A few days ago I filled out a form online for the free introductory class. Got a message saying classes were full and they'd contact me when there was a spot, cool. Next day I got an email with a list of days/times to try, nice. However, I got busy and none of the times worked with my schedule. I planned on giving this location a call, but since filling out the form they have been calling/texting me daily. It's really too much for simply inquiring about a class. Blowing up my phone with text messages (I didn't sign up for) and multiple calls a day is a big NO. I had to block the number! Another thing I personally don't like is the lack of a membership fee or pricing listed on the website. I like cost to be upfront and not hounded. read more

After Pop Physique (RIP) closed, I tried out a few different pilates studios and some other barre places. I was disappointed and I just took up running for a little while. After not seeing the results I was used to seeing through barre from running, I decided to go back on the hunt for a new barre place. Let me go over some of my concerns before I started with Pure Barre. 1. It's expensive - Yes, it is way more expensive than other places. I am price conscious and it was daunting to think of how much I will be paying. I think that is what kept me away for a good long while from joining or checking this place out. Yes, it's expensive. Is it worth the money? Every single cent. I'm not normally the type to work out every day. I usually go every other day but with Pure Barre, I've been going every day. I feel like the instructors definitely pay attention to every single student and correct your poses to make sure you're working out (I can't even slack even if I wanted to). 2. Is this going to be a place I want to keep coming back to? - I worried about this because well if it's not a place I want to keep coming back to then I'm wasting money, right? The instructors and all the students here are fantastically friendly. It's been encouraging me to ramp up the number of times I work out in a week (almost every day now) and it's been great to be a part of the Pure Barre community. 3. Will I feel like I worked out sufficiently? - Yes. Yes, they will make sure you are doing your darned hardest when you're working out. They correct your posture and poses to make sure you're BURNING out those muscles. No classes are alike and even though I come every day, the classes have enough variance that it keeps it interesting. If you find yourself feeling like the classic isn't enough, try out Reform or Empower. They're both difficult in different ways (one is more focused on core and the other on cardio). I highly recommend Pure Barre to anyone looking for a studio class. read more

I normally don't like leaving bad reviews but I asked this company several times to stop spamming me and even got a letter from the owner promising she would stop and still no. They use your personal information without your permission and will never stop sending you emails every day. As far as the class goes, I would say 2 stars. the teacher was not helpful and the music was too loud to hear anything she was saying. It isn't actually a barre class - we used the bar for balancing a few times but that was it. It wasn't really fun and I didn't feel as if I got any exercise from it at all. read more

I have tried many different barre classes and this one is just A-OK in my book. I never feel that I get a great workout (I have felt like I get a better workout at the other barre classes that are 45 minutes rather than one here for an hour). There are a lot of the exercises that I just don't think do much of anything (the ab ones where you sit on the wall). Another slight problem that I have with PB is that 1) They don't have showers, so it is not ideal to go there before work if it is close to home, 2) if you do go during a lunch class, they keep the temperature pretty warm, so you are gross when you go back... I wish they would cool the room a bit more for the noon classes. One other thing to mention: be prepared to have many people around you decked out head to toe in lulu and look like they stepped out of a magazine. Everyone here looks perfect. read more

