Loaded baked potato with carne asada and a quesabirria.

Just tried for the first time. Loaded baked potato with carne asada was so good. Big enough to share and a decent price.

Food is so good, they have so many options from burritos, tacos, to burgers. I got a breakfast burrito and added a spicy serrano on the side! They have different drink options; we went with horchata and honeydew melon. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. Outdoor seating is clean, shaded, and has a fresh breeze.

My son had the five tacos for $10 which is an incredibly awesome deal. I had the Barrera, which were unbelievable. Just found this place and I'll be coming back every couple days for sure. Amazing down home cook Mexican food. Super nice lady who owns the truck.thanks again for the amazing food

This is our second time coming here and we love this place! I am from Los Angeles and I always eat San Diego tacos because they always try to make it like Tijuana style but it's never ever good. I felt like these tacos are the best that I've ever had even better than tacos El Gordo or whatever big name brand San Diego but I discovered this place forever ago when I used to live in San Marcos and now I live in downtown. I literally drive over here to eat these tacos at least maybe once in a while! Love love love their birria but mostly their asada!!!!

I used Puras Papas for catering my sons graduation party. I had tried them in the past at their food truck and the food was so good that i knew i wanted to use them for catering. Their birria is by far my favorite and was a hit at our party and was the first to go. They have great customer service and provided us with everything we needed.

There are several food trucks in the general area behind Costco but Puras Papas is definitely the best! They are my go to if I need a good torta or quesabirria tacos. Super yummy fresh food and they also make different aguas frescas. Ms. Maria and her daughter are usually working and they're sweethearts, super friendly and affable. Will definitely be a regular

Puras papas is such a gem! So glad we found this spot. The portion sizes for the price are excellent, it's really unusual these days to get a plate size that is reasonable for the price. 2 of us ate and got full for $25. The loaded fries were perfect, the perfect fries, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and large enough to hold all the toppings well. Quesabirria were great as well. They also included pickled carrots - the best I've had in awhile. The horchata for 4$ was huge. A little sweet for me but still great. Definitely will be back when we're in the area.

Food is too good not to try! Been coming here for a couple of months and this place has never disappointed! Service is amazing, especially Maria who's been here since I started coming.

Hands down best food truck! Victoria and her mom are some of the nicest people you'll meet, not to mention they cook up a mean adobada. My go-to is the adobada loaded fries, but everything on their menu is worth it. We first tried them when their truck came to our apartment community, and now we go regularly. They have daily specials too! They beat out the rest, so you won't regret giving them a try.

You shouldn't have any trouble finding free street parking. There will likely be other food trucks nearby so make sure you're at the correct one. Some of the prices on the menu are so high that I honestly wondered if the amount shown was in pesos. Choose carefully when you order or you just might get a really good single taco for 15 bucks. We tried a fish taco, a shrimp taco, and the Mar Y Tierra burrito (shrimp and carne asada). The fish taco was good-sized but nothing special. The shrimp taco is very large and it's very delicious. I could down a few hundred of these in a competitive eating contest. The Mar Y Tierra burrito is a huge beast. I thought the shrimp was overcooked and the meat was just ok. But the flavors in this burrito were terrific. I would order it again if I wasn't powering down shrimp tacos. Service was very friendly and we only waited about 5 minutes for our food. There are a couple of tables near the truck if you want to eat there and enjoy the nasty view. Otherwise, you can just get takeout. By the way, some of the hot sauces here, which come out of squeeze bottles, are positively satanic. And they are all unmarked, of course. I still devoured all of them. I can't give them 5 stars because the prices of some of the items are simply insane. Four stars seems right.

Our protein choices for our Tacos or Quesatacos were Birra, Carne Asada or Pollo. Rice and Pinto Beans were provided as sides. I chose one each birria and carne asada quesatacos with a side of beans. I topped the tacos with grilled onions, cilantro and a squeeze of lime. I also added a grilled serrano pepper. The carne asada was juicy and flavorful. The corn tortilla was piled high with the carne. The tortilla was great quality and delicious. The birria was not served with a side of consommé for dipping, and honestly, it didn't need it. The shredded meat was so juicy. The cheese pull from the queso was exquisite. Can a cheese pull be exquisite? Yes. Yes, it can. The beans were very good. I love spicy food. I love the heat. That said, the serrano melted my face! Whoo! If you see La Cocina Del Abuelo around town, stop and enjoy a taco. I highly recommend it. The shrimp burrito was enough to honestly feed two people. The fries alone were enough to feed 3. There was only two of us to tackle these orders. That being said, you definitely get what you pay for. Sayulitas offers great value for the price. Our total came out to about $42 for all the food. They give a slight discount if you pay in cash. The bolt fries had curly fries, longanisa, guac, cheese and sour cream. Those were my favorite. The flavors blended well together. The shrimp burrito was ok. The rice was hard and old so it was difficult to eat. I would probably recommend skipping the burrito, hence the 4/5. There is plenty of seating in the restaurant, and there is plenty of parking in a shared lot with other businesses. This spot is great for munchies.

I'm not sure what changed in the kitchen but I pretty bummed on the last 5 times I've gone. I get the California every time I go and add guac for reference, I'm a simple guy. Under-seasoned meat or not enough meat, soggy or dry/stale fries, light on guacamole when added sometimes, missing cheese. The consistency has been really off unfortunately for a pretty simple burrito. My last time I went I ordered the usual California burrito no sour cream add guac, got the burrito and it had sour cream and guac.... But no meat???? It was a big tortilla with sour cream and guacamole only in it lol. I laughed at the mix up and the customer service was great getting a refund (didn't request it they just gave it to me) and replacement burrito. Still decided it was my last time going there after that as even the replacement tasted like the meat had no seasoning on it. Writing this review to hope they turn things around some time in the future, I miss coming here but can't justify spending that much $ for a burrito I'm worried to be bummed about....again.
