I dropped into this studio a few weeks ago. The staff was all very nice and helpful. The workout itself was good and targeted lots of various areas. The part I would comment on and is no fault of theirs necessarily, is the difficulty in parking. The garage next to it is impossible to get into at certain times of the day, if turning left. The lot across is fine if you can get in and out in under an hour... which is sometimes hard to do. Overall, good studio. read more

Ouch. Ouch. Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuch! Pure Barre will literally kick your ass. I am a pretty tough broad when it comes to working out and such, hence my addiction to Hot Yoga Nashville but this class works muscles that you didn't even know that you wanted to tone. A good friend of mine has been raving about how her body has literally changed since attending Pure Barre and how after 8-10 classes you can see the difference. I was intrigued so when she offered to treat me to the class, I was ready to drink the Kool-Aid especially since her tush spoke the truth. The class was pretty full and our pregnant yet very fit instructor (is that really fair? I think not.) lead the way with her headset and thumping dance music into some of the most excruciating movements that I have my ol' body through in a long time. The movements are constant and fluid with very little time to catch a breath. I did appreciate that the class was divided into sections to focus on specific areas of the body. We used little and weights, exercise bands, and workout mats throughout in addition to the barre. This workout is a hybrid of pilates/aerobics/ballet. I survived the class but would suggest newbies taking a private class to learn the different moves 1-on-1 with the instructor because I'm not sure that I did everything correctly due to the fast pace. This would really ensure that I am getting the most out of my workout especially since the classes are not inexpensive and will run you $23 a class. However, as a new client you can sign up for the 1 month unlimited class package for $100 which is clearly a much better deal. Due to the location being in Green Hills not really being convenient for me on a regular basis, I don't know how often I will be back to take classes. (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it) However, I know that if I need a jumpstart to my workout, this is a fantastic option. TIP: This class requires that you take your sneakers off and wear socks, so I would also suggest wearing a thick pair with some traction on the bottom to prevent slippage and to better grip the floor. Slipping and sliding in the studio is not so cute. read more

Pure Barre - Barre Classes Near Me - Green Hills, Tennessee

I've always been the person that chooses literally anything over a workout. Chips, tv, the couch... And I've always stayed the same size. But as I've gotten :::welp::: older, I've started to worry more about my overall health and being strong over skinny. That's why when I moved to Nashville 6 months ago, I decided to give Pure Barre a try. And from day 1 I was hooked. It definitely takes a bit to learn proper form and some of the moves are so hard at first, but the teachers are so encouraging, learn names, make you feel welcome, and the whole studio is a great community to be a part of. And it doesn't hurt that they have super cute leggings and other workout gear for your shopping pleasure as well! The unlimited packages are definitely the best deal if you work out regularly (but you sign up for each class regardless-a great motivator!), and don't worry about getting bored/stuck in a rut. They have a classic class, an empower class (cardio focused), and a reform class (core focused-similar to Pilates), and the teachers learn new material on the regs. If you're looking to tone and lengthen in a supportive environment, give PB Green Hills/PB White Bridge a try! read more

Dang, everything you've heard is true. I work out fairly regularly and wouldn't call myself out of shape, but by the end of Pure Barre I felt like I'd never worked out before. HARD! All that being said, the PB Nashville location is pretty much the most 'Green Hills' thing I've ever experienced. Very nice studio and all the girls and instructors were gorgeous. I almost thought I accidentally had attended a model search for fashion week and booked it out of there ASAP. I'm glad I stuck it out as the chubby duckling once though, even though some of the moves made me feel like the worlds most awkward stripper. (Okay, ladies stand on your tip toes and make 'hip circles' - yeah you try not to look like an adult entertainer....) That being said, I wouldn't really recommend this class for men, ha! I'd also like to commend the creator of PB for her CRAZY BRANDING! PB socks, PB sports bra's and PB branded kickballs and mats - okay I get those, but PB branded face creams and lotions?! Really?! Well, go get you that cash money girl; I just found that a little over the top. At $23 for an aerobics class would I go regularly? Erm, nah. But it did get me interested in the concept and I would for sure buy a DVD or attend the 'Barre' class they offer at the Sylvan Park community center! If you are in fairly good shape try the method, its awesome! If you are wealthy and beautiful get thee to PB Nashville ;D read more

