These guys set up their truck or tent around breweries for the most part, which seems like a natural partnership to me. You can catch them at the Lost Abbey in San Elijo Hills, Michi Brew (just down the hill from San Elijo), and other locations. The fish taco gets you a huge piece of battered fish with pico de gallo piled a mountain high. The shrimp taco is packed with a bunch of fat and juicy battered shrimp with that same mountain of pico on top. For my taste, the shrimp taco was better than the fish one but I am not complaining about the fish one at all. The "spicy" salsa could be a little spicier, in my opinion, but that is a minor observation and not a complaint. They also have pastor and carne asada tacos but seafood is their specialty. You might have to wait a bit for your food because it is cooked to order. Be patient. Quality is worth waiting for. You get both quantity and quality here. read more

We've had Meche's tacos at a couple different venues, first at Pure Project Vista, then at Weir Beer. They have been great both times. We've tried the grilled fish and the shrimp tacos. So much flavor and very good portions. The staff is always pleasant and patient. Super glad we stopped at Meche's to try the fish tacos. The toppings were fresh, the corn tortilla was sturdy (no need for 2 shells on each taco), and the fish was the perfect amount of crispy.