I LOVE Pure Barre Inman Park. I recently moved to Atlanta and was looking for a new workout routine down here. I first went to the beginners class in August and was immediately hooked. Alexis (teaches the beginners class) and Ally (takes the class so you can watch her form) both took the time in class to help out us newbies and show us each move, which gave me the confidence to take the regular classes. I try to go 4-5 times a week now because I find that it's not only a great work out, but Pure Barre Inman Park is it's own little community and they are very welcoming to everyone new. I definitely recommend classes with Alexis or Ally, but that being said, all of the instructors I've had class with are great. It's taken me years to find a workout that is both effective and enjoyable. Pure Barre has been my answer. In 10 classes, it changed my body; in 40, it transformed it. And it's continuing to do so. Pure Barre is upbeat but also meditative. 55 minutes beautifully curated. I started at another Pure Barre studio, because it's close to work, but I now happily make the drive to Pure Barre Inman Park because the experience and instruction are so much better. The teachers are very encouraging (gotta love positive reinforcement by name!), provide useful details about each and every move, and actively correct your form throughout class. After about two months of Pure Barre, I went to have a dress altered at my regular alterations shop. The woman who owns it exclaimed, "Look at your body! What have you been doing?!" Hands down one of the best places to get a great workout in Atlanta. Let's break it down, shall we? 1. The teachers are awesome. Not just one or two of them, but all of them. They take the time to correct your form and encourage you during the workout. They are all sensitive to non-dancers, which I really appreciate. 2. The class itself is upbeat and fun. I never knew I could sweat as much as I do in this low intensity workout. And talk about the muscle shakes. I've only been to the class about 8 times and can see a huge difference in my thighs, butt, and arms. 3. The location is A+. It's a 4 minute walk from my door to theirs. The instructor and manager Mary was very welcoming. The workout was something to get used to as they isolate muscle groups which ends up looking like everyone in the class is having a spasm. It is not a dance class. I did not sweat during the class but my muscle were shaking (it's a strength thing, not a cardio class). It is worth a try if you want to go to a workout class! The ladies were wearing leggings, workout tops, and pure barre socks. It is very hard to do a plank on carpet in regular socks. The carpet is soft and clean though so that is a nice change from the hardwood floor of most other fitness classes. read more

WOW. A friend told me about Pure Barre, but it wasn't until I won a couple free classes at a Beltline event that I decided to give it a try. This class is amazing! It really targets those tough areas for women. All of my classes have been with Amy and she's fantastic - her workouts are great and she's very encouraging. I love how Pure Barre is a high intensity/low impact workout. You are working your hardest for the entire class, but you don't feel any strain in your joints. After three free classes, I think I might be hooked...time to step up to a membership! read more

I initially tried Pure Barre because it is within walking distance of my apartment and I was having trouble getting to other workout classes before and after work. After my first month, which is given at a great discount of $99, I could definitely tell that my booty and stomach were in much better condition. My arms and calves are definitely more toned as well. I immediately signed up for another 3 months...and just signed up for 6 more. I can't say enough how sweet and enthusiastic the PB staff is everyday. I usually go to a 6 am or 5:30 am class every day of the week, and Bridget, Kimberly, and the other teachers are the best motivation. They take care to get to know every student and help you progress. Overall, Pure Barre is great for me because I love the atmosphere and the early class times are great for my insane work schedule. I've definitely seen progress and defined results, as well. I would suggest it to anyone who needs a group workout environment but wants to avoid high impact damage. I find it to be well worth the money and they often have fun special and challenges to keep everyone on their toes! read more

I love Pure Barre! It's a great, consistent workout and the perfect supplement to cardio. I like how structurally, the class is always the same, but the movements and exercises are completely different and unique to each class and teacher. You go in knowing what to expect (warm up, plank, arms, thighs, glutes, abs. etc), but it never gets boring or old! I've tried other barre classes (Pink Barre, Exhale, flybarre, fit to be, etc.), but Pure Barre is continually my fist choice! The Inman Park location is also my favorite, and not just because it's in my neighborhood. Everyone there is friendly and encouraging, and they make a point to remember your name! This place CHANGED MY LIFE. At 26, I've never been in such great shape! I've done cross country, football, basketball, surfing, cycling- all high intensity workouts known to kick tail (well, surfing is actually chill. But very different than this!), and my membership here got me in the best shape of all of them. I'm stronger, more balanced, and have amazing posture- it even helped my scoliosis because of the core strengthening. The workouts are intense like circuit training, but you get lost in the classes and feel like a machine after a few weeks. The trainers are sharp, attentive, and friendly- and so are the other girls there! (Don't be fooled by the intense game faces- I made several friends!) I stepped in the class thinking I was a completely different species than the beautiful women I saw there. (Not in a good way, haha.) And after just staying diligent and showing up, I have a completely differently shaped body that I've only seen on Instagram feeds from LA. ;-; I can eat more snacks and stay the same slimness, carry all my groceries in at the same time with ease, skate by gliding back and forth, ride my bike with no handle bars, and I run like a gazelle from the savanna. If you're looking to learn how to workout better, do this immediately!!! read more

