When our community was created 31 years ago, the developer chose to plant type of inexpensive, fast growing pines (Aleppo) on the outer perimeter surrounding our community. Over the years, while these pines were attractive, they were messy year-round, grew to sixty and seventy feet in height, caused root damage to the plumbing of numerous homes homes and required risky, expensive tree trimming annually. With CLS' guidance, we are now in our third and final phase of removing these pines (early 2025), and are actively planting attractive new evergreen trees with non-invasive roots that will grow to a maximum height of 35-40 feet (Australian willows and carrotwoods). We'll benefit from lower maintenance expenses, which will enable us to invest in landscaping upgrades to key interior areas of our community. CLS, and especially its tree czar Ramon Tovar, continue to be a great partner to La Mirada Villages.

Here's the difference - I had 5 quotes, none of them listened to what my wife and I wanted. Chris is the only one who listened to our ideas and enhanced them with his expertise. He was not the cheapest quote we got, but he was the most thorough. The project: complete front yard demo, build stairs surrounded by modern landscaping leading to a courtyard with custom planter boxes and lighting throughout. Chris gave us a timeline for the project and stuck with it. His crew, lead by Jorge, arrived on time everyday and cleaned up before they left for the day. It was a big, 2 week project and they finished on time. The entire crew was polite, waved at my kids everyday and worked hard. Project manager Jorge knew what needed to be done everyday and his team executed. Chris worked with our busy schedule, listened to all of our concerns and was quick to act or change directions as needed. Never once did he make us feel like we were not the most important client to him. After 28 days he came by and said marks appeared to be debris such as grass left on tools when workers laid tools on grass. Workers didn't notice and debris mixed in cement. He said he could fix. Color would not match exactly but it would look better. Worker came by and had spread mix over large areas (not just on markings) which made it more noticeable. I texted Emilio the cement looks worse and what could he do as issue was caused by his workers sloppiness and he said nothing. They also left cigarette butts thrown on grass, hairline cracks immediately after cement was laid, left a nail sticking out of cement. Thank God the kids didn't get hurt.