After reading so many before and after success stories of pure barre I was skeptical, it seemed too good to be true. However I bought a month unlimited pass ($100 for your first time) and after 3 weeks of going 3 days a week I really believe all those stories I read. The class is definitely targeted towards 'trouble spots' for women. In just 3 weeks I've gotten a lot stronger and notice a difference in how my clothes fit, I cant imagine what going for 6 weeks or longer would do. I am sore after every single class. The nice thing about the workout is that its never an out of breath or exhausted feeling you would have during spin or crossfit, but your muscles will shake and burn. During the class when you think your muscles are going to rip out of your legs because they are shaking so much, the instructors encourage the shaking and repeat their manta "shaking is when the muscle changes". I don't know if this is actually true, but i repeat it to myself to make it through the workouts. A lot of the women who go seem to be regulars and so they know all the moves and the class is fast paced. The first couple days that I went I let the instructor know that I was new, and they were really helpful with showing me the proper technique and positions so I could keep up. I definitely recommend buying the socks they sell if you decide to do it, having the grips on the bottom makes a really big difference so youre not slipping around on the carpet. Pure barre is really expensive (why I am not giving 5 stars) and so it draws in more of a 'green hills' crowd, if you will. Once everybody is working hard, and focused on their workout you forget the crowd and focus on this insanely effective and challenging class. read more

I'm in pretty good shape, and I consider myself athletic. I mean, I run, play soccer, rock climb, hike, practice yoga, and will try any sport once. I've run half marathons with (not) the greatest of ease. But I mean, you know, I did it. And no, none of that prepared me for the intensity of Pure Barre. Holy crap. You absolutely WILL get an amazing workout. You will not be disappointed by the intense combination of focus, strength, and determination that it takes to get through this class. And the best part is that you aren't (too) sore the next day! They make sure you stretch to make sure there's long, lean muscle and no build-up of lactic acid. Be prepared to be surrounded by beautiful women who's wardrobe costs more than my rent. But honestly, everyone is very nice and welcoming, and the instructors are friendly and helpful and extremely knowledgeable. It helps that they all have amazing bodies, so you know it works! As a heads up, it's hiding in the back of the BB&T parking lot. Oh, and if you've never been, bring socks and wear something that covers at least 3/4 of your legs. They're pretty strict about that! Also, it ain't cheap, but they have a $100 unlimited new client special that is worth every penny! read more

Ok people I am 12 classes in and I LOVE Pure Barre. Well I love hate it. It kicks my ass every single time. I just want to make it through one thigh work where I don't have to stop from sheer difficulty! I love the challenge, the hot (which is inspiring) instructors, and the sweet girls in the classes. I knocked a star off cause it is SO expensive. In a way I'm glad cause it keeps only serious people coming, but it is hard for this girl to handle! I also wish they had more specials....otherwise IT'S THE BEST! read more

I can honestly say this is the best workout I have ever experienced, I'm HOOKED! :) I was given the new client unlimited month for my birthday, and it was the best gift ever! After 30 days (3 classes a week) I lost an inch off of my arms, thighs, waist and hips!! No joke! It's perfect for those with bad knees or ankles like myself since it involves NO hard impact on your joints. It's based mostly on isometric movements that tone your body in no time at all! Another plus, in between every work out section you stretch. It definitely helps me to be less sore the next day. It is by all means not an easy work out, you have to work hard, but it pays off in inches. The studio is sleek, modern and clean. All the instructors are amazing, and I look forward to every class. The only negative is that it is expensive compared to most other barre classes! I wish they ran more specials, but it's worth it to me since I feel so great afterwards. A few tips for class: 1. Grippy socks! These are a requirement. They have the black PB socks available there for purchase. 2. Tight work out pants that are at least 3/4 length to keep the muscles warm! 3. A formfitting shirt/tank top. For obvious reasons when planking or doing push ups. 3. Your muscles are going to SHAKE. That's a good thing :) They are changing and change they will. Just hang in there! 4. The studio is located in the back of the BB&T building off of Crestmoor. Kinda hard to find your first time. I had no clue it was there! read more

I finally understand the hype behind Pure Barre. Fantastic workout, addictive even. :) All the instructors are helpful and encouraging. Location off Crestmoor is a bit tricky to find and parking is usually a pain, if you're going to a busier class on a weekday (lunchtime class has proven to be difficult for me). Classes are ALWAYS full... While I've never had a bad instructor, Hannah, Kady, Leigh and Jenn are all fabulous. I find myself seeking out the classes they teach. Studio is clean and airy. Must buy $12 grippy socks, but trust me--you need them to stay put during your planks. Not much space in the cubby/front desk area. Bathrooms are down the hall (this is an office building), and no showers. :( Lots of mirror access in the studio to perfect your form. The studio is usually warmer than I'd like but it definitely encourages the sweating! Music is awesome. I never regret making the time to come over here for a workout. Pricier than anything else I've done, workout-wise, but I'm still paying it--I love the results and feeling myself get stronger, class after class. read more