I absolutely love Pure Barre Inman Park! I had originally started attending the sister studio in Druid Hills, but when I learned that they were opening one closer to my house and that it would be managed by my favorite instructor (Alexis), I was ecstatic. Honestly, besides running, Pure Barre has been the only exercise that I have managed to be able to stick to. The classes are challenging, the music is upbeat, and the instructors are so helpful and friendly. This exercise has also transformed my body in a way that no other exercise ever has. Although the movements and Pure Barre lingo takes getting used to, and your thighs, butt, and abs definitely burn, it's totally worth the "shake"! The moves are adjustable, so I feel like anyone at any athletic skill level can benefit from this exercise. I highly recommend Pure Barre (especially the Inman Park location) to anyone! read more

LOVE this studio. I hate working out, but Pure Barre is something I gladly do a few times a week. I joined when this studio opened, thinking I should try it since I never go to the gym, and figured I had nothing to lose. It is definitely more expensive than a gym but SO worth it! After my new client special, I signed up for 6 months unlimited to push myself to go as much as possible. I try to go 4x/week (though some later classes were cancelled so it's sometimes 3), and even though I'm not remotely athletic or flexible, I've seen results. Friends and coworkers have commented on my toned arms or the fact that I look thinner (hurray for muscle being denser than fat)! All the teachers are so sweet and adorable, and are so kind to put up with (and help) an old lady with no coordination in their classes! :) read more

UPDATE: they called and offered me a complimentary class in another style, I appreciate the follow up but I declined the class. At some point I may give pure barre another shot with a cardio class or reform but for now I will explore other options. I really wanted to love this because I live very close by but I took an intro class today and I have had better engagement with an online instructor. The first half of a very small class (all new) the music was loud and the instructor robotically mumbled through a scripted class. she demonstrated very little reps herself (sometimes not any)this is usually to adjust people but that wasn't happening. It's a free class so was she not getting paid? When nobody around you knows the movement and the instructor isn't demonstrating for long enough it's chaos. The room echos and the instructors flat,monotone,robot fast talks to the loud music. Second half I told her I couldn't hear her so she yelled the mumbled robotic commands with almost no engagement or emotion or word inflection.Students were definitely making eye contact with me like wtf are we doing.I thought this class was to teach us the "pure barre" system but all I got was squeeze... squeeze what my abs my thighs? Huh? She didn't explain but would make a small movement like she was being electrocuted over and over.The cool down she did no demo and we didn't even know what was going on, just commands from behind us... what? I'm really glad I didn't just buy package .The front desk lady was very, very nice. I wish the class was better I guess I'm going to go workout now since I didn't get one. read more

Pure barre is awesome! If you haven't tried it yet, you must! I love that they opened this location right in my neighborhood! The ladies at this studio are so nice and helpful - especially the manager, Alexis! It's a huge plus that they are sister studios with PB Westside, Vinings, and Druid Hills because you can use your packages at any of these studios. The studio itself can be an adjustment because they have a different layout, but after going to several classes I actually like it better! It seems wider and more spacious, and I really like the solo barre in the middle because you don't have to worry about hitting anyone else with your legs on the bottom exercises :) I used to hate working out, but now I get really sad if I go even a day without going to a class! It is a really great exercise and the 55 minutes pass quickly. Definitely buy the sticky socks - they are totally worth it! read more

