming here. The instructors are extremely rude, aggressive and snobby. The instructor got in my face as if I was a child, completely disrespectful for a Pilates studios. I should've read the review prior to booking a class. A late policy is completely understandable but that does not give someone, a Pilates instructor, business anyone to get in someone's space, an inch away from a potential customer face and get yelled at, blocking me and not allowing for me to get my stuff. Who wouldn't get upset. Complete disappointment. Post the dilemma, I did not have any interest in taking the class after feeling completely threatened. read more

I've been hearing about pilates and found this place off of Groupon so had to try it myself. Erin was super responsive, helped me apply my Groupon, and gave instructions for first timers like me. My first class was with Kim - she showed me the equipments and placed me in the middle so I can look at others around me. The workout was a good pace - it definitely had me sweating, but it was nice to focus on form and slow movements. You definitely know what the "shake" means afterwards. They are definitely beginner friendly. read more

I'm a surfer and I was looking for ways outside of the water to increase my core and leg strength. These classes fit the bill. After about 4 classes I could already see the results in my increased strength, flexibility, and balance. The instructors are amazing, the classes are small, 7-8 people so if there's something you need help with they're right there to assist. read more

I've been going to Pure Pilates for over 2 years now and still love it. Being an ice skater, this type of workout really worked well for me. I definitely have gotten stronger since doing pilates. I love how all the instructors have a different style of teaching and change the routine each class. The studio is kept clean and there's plenty of parking. If you're in the area and have been thinking about going to pilates, check out Pure Pilates! read more

I've never been an athlete or able to keep up with any workout routine before Pure Pilates. I never thought I'd enjoy working out so much! read more

I absolutely love, love, love this place! I just wish it was located closer to where I live. I'd sign up in a heartbeat! All of the instructors are very nice, helpful, and care about you getting the best possible workout you can while in their class. Erin Warren is the owner; she is amazing! I absolutely recommend this business. It's clean, staff is friendly, and in a good location. The pricing is reasonable too. Thank you for making my first time trying a Pilates class so memorable. It was such a great experience for me! read more

I have been a loyal client of Pure Pilates for nearly three years! My body has changed and I am happy with the results. I have also become stronger than I have ever been. All the instructors at the studio make classes challenging, yet fun. I am ADDICTED to Pilates thanks to Pure Pilates HB. Not one class is ever the same. Even though I have been taking classes for a long time, it continues to challenge me and I am grateful for that, as it is hard to say the same thing about other forms of workout. 10/10 recommend this studio to anyone interested!!!!! read more

I normally do HIIT workouts but my doctor told me to give Pilates a try for a slow burn and found Pure PilatesHB through a Groupon. I normally don't buy Groupon but it was a good deal so figured it was a worth a shot! No harm in trying something new. I took my first class with Erin and she was incredibly helpful as I had zero Pilates experience and have always heard it's really hard. Well, it was very hard but Erin coached me throughout the first class and helped provide a warm and judgement free experience. 5 classes later and I've signed up for a membership because it's a workout like no other! I also love the small studio feel because I feel it's more personalized and such a great deal considering the attention you get from the trainers. I highly recommend giving it a try if you ever thought of trying Pilates even as a newbie! Thanks Erin and team! read more

I just want to say that their classes make all my other pilates class, look like a walk in the park. I've actually only started pilates this year and after 3 months at Club Pilates, I wanted to try a different studio. I will most likely participate in ClassPass for these studios. I bought the Groupon on a whim to see what other studios could offer and I was so pleasantly surprised with this place. I've only taken two classes but I can already feel that I'll go here more than Club Pilates, even if it's an extra 10 minutes away. It is such a good workout and I'm glad all the classes are pretty much same, aside from advanced pilates (I am not trying that class anytime soon, I can barely live through the normal class). While I am a new client, I can't help but comment that most of the criticism are coming from individuals who are expecting like catered corporate treatment. My impression when I first saw the studio has a mom and pop feel and the studio has 8 reformers. It feels very bare bones, but the instructors so far, have been encouraging and patient. At the end of the day, I will return because I feel the workout is amazing and the instructors have been very engaging. read more

If I could give this place No stars... I would. I'm disappointed and hurt in the way me and my girlfriends were treated by Erin. Prior to our appointment, we had emailed her and she said she would reserve reformers for us to take a class with her. We traveled from various cities in Los Angeles and took time off our rigorous graduate program to attend her class. Only to show up and be treated so crassly by her. She greeted us at the front and right away was saying if we weren't on the list we couldn't be attended ON her microphone for the entire studio to hear. How unprofessional and RUDE. I had emailed her and she did not mention anything about registration or Groupon. She has 1 free promotional class on yelp. Upon arriving, she was denying that I ever emailed her! So I bring out the email to show her and she would not look at it. She was dismissive and im honestly saddened and disgusted that we were treated that way. I would never recommend this type of service to anyone. Go elsewhere you do not need this type of humiliation from a burnt out instructor. read more

Love this place! I originally tried the Groupon to see what all the Pilates hype was about and I stayed because I'm addicted now. I've tried so many different workouts and workout styles but Pure Pilates is a different kind of beast. After the first class my obliques were on fire-in the best way! Anka is the BEST instructor and human. She is so motivating, inclusive, and so dedicated to her craft. The mega reformer is so unique and allows you to get a workout unlike any other. I am a 60 years young woman who had major foot surgery just over a year ago. I wanted to get back in shape but have some injuries (besides recovering from the surgery) that prevent me from heavy weight training and running - a friend of mine let me know about this studio, I went once, I went back, and now I am about 8 classes in and can't believe how quickly I have gained strength and stamina (goes great with my power walking program). Erin and Kim are wonderful instructors and I love the vibe of the class (including the music, cleanliness, number of reformers....). - THANK YOU ERIN AND PURE PILATES! read more

I've been coming here for about 3 months now and I'm so glad that I decided to try it out. The instructors are great and the slow pace of the workout is really enjoyable. I've definitely noticed myself getting stronger and I'm excited to continue learning more read more

This is my second Pilate class and my first Pure Pilates class. I really love the playlist that the owner incorporated into the routine. It really made me feel like it's one of those fun cycle classes. I have to say this is very challenging but Erin was very conscious of the fact that I'm a newbie, so she made sure she made adjustments for me. Definitely not easy. I thought Pilates was already difficult as I was transitioning from yoga, but wow, pure Pilates take it up several notches. I'm going to challenge myself and come back until my arms and legs stop shaking. I also loved how Erin tried to help my form but wasn't overbearing, and allowed me to move w my own level of comfort. I knew my form was off, but she gave me space to learn. I really appreciate you that. Definitely a serious place to tone your muscles. :) read more

I started coming here in the beginning of March and I couldn't be happier! Kat and Kim are my favorite instructors, and always give modifications if needed. I was one of those people during Covid who decided to pack on weight and stop working out. I finally decided to find a place so close to my home that I had no excuse to not go. I cannot lie, I didn't love class at first. It was really hard and I had to modify...a lot (still do, lol). In all honesty, I wouldn't have liked any type of exercise at this point. My body was heavy, and it hurt, even without exercise. But each day I started to enjoy class more and more and now I'm in love with them. Erin and Kat are awesome. Jacinthe's classes are a blast. She's so funny, gives each class her all and inspires everyone to do more than we think we can. I leave class barely able to walk (kidding), but I feel amazing-and stronger than yesterday. I'm not going to give all her surprises away. You just have to try a class to see for yourself. read more
