The food was soooo good! I tried the pork and bean pupusa, squash pupusa, and chicken tacos. Their cabbage topping is delicious, and I could drink their red sauce. I really wanted to take the whole bottle home lol! Plus the service was great and the restaurant was very clean. They were pretty packed with a party and I can see why. I do believe they may be my new favorite restaurant. Can't wait to return!

I freaking love this place!! It's my new go-to for pupusas. They have so many kinds and all taste amazing! The restaurant is clean and cool. The staff is really nice, very helpful, plus patient. My husband of course didn't know what to order even though we'd talked about it. Lol we discovered this little hole-in-the wall gem because we didn't want the food at the Main Event party for my nephew. We ordered our food to-go. So that's why all the pictures are of the food in containers. We could have ate there but we had to go back before we were missed. They had a large array of drinks. I was actually really surprised and pleased by that. The website doesn't go into detail about all the drinks like they do the website.

First time in, definitely authentic. Typical mexican restaurant type decor and seating. Lots of families dining on this Sunday. Waiter was pleasant and greeted us in Spanish but we replied in English even though I understood him as my Spanish only goes so far :) he was happy to converse in English. We were going to order teas but he explained the drinks they have so I got a hibiscus drink - fabulous! We got the plantains as a starter and they did not disappoint. My husband ordered a chicken and jalapeño pupusa of which they offer many choices. It was delicious. Then he got the Pechuga and I got the Nicaraguan Fried platter. Both were very flavorful. They have a mini mart of sorts selling fresh bread, fruit, frozen treats, drinks and cheeses. On our way out hubs grabbed a "real" Mexican Coke and I got a tres leches to go. We really enjoyed the experience and will be back!

This review has great energy--you just need it tightened and cleaned 1000 dé cinco estrellas!…read more We visited El Jefe Pollo Asados (620 Nassau Rd in Webster) after a long day of touristy activities, exhausted, with a group of seven--including picky kids. We had so many restaurant options but chose this place because of the high ratings... and I'm so glad we did. I'll be honest--when we first arrived, I wasn't impressed with the outside or the area. I was a little hesitant going in. But the moment we walked through the doors, everything changed. The place felt welcoming, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere--yes, a little loud--but in a good way. It's that lively Mexican vibe: music, micheladas, carne asada... all of it. We were just tired, so I think I noticed it more. Now let's talk about the food... I ordered the Maestro Plate but swapped the meat for short rib costillas--and OH. MY. GOSH. These were hands down some of the best costillas I've ever had. Juicy, tender, packed with flavor. I cleaned those bones completely--every single bite. The dish was served with perfectly grilled "nopales" and queso panela, que ricura! Ahhh, and of course the charro beans and rice that I barely made a dent in. The portions? HUGE. Two of us shared one plate and still had leftovers--and we can eat! Now this part says everything: my grandson, who is on the spectrum and very picky, ordered pollo asado... and he tore into it. No complaints, no hesitation--he finished his entire plate. That alone speaks volumes. My daughter had the birria (and she's a birria critic), and even she couldn't finish her plate because of how generous the portion was--but she said it was full of flavor and really good. My older grandson (big growing boy with an equally big appetite) had a birria quesadilla--again, huge portion--and even he couldn't finish it, which never happens. To top it all off, the owner surprised us with a complimentary dessert--warm, soft, pillowy sopapillas with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. The kids were FULL... and still devoured every last bite. Not a crumb left. And let's talk about pricing... honey. Compared to Austin? This was a steal. I was honestly shocked at how affordable it was for the quality and portion sizes. Amazing food, generous portions, great service, and a place that turned my hesitation into loyalty. They've earned our business--100%. We will absolutely be back next time we're in town.

The food... we have been here a few times and have always been blown away, but this time was different. We started with the Tuna Chilly Chile; when it came out we were like, now this looks amazing!!! I just wish that the presentation tasted as good as it looked The flavors were not cohesive, they didn't flow. I couldn't taste the mango, was way too tomatoey, and it needed something. Next we had the crab cake, once again when it came out we were eyes wide open because it looked so dang good! Why was it not The best crab cake ever is from Pappas Seafood, so naturally we compare crab cakes to theirs. This crab cake though was bland, like no zing of flavor. We were disappointed Next we tried the Wagyu Gyoza, we had zero idea that it was going to be in a dumpling. Once again we struck out on all three dishes. You know the rule, three strikes and you're out! We did sign up for the rewards program because Miru does have some really good food, these three dishes are not them. Oh, and the gal with the super long hair that did have it pulled back who kept going behind the bar to make drinks because Natalie had a full bar to make drinks for, take orders from, and make your drinks for your one table that was in the restaurant section, be a better co-worker. Your rude comments about a chocolate martini were unnecessary and your hair whipping all over the place was uncouth. Either braid it or put it in a bun. ‍

It was close. I'd eat here again and I definitely recommend. But on to the food and the service. We had a lot of different dishes so there's lots to say. Our server was young. While that may sound like a dig, it is not. He was super friendly and attentive. We started with some pretty awesome appetizers. The Shiitake Short Rib was falling-off-the-bone (and it is served on the bone) was perhaps the best bite of the night. There are a lot of appetizers to choose from. If you find yourself at Miru, order this. We also tried the Gulf Grouper - Flash Fried, Mango, Tomato, Basil. This was also a delicious bite. I ordered the Spanish Octopus, listed as an appetizer, for my meal. I'm a fan of octopus and order it whenever I see if on a menu. Though an appetizer, the octopus dish was a good size. The description clearly states it's made with peppercorn chile and I should have been prepared for it to have a kick. That said, it caught me off guard. It only took a few bites to adjust to the spice of the dish, after which I thoroughly enjoyed it. Other items ordered included Scottish Salmon with Ginger, Lemon, Lobster Butter, Shrimp, Blue Crab and Sautéed Asparagus... a lovely dinner. When the last couple arrived they ordered the Red Fish dinner, which included Lobster Brown Butter, Crab, Shrimp, Brussel Sprouts and Shallots. They shared the meal and enjoyed it very much. Mark ordered Fish & Chips - Miso Icelandic Cod, Yuzu Tarter and Fries. He definitely enjoyed his meal. I'm not surprised the overall rating for Miru Seafood is 4.5... hmmm. It's well deserved. There are so many options on the menu and everything we tried was quite good. We could go back and get an entirely different meal. I'm confident it would be delicious.

This time, we went to Floyd's--and it exceeded expectations. I ordered the Fisherman's Stew, a generous combination of calamari, octopus, shrimp, fish, and more. It was excellent. Although it presents like a soup, the texture is far richer and more substantial. The deep, robust tomato base gave it an almost Italian character--layered, comforting, and full of flavor. We also tried the chimichurri oysters, which were fresh, clean, and beautifully briny. The salmon--ordered medium--and the one-pound portion of crawfish were equally impressive. The salmon, in particular, was cooked to perfection--tender, moist, and well-seasoned. To be honest, the exterior of the restaurant is not especially impressive. At first glance, it gives the impression of a small, casual spot where you might expect overcooked, overly salty, fried seafood. That assumption was completely wrong--and I found myself quietly apologizing for the misjudgment. Inside, the atmosphere is inviting, cozy, and clean. As for the service, our waitress was adequate--neither especially warm nor unfriendly. She wasn't particularly fast, but she wasn't slow either. She simply did her job.