Pure Barre is pretty amazing. I signed up for their one month special and fell in love. The instructors are all awesome and even though I hate to exercise - I keep coming back! In fact, after my after-work evening class, I sometimes go for a run (which I rarely ever did before) since I feel that I have soo much more energy. I usually get so tired and need a nap after work... I am currently halfway through my first month (I have been going 5-6x/week- its addicting!) and I can see and feel a difference especially in my core and thighs. Pure Barre Inman Park is the best workout experience I've ever had. For one, the instructors and staff are the greatest ladies around. They are encouraging, helpful, and all around fantastic people. Second, the results are real. I've been going regularly since January of this year, and this is the best I've felt about my body in a long time. I have muscle definition in my arms that I never thought I'd ever have, and I feel muscles in my legs that I didn't know still existed. Even that little jiggle at my waist has evaporated. Third, you get 55 minutes devoted to YOU every time. At the end of 2014, a coworker started raving to me about Pure Barre. So, I thought I'd give it a try. I won't lie -- my first (really every) class kicked my butt. But that's one of the rewarding things about this program: You challenge yourself each time and feel accomplished and amazing at the end of it. And they are willing to work with you on modifications, which has been very helpful as I have a few re-occurring injuries. I have done Pure Barre at other locations before and I can say that the Inman Park team is really awesome! I generally go to the early morning 5:30 and 6 AM classes and have never been disappointed. The workouts are great and really help tone in all the hard to get to areas. I have tried other 'barre' classes at other gyms, and PB definitely makes you sweat and shake the most! I love how its really toned up my legs and strengthened my abs. The instructors are super knowledgeable and you get the one on one time that you need to ensure you are getting the position right. I LOVE this studio! Happy, the owner, and the rest of the instructors are very friendly and always make me feel welcome here. Everyone has made an effort to learn my name and give me corrections to help me Improve my technique during class. Pure barre itself is a national exercise chain that teaches an amazing low impact toning workout in a class format, that is perfect for targeting those... stubborn areas...lol! It seems easy at first, but don't be fooled. Once you get the hang of the technique, which can take a bit of time (I have taken about 50 classes and am still learning more every day!) you will find that this workout is KILLER. I am not the best at coming as often as I should, (hello, soreness!) but I can just tell Pure barre is really good for my body, which keeps me coming back again and again. The PBIP team has taken the time to correct me to help take my workout to the next level. I highly recommend breaking down the barre class for beginners. The instructors here really do make sure you are using the correct technique so you can get the most out of the workout. It's pricey, but it is so worth it! read more

I can not say enough wonderful things about this workout and the staff at Inman Park!!! I started on a whim bc a friend of mine mentioned that it opened close to our neighborhood. My first day the instructor Ally was so kind and really made me feel comfortable. After 1 class I was hooked! I still consider myself new to pure barre and so my form may be off with certain moves but the instructors do such a great job of fixing your form, and reinforcing you when you're doing it right. I signed up for Pure Barre Inman Park through the Gilt special for 6 weeks unlimited classes. I have 2 more weeks and I know I will be signing up again. (The deal cost approximately $135, and I think I will end up paying about $7 per class.) I have noticed that my abs are more defined, my arms are more toned, and I feel longer and leaner. The instructors are fantastic - I especially love taking classes with Betsy and Amy. During the classes I feel challenged but not self-conscious about being a beginner. The studio does a good job of teaching similar moves which can be slightly adjusted to become more/less difficult. I am really happy I signed up. read more

I'm completely addicted to Pure Barre. Before starting adding barre into my regular exercise routine, I was doing yoga, running, and weight lifting and felt like I was in a bit of a rut. Pure barre has been the perfect addition. It's surprisingly helped a lot with my endurance when running. I'm much more flexible, and my boyfriend recently remarked that I look "firmer" since starting barre. It's a great workout, but I would suggest doing it in conjunction with other exercises rather than relying simply on barre alone. Either way, although barre is pricey, it's totally worth the money. The instructors really take the time to go around the class and give everyone individual attention. The instructors at Pure Barre in Inman Park are super friendly and supportive. The whole experience is so motivating. I recommend it to all of my friends. They probably think I'm part of a cult or something. That's how much I rave about Pure Barre. read more

Pure Barre is a the most challenging whole-body workout I've ever committed to. Attending classes regularly gives you visible results - I noticed my trouble spots changing within just a couple of weeks. While I love yoga and still go to vinyasa classes, the positions and movements you go through at Pure Barre really target lean muscle change. I went to my first class in August 2014 while I was working on getting in shape before my wedding and have been attending ever since. The team at Inman Park is fantastic - they're professional, hard working and super encouraging. They kept me going during the months of 6 a.m. morning classes!
