Wonderful care of my dog. These two really do love the pets they take care of. Will definitely use them again.

I originally used the Killarney location, where my dog's nails were cut past the quick. I was not informed of this at pickup. While driving home, I noticed blood throughout the back seat and immediately took my dog to the emergency vet. Although accidents can happen, the visit resulted in just over two hundred dollars in veterinary fees and caused ongoing anxiety for my dog during grooming appointments. When I contacted the location, I was told the bleeding had been stopped sufficiently for pickup, though the hair cut appeared incomplete and uneven. After this incident, I was uncomfortable returning to that location and attempted grooming at home. Eventually, I found a groomer who worked well with my dog, but she later moved away. Out of necessity, I scheduled an appointment at the downtown Petropolitan location. A groom two months ago went well, and my dog showed no signs of distress afterward. I had an appointment scheduled for 9:00 a.m. today. Last night, I received a call advising that another client had cancelled and was asked if I could bring both dogs at 10:30 a.m. instead, which I agreed to. Overnight, one of my dogs became ill, and given the circumstances, I called to cancel the appointment to avoid bringing a sick dog, and another dog living in close contact with him, into a facility with other animals. During the cancellation call, I was told the appointment was still scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and was met with skepticism when I explained the time change. I was also told that I had a history of multiple cancellations, which I questioned, as I had not used their services for approximately a year and a half. I was then advised that the sick dog's appointment could be cancelled but that I should still bring in the other dog, despite explaining the illness and shared household exposure. I was informed that failing to do so would result in a cancellation fee. I was transferred to a supervisor, who apologized for the interaction but reiterated the cancellation policy and continued to question the appointment change. I asked that the matter be confirmed with the groomers, which was acknowledged. At that point, I requested a call from the owner and was told this would occur at her convenience. Between the two locations, these experiences have raised concerns for me regarding communication, customer service, and health-related practices within the facilities. Additionally, throughout these interactions, I experienced what I perceived to be condescending and dismissive attitudes from staff, which further contributed to my dissatisfaction. The overall handling of these situations was difficult to believe and ultimately concerning enough that I felt compelled to share my experience. I do not typically write reviews; however, given the decisions made and how they were communicated, I believe it is important to warn others. I will also ensure that friends and family who currently use these services are made aware of these concerns so they can make informed decisions regarding their pets' care and the facilities that they are bringing them to and the conditions around them.

WARNING If you love…read moreyour dog, avoid this place like the plague. PURE NEGLECT. I saw right through their fake smiles and empty reassurances. They don't provide any real report about your dog's wellbeing just generic words, "she's doing great," which was clearly unbelievably false. The kennels are worse than shelters. The condition of this place merits a free stay, not the absurd fee they charge. It's overpacked with dogs, nonstop barking, and clear signs of stress everywhere. Their so-called "privacy suite" is a flat-out lie. They do NOT follow your dog's needs. They claim each kennel has an outdoor run, They have to manually open it, so their statement that dogs can go out anytime is completely false. I told them my dog is a rescue with a history of neglect and abandonment, and I trusted them to keep her safe and supported. Instead, I picked her up in distress , injured, bleeding, and with her voice completely gone from what must have been nonstop barking and crying. EVEN THOUGH I PROVIDED THEM WITH HER SEDATIVES. She had made so much progress, and this experience set her back in every way. Blood was all over my car and the dog wash station from her injuries. It's heartbreaking and infuriating. The shelter she came from took better care of her than this place. I can't understand how businesses like this are allowed to keep operating. How do they sleep at night. Shame on you. PS: I suggest you concern yourself less with reviews and more with the wellbeing of the dogs under your care. At the very least, stop hiring low quality staff.

Time has really gotten way from me in writing this review! I lived in Airdrie from June 2015 -…read moreApril 2016. I was alone in the area for work and had only my dog, Cooper and cat, Saul. I didn't have a friend/family network in the area to help with my animals when I went out of town AND my dog Cooper was fear aggressive so it made it just that much more nerve wracking to leave him with someone. After two failed attempts at a dog sitter via a app based service (2 no shows for meet and greets!) I no longer had confidence in trusting a stranger found by an app to come into my home and car for my pets. I searched for kennels and found High Tails - LIFE CHANGING! From the first phone call to the last visit every experience was outstanding. Cooper loved it so much that when i would pick him up he would not want to get in the car. He was a different dog after his time at High Tails. It was a confidence booster for him and a relief for me. He became much less fearful even outside his stays. Saul, the cat was a little more subtle in his excitement - but he seems happy and content every time I picked him up after a stay. I believe we had about 4 stays at High Tails. One at Christmas time that I booked with less than 2 weeks notice and they were able to accommodate at the last minute. We moved back to St. Louis, Missouri about two weeks after their last stay at High Tails and I can say I was genuinely sad to no longer have the option to bring my pets to this amazing facility! Don't hesitate! If you are looking for a exceptional kennel to board your pets, this is the place!

A refund does not make this right, nor does it come close to rectifying the issue. At minimum, I think your business should pay for the services of a third party groomer of my choice, until such time as we agree the problem has been remedied. Nothing less than that is acceptable. Original Posting: I booked a 'wash/blow dry; tidy/trim feet, cut nails and remove matts behind both ears' appointment for my PUREBRED Japanese Spitz dog. This was based on advice from the breeder who shows dogs on a regular basis. Also, it was my dog's first 'professional groom' and I wanted to ease her into the process gradually. My instructions were clear and my expectations were that NO trimming or cutting beyond what I'd asked for would occur. I even provided a printed guide for grooming this relatively rare breed, when I brought the dog in. Instead: 1. Groomer 'M' blatantly ignored my directions, as well as the provided guide, arbitrarily deciding to do a full generic groom. 2. She blunt-cut my dog's ruff to a short and choppy length around her face, which is totally inappropriate for the breed. Fur on her haunches was blunt cut as well. As a result: 1. My dog's breed-specific appearance has been compromised until her fur grows back. 2. I am VERY UNHAPPY with how this was handled. Even more so, having shared the enclosed before/after pictures with my breeder and other groomers/owners familiar with this breed. Their feedback included: 'This is the perfect example of WHAT NOT TO DO!', 'Looks like the work of a child unsupervised with scissors.' 'What happened to common sense?' At minimum: 1. Your groomers should listen to your customers, and 2. Obtain advance approval if they recommend doing more than an Owner requested.

Both had severe upper respiratory infection... they had been vaccinated prior to their admission...but...due to improper care they appeared to have Tracheal injury (diagnosed by a Veterinary Specialist) due to improper use of leashing technique...the little Frenchie has only ever used a harness so...probably resisted the use of a Noose around her neck when being Dragged outside to urinate (caregivers were aware of this) but their harnesses were not allowed in your facility. Injury to her trachea caused severe breathing problems and respiratory congestion. Both pups have been on antibiotics and the little Frenchie on steroids as well to help with her lung congestion..No previous history of medical problems. It has been 10 days since and will see what the final outcome is! I am truly disappointed...this facility requires caretakers that are properly trained and knowledgeable about the care they provide...our pets are a part of our Family...MY answer would be to provide individual camera footage of every animal in your care...of course I am not only concerned about my pets but others as well...Please...please do better!!!
