They were willing to negotiate and offered us a military discount which sealed the deal for us. However, the only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because from the date of sale, we waited about 6 weeks before they could actually schedule the install. We were told they could install the softener internally to avoid HOA politics but on the day of service, we were told this was not possible, although they did make an attempt. We ended up having to buy a shed which pretty much came at the cost of their discount and going through our HOA anyway. They came back the next day to finish the job. Overall, we were very happy with the service they provided despite that hiccup. Would recommend them for their service and professionalism.

This owner could have a) honored his assertions that he would swap out the filter and softener because we were experiencing smells from the second his equipment was installed [he also broke his word and did not swap out the units like he agreed he would], b) offered a refund and come remove his equipment and we both move on, or c) abandon the customer after ~60 days. The owner chose C. The owner also chose to call me a "Karen" and a Bozo because a customer expected him to resolve issues from his services and posted a low star rating of his company. His lack of customer service, professionalism, and installation are sufficient for a NO-star rating. This company is as big a joke as its name! The best advice this Neanderthal gave me was to place the system he installed in bypass for a month. We had to pay a real professional water company $500 to correct the poor installation done by Little Profit Water Softeners.

The Water Man installed a water softener for me over two years ago. Due to my home's plumbing…read moresetup, their technicians decided to install the unit outside, fully exposed to the elements. They never warned me about the risks, recommended sheltering, or provided protective solutions. If you're reading this, take it as a huge red flag: No reputable water softener company should allow an outdoor installation in San Antonio, where extreme heat in the summer and hard freezes in the winter can destroy equipment. I didn't know better at the time, and now I'm out over $3,000. The softener has failed twice, my plumbing is completely blocked by sediment, and my foundation is shifting due to thousands of gallons of water leaking into the crawlspace on two separate occasions. The First Failure It was inevitable the system would malfunction due to weather exposure. When I reached out, The Water Man refused to take full responsibility, claiming weather damage wasn't covered under warranty. However, their technicians never told me that weather exposure would void the warranty. After some back-and-forth, they replaced the parts under warranty. They claimed the system was functioning properly, but over time, the water pressure dropped, leading to a second failure. The Second Failure Wanting to prevent further issues, I followed Ty's instructions to shelter the unit. However, Ty admitted The Water Man had no sheltering solutions. So, I hired a certified water softener company to build a proper shelter. Due to the shelter's size, the unit was moved a couple meters. After the move, the system failed again. This time, when I contacted The Water Man, Ty refused to investigate, claiming that since another company had made the "alterations" for the shelter, they were no longer responsible. Summary of Failures: 1 They installed the system outside without warning me of the risks. 2 When it failed due to weather, they blamed me for not sheltering it, even though they never told me it needed shelter. 3 When I followed Ty's instructions to shelter the system, he admitted The Water Man had no solutions to offer. 4 When I hired a third-party company to build a shelter and the system failed again, they claimed the warranty was voided due to third-party work. The Water Man's Own Warranty Proves My Point Their warranty clearly states: "Any equipment installed outdoors must be protected from extreme sun/heat, freezing temperatures, fire, lightning, flooding, or wind." But when their technicians installed my unit, they: Never required sheltering Never warned me that weather exposure would void the warranty Never provided any protection solutions When the system failed for a second time, they cited another clause: "Any work performed on Water Treatment Equipment not performed by The Water Man may void any warranties." But Ty instructed me to shelter the system and admitted they couldn't do it. The Result: My plumbing is now completely blocked by sediment, leaving me with no water access and facing thousands of dollars in plumbing repairs. The faulty system also leaked thousands of gallons of water into the crawlspace, causing my pier and beam foundation to settle. This company will likely respond by claiming I was "warned" about third-party work. The reality is: I had to coordinate repairs with sheltering installation, as the warranty required it to be sheltered immediately. They were aware I was using a third-party vendor and said nothing about the warranty being voided until the system failed again. Avoid at all costs.

I was taken advantage of, as I was told the total would be $277. I have always paid $165. Made to believe I was having to pay for a repair, I agreed. Once receiving the bill, I quickly noticed that I paid for the upgraded service of changing the filters because they added sanitizer, which I've always declined in the past due to money circumstances. I called and all they did was try saying they make sure they go thru the options before booking and apologized instead of try to remedy the situation. I promise you, I was there on the phone the whole time and never given an option of a lower cost service that excluded the sanitizer like I have always received before. Not good business. She tried saying because it has been 1 year and 6 months since our last service she would recommend, but I was told, not recommended. Make sure you know your options before you agree to anything. San Antonio's water…read moreis hard, and it showed: shampoo that wouldn't lather, coats that felt filmy after the rinse, scale on the tub fixtures and dryer nozzles. What set Simple Water Softeners apart started before they sold us anything. Lisa sat down and explained what hardness actually does to a dog's coat and skin, how much water a bath station moves in a day, and why a residential unit would fail at our volume. No pressure. No upsell. Just a clear explanation, then a system sized for the real load. The install was fast and clean. They walked our team through the salt and service schedule, and they've checked in since without being asked. They didn't just set a unit on the pad, either. They built an addition onto the building to house the system properly, which tells you how they think about the work: done right, and done to last. The results our groomers notice every day: shampoo rinses clean, conditioner works the way it's supposed to, tubs stay clear of scale, and the dogs go home with coats that feel right. Our clients notice it too. We hear it at pickup: the coat is softer, the skin is calmer, and it stays that way longer between spa days. For a shop bathing over 300 dogs a month, that's not a nice-to-have. Honest, generous with their time, and professional from the first conversation to the last follow-up call. If your business runs on water, call them.