FAVORITE MOVE: Slinky down the stairs. This is an intricate and exerting maneuver that involves each participant to roll on the floor like steel cut oats. The instructor was a dude, which obviously threw me off at first, but by the end I was asking for more. He treats us ladies with respect, which is a lot more than I get from some of the other taco and coffee shops around town. Can't wait to look at my butt in the mirror. Eighty bucks per sweat sesh is nothing compared to those butt-boosting sketchers I stole from footlocker a while back. 10/10 will come back. read more

I give this place FIVE STARS! Whoohoo. First of all, it's not a restaurant. Apparently, Nashville is better at fitness than it is with food. And that's a good thing because with the crap they eat, they better exercise. Hah! Back to Pure Barre. Discovered this via a friend who raved about taking ballet barre classes in Boston so she found me Pure Barre in Nashville. This is a GREAT workout for me because while it apparently achieves the same results that yoga delivers, there's not a lot of silence going on. Instead all moves are done to upbeat, fun music and time just flies. You know how sometimes when you take classes some instructors are hit or miss and after you go a few times, you have a few favorites. Not the case here for me. So far, I've gone about 6 times, had a different instructor every time and all have been great! Even the guest instructors are excellent. Five star operation, for sure. read more

Love it! I was a bit terrified to try it at first but I am now an addict. It's a yoga, pilates, ballet fusion. No cardio (thankfully)...but you will sweat. Because you are using your body's own weight you will ALWAYS get a workout. It goes by sooo fast because you are constantly thinking, "Please Lord let me get through just a couple more seconds!" If you are in decent shape and have done pilates or yoga before, this is for you. Emily is the best teacher so try it out when she is teaching. read more

It took my three classes to finally understand the Pure Barre hype....& now I can't wait to return; I look forward to my next class everyday!! I have always been the type who loves a hard core sesh every time I workout, and if I'm not out of breath, wanting to pass out or drenched in sweat, then it wasn't a good workout. So I was a little apprehensive, even after the first class. HOWEVER, consistent classes will change the shape of your body and ladies & gents, it will burn so good. Only complaint is cost, but heck, having a better bod and feeling amazing Is priceless. You have converted me Pure Barre!! Gotta run...it's time to go to class read more

My absolute favorite place to get a workout in! High intensity, low impact, great results. Between the multiple class types and different teachers, no class is the exact same. Highly recommended! read more

Pure Barre Green Hills is a wonderful studio! Clean, friendly staff, and great workouts. I always feel so much better after pure barre and much leaner and stronger after a month of taking class. Highly recommend! read more

Love this location! I'm currently 5 months in, and will never forget how welcoming and excited the instructors were for my first day. They say you'll get addicted, and they're right! Always clean, always friendly, always an awesome full-body workout. read more

Decent workout but rude staff. I have taken 5 classes here and most of the interactions I have had with any of the staff they have been quite rude to me. One of the teachers was very friendly. However when I called the studio recently the girl on the phone was very rude and not helpful. There are so many other barre studios is in the area with much friendlier staff and you can get just as good of a workout elsewhere. Also pure bar classes are some of the most expensive classes and if I am going to pay that much money I would expect people to at least be friendly. read more

Manager, Lauren, is always so helpful and accommodating when the Pure Barre app is temperamental :) Great workouts by each teacher-every time. I'm addicted. read more

Was in Nashville for a work conference, and had a free afternoon so decided to give Pure Barre a try with my Class Pass. I'm so happy I did! It was an amazing workout. The instructor gave me the extra attention I needed because it was my first time. I wish I lived in the area so I could go back! read more

Y'all, I moved from Nashville over a year ago and miss PB Nashville like nobody's business! The White Bridge, Gulch, and Green Hills locations provide a killer workout with the most fabulous instructors. They are fun, supportive and push you throughout the 55 minutes. There's a learning curve at first so stick with it. You can't go wrong with the month unlimited so give it a shot! Looking forward to the next time I'm in TN and can take a class. read more

Pure Barre is my new favorite workout! The front desk staff and teachers are all encouraging and friendly here, particularly Catherine! I have found the workout to be extremely effective in toning "problem areas" and the abs. The class is also a great stress reliever, and I have enjoyed meeting a community of awesome and empowering women. Highly recommend giving it a try! read more

I love pure barre! I joined to tone up for my wedding and it is a great all over workout especially good to tone your arms!!!

I love Pure Barre! This class is what I look forward to each week. Great music, great instructors and the time flies by. The first time you take the class will be really hard, but by the third time it will be much easier. It's the only workout I've done where I've noticed changes in how my body looks. It truly does tone you better than other things. It's expensive but if you don't belong to a gym you can think of it as your gym membership fee. read more
