Rumble Boxing just opened at the Star Metals office building. I found out on social media, and since I took a few boxing classes before moving to ATL, I wanted to pick it back up again. Rumble is a fitness boxing class -- the 45min is split into rounds where you repeat different exercises that are taught by the trainer but also projected up in the wall for you to reference. When you book your class in the app, you choose to either start on the floor doing strength training or boxing. You switch every couple rounds between floor and boxing. So far, I've loved interacting with the friendly employees and trainers. Liz was amazing today and she made a point to say hi/ask my name as I was waiting for class to start. For your first class, come early. The entrance to the garage threw me for a loop. Get on to 11 St NW and turn on to Vidalia Ln. Park in the visitors lot. Validate your parking ticket before leaving class! Lockers are assigned for class and you'll find a towel in there for you. As for equipment, there's a bundle you can buy that includes quick wraps and gloves, or you can buy your own online. I found my equipment on Amazon. If you don't want to buy gloves, you can rent them for $3/class (you still need your own hand wraps).

Yes, yes, yes, yes! Blast is an awesome fitness studio! So glad I stumbled upon this studio,…read morebecause your girl is in need of some great motivation to lose weight. I purchased the first timer promo, $36 for 3 classes, and went to my first class on Tuesday after work, and let's just say Josè is an awesome instructor! Being that it was my first time at a Blast studio, Josè showed me around, and gave me a brief rundown on how the class will be ran, so I knew what to expect. He made me feel welcomed and answered any questions I had. He also let me know the studio validates parking, in the parking deck, so I don't need to worry about paying for parking! The gym is really clean and nicely put together. There are also free lockers so you can stow your goodies away, while you burn fat! Now on to the workout. So I've never worked out for a straight 60 minutes (hence why I'm out of shape hehe), but Josè was so fun and energetic, time flew by and I didn't even realize I went the entire class without stopping! We did so many fun workouts on the treadmill and the floor. I have an semi-athletic background, so many of the exercises we did, weren't too intimidating but they were definitely challenging! I worked up a pretty nice sweat, and a few times I wanted to yell at Josè for making us work soo hard, lol but I am so glad he kept pushing us, because I know I needed it. I'll be going back to more classes at Blast, especially when Josè is there! Excellent gym and staff, and I will be back. Side note: if you're looking for a COVID-19 friendly space to work out, this studio isn't for you. No one wore masks during the exercise, and the studio where classes are held is really small, so no social distancing. Ventilation was really good though, so it didn't feel like I was breathing old air. To public: if you are coming to workout in a public place, please make sure your hygiene is up to par. Wear deodorant at the minimum, because it's just rude to others to have to smell your funk while working out. Just saying.

The studio is located in midtown next to Kale Me Crazy and parking is validated if you park in the garage. The staff is helpful for new students and showed us the studio space as well as explained expectations for the class (what they will call out, what it means, what the assistant does during class, etc). I liked the fast pace workout and the energy of the instructor. At the end of the class I felt like I had a great workout that worked all parts of my body (arms, legs, abs). I love that the attentiveness of the staff in helping students refill water during class. They also keep the shower and bathroom clean and stocked with gym essentials (shampoo, hair dryer, lotion, bag for wet cloths). The only downside is that the space is quite small so that at the beginning and end of class it can be a little crowded in the hallways.

First thing first, it is great that they offer validation for the Metropolis parking deck. Really helps make it easy to come to class! Second, the desk staff make a an effort to get to know your name which amazing. Third, all of the coaches are phenomenal! Kate, Kasey, Parker and Adrienne are so personal favorites of mine and they are stellar coaches. You really can't go wrong! Definitely cannot recommend this place more than I already do. Give orangetheory a try if you have been on the fence and this is a great location to do it at! I went as a visitor for the first time 2 years ago and it was great then and still is.

If you don't like a coach telling you what exercises to do and cheering you on this is not a work out for you. OTF Is primarily cardio-based as more than half of the workout is in the treadmill and rower. With a third of the class on a treadmill and third of the class on a rower you're really pushing your aerobic fitness and caloric burn. The floor exercise is the last third of the class. In my opinion they can improve their floor exercises and work out as there isn't much time to build muscle but rather to burn fat. There are quite a few locations around Atlanta as OTF has become a very popular workout franchise. This specific location in Midtown has a parking deck for free parking. The classes at this location are almost always full. The coaches and staff are nice just like most locations. They have a bathroom for both sexes and two showers for you to use if you want to go before work. They have a wide range of class times so you can work out super early, mid day or late in the evening. Overall OTF is great for trying to lose weight, get in shape and meet new people while burning calories.

Also, the entire gym along with the changing rooms are really clean. They provide face towels both in the changing rooms and in the workout area, which is perfect for those who sweat like me and forgets to bring their own face towel. They also provide either paper towels or clean rags to wipe down the equipment after each use. There are sprays everywhere for the papers towels and rags, of course, but please make sure you spray those directly and not the machines (they have signs for this everywhere as well to make sure that the machine quality is maintained). I've only gone to this gym at around 9am, so I have no idea how packed it gets during the typical hours people go to the gym before or after work, but I can only imagine that it might get cramped due to its size and popularity in the area, so keep that in mind! I still recommend trying this place out!

The people who work out here are friendly but also serious about their health and fitness. I have asked other gym goers questions before or to spot me and I have always gotten smiles and "of course!" in response. Finally, the price is reasonable! This is the best gym I have ever been a member of.

Serious Safety & Liability Concerns - This Gym Puts Members at Risk…read more This gym is playing fast and loose with member safety, and it needs to be called out. The sauna has a clearly posted warning sign stating a maximum safe temperature of 185°F. Despite this, staff and management insist on running it at 200°F, knowingly exceeding their own posted safety limits. That alone is reckless and a massive liability issue. What made this worse: I entered the sauna first at a safe temperature. Another gym member then came in and turned the temperature up to 197°F, completely ignoring the warning sign. When I pointed out the posted safety limit, this individual became aggressive, threatened me, harassed me, and disturbed my peace while I was simply trying to protect my health. No member should feel unsafe--physically or verbally--while using a wellness facility. Management's response? Dismissive and unconcerned. Instead of addressing: * the unsafe temperature settings * the violation of posted safety guidelines * the harassment and threatening behavior by another member ...the manager failed to take the situation seriously at all. This gym is exposing itself to serious liability by: * Ignoring its own safety warnings * Allowing saunas to operate at dangerous temperatures * Failing to intervene when a member is threatened Saunas are supposed to support health--not endanger it. Until management starts prioritizing member safety, accountability, and basic respect, I strongly do not recommend this gym. Consider this a warning.

You walk into a reception area lit brighter than a cafeteria. Nothing says relaxation like feeling like you're about to take an exam. For a $220 massage, your pre-service options are the hammam or sauna, which is very limited for the price. No steam room or jacuzzi. The robes are very comfortable, and the locker room is nice. Just be prepared to parade past a full gym in your robe on your way to unwind. I booked the Flow massage, which is supposed to be medium pressure. Instead, it felt like I was being buffed like a Camry rather than actually massaged. It came across more freestyle than intentional. I thought maybe it was just me, but both of my sisters had the exact same experience. Then comes the automatic gratuity, bringing the total to $260 for a massage that didn't deliver. If you're going to raise prices, the experience has to rise with it. This was a disappointment.
