You need to give them 45-60min to prep 1-2 items or you'll be starving & waiting. Wish we could frequent this place more often but no avocado toast = no me.

There's a particular local chain called Veggies... and whenever my sis would come down, I would specifically request she bring some patties from there... they were just SO GOOD!! Now.... seemingly right after my sister left the Germantown area, enter BK Juices. They have brought the Brooklyn vibes to Frederick of all places, so unexpected! They have a huge picture of the bridge on the wall, and the music that they play inside is phenomenal. I could've sat in there forever... but sadly I live a whole hour away LOL. I had the berry smoothie that has cherries in it and it was so satisfying. It's nice to have the NY vibes in MD, and in such an unexpected way! I'm always looking for the best pizza :). Now, the smoothies are noticeably more expensive than my sis's spots in Brooklyn, but I absolutely love them and can't wait to return.

I usually order the Coco Bowl which has the Playa coconut blend, consisting of coconut and banana, and is topped with blueberry flax granola, banana, and honey. How did I make it to nearly 50 years old before discovering Biscoff Cookie Butter? Honestly, I feel…read morelike I wasted decades of my life living in complete ignorance. I ordered the Biscoff Cookie Butter milkshake at Swirls Ice Cream Shop in Frederick, Maryland, and I am not being dramatic when I say it gave me goosebumps and made my toes curl. One sip and suddenly I understood joy on a spiritual level. It was creamy, rich, perfectly blended, and tasted like angels crushed up caramelized cookies and decided to bless humanity. I genuinely sat there questioning every life decision that had not previously involved Biscoff. But Swirls isn't just about incredible ice cream and milkshakes, the place has personality and it's cute. On many Saturdays they host fun events that make it feel like a community party instead of just an ice cream stop. One weekend they had Elsa and Olaf from Frozen hanging out with kids, another time they had a beekeeper featuring honey milkshakes because apparently these people wake up every day asking themselves, "How can we make life more magical?" Mission accomplished. Swirls is the kind of place that reminds you simple things can still absolutely delight you. Great people, creative flavors, fun events, and a Biscoff milkshake powerful enough to alter brain chemistry. 11/10. My life can now officially be divided into two eras: Before Biscoff and After Biscoff.

Only reason I gave 3 stars is because I had my taste buds set on an aciá smoothie bowl and I feel this bowl was mainly granola and cut up fruit. When I pay for something.. I don't want to have to feel like I could've done this at home. Yes! It taste yummy because it's fresh fruit but I just feel like when you get a smoothie bowl.. let it be more smoothie in there and let the toppings be toppings and not the main part. I wouldn't go back unless they switched up the portions of the ingredients. I do recommend for others that don't care and just want something refreshing however, I'm one of those people who do care and expected exactly what I paid for. Also, similar to tropical smoothie but they put more smoothie and I think this may be cheaper if I'm not mistaken.

The atmosphere is also really nice and enjoyable. However, my last visit was a bit disappointing. A lady who served us had a very rude attitude and seemed like she wanted us to leave quickly.
